Live notes from WWE's Raw in Madison Square Garden, their first ever event in the post-Vince McMahon era last night.
*They are selling a number of Rey Mysterio shirts to tie into his anniversary tonight. They also are selling a New York 3:16 shirt as well as shirts for Cody Rhodes and Brock Lesnar.
*Some back and forth John Cena chants as well as random Woos in the crowd before the show.
They opened the taping with a Wreetlemania 38 music video. It included Vince McMahon being stunner by Steve Austin.
WWE Main Event:
*Cedric Alexander & Mustafa Ali vs. T-Bar & Akira Tozawa. Competitive bout at the bell. There was a "Let's go T-Bar" chant. Double dives from the babyfaces. Double superplex on Tozawa for a near fall. Ali scored the pin with a 450 splash on Tozawa after Cedric nail a suplex. Good match.
*Tamina & Carrtmella vs. Dana Brooke & Asuka. Asuka received the biggest reaction of the four live. They battled back and forth before Asuka scored the pin on Tamina. MSG enjoyed the bout.
*They introduced the announcers. Byron Saxton was booed.
They aired a video package on WWE's talents.
*They aired a WWE 2K22 video game commercial.
Off-Air Raw Notes:
*Logan Paul hit the ring at 7:58 calling out the Miz to set up the show opening brawl. No big reaction one way or the other for Paul, but some boos.
*After the Roman-Austin segment they turned the lights dark for Theory to wait as they plugged a lm exclusive NYC 3:16 shirt.
*After the Drew McIntyre tag, they aired a video package on Rey Mysterio. There was a big pop when Eddie Guerrero was mentioned and shown. MSG chanted for Eddie.
*They had a live segment called the DX Cam asking the crowd to do DX mannerisms.
*The energy of the crown dropped a lot during the Mysterio tag.
*After the Mysterios tag, they pushed a WWE T-shirt of the month club.
*All three members of the SAT, Will, Jose and Joel were part of the Rey Mysterio party backstage.
*After Alexa Bliss' entrance they went to a "John Cena Cam" for fans to mimic Cena on the screens. They went to Alexa in the ring who smiled and then did the "You Can't See Me" gesture for a big pop.
*After losing to Alexa, Doudrop threw a short temper tantrum in the ring. She refused to leave the ring until someone made her. That brought out Ronda Rousey. Nikki ASH retreated from the ring as soon as Ronda's music hit, leaving Doudrop to take a beating and be placed in the armbar. Nice pop for Ronda.
*Nothing of note after Raw went off the air. No Triple H or Stephanie McMahon appearance before the crowd.
*Kiss' Peter Criss was sitting behind the announcers during parts of the broadcast.
*WWE will return to Madison Square Garden on 12/26.
