MORE ON WILLIE MACK'S IMPACT EXIT, ANOTHER STAR DONE FOR NOW AS WELL

By Mike Johnson on 2022-05-06 17:05:00

As Paul Jordan noted earlier, Willie Mack announced his departure from Impact Wrestling today, stating that he had turned down their offer to remain.  PWInsider.com is told that back in March, Mack was informed he wasn't going to be offered a new full-time contract but that the company wanted to continue to book him on a per date basis.  Mack turned that down and finished up at the recent Poughkeepsie tapings.   I wouldn't be shocked to see him back down the line if the two sides agree on terms.

Jonah is also done for now from the promotion.  In his case, we are told that he and the promotion found it increasingly hard to fit him into storylines going forward due to his other commitments, including Japan, so rather than just have him randomly popping in and out and not doing what was deemed "proper stories" with him, the two sides parted on good terms for now with the door wide open for his return if and when the timing works out.  We are told that the company was really thrilled with Jonah's run over the last several months.

AXS TV will air the 2012 Slammiversary PPV this Thursday 5/12.  That show featured:

*TNA champion Bobby Roode vs. Sting.

*TNA Tag Team champions Christopher Daniels & Kazarian vs. AJ Styles & Kurt Angle.

*Bully Ray vs. Joseph Park.

*TNA X Division Champion Austin Aries vs. Samoa Joe.

*TNA TV Champion Devon & Garett Bischoff vs. Robbie E & Robbie T.

*TNA Knockouts champion Gail Kim vs. Brooke Tessmacher.

*Jeff Hardy vs. Rob Van Dam vs. Mr. Anderson.

*Kid Kash vs. Hernandez.

Next week's Impact in 60 will focus on the X-Division.
