MORE ON ANGLE THAT CLOSED SACRIFICE PPV, WHAT HAPPENED AFTER THEY WENT OFF THE AIR

By Mike Johnson on 2022-03-05 22:52:00

The main event of the 4/23 Impact Wrestling Rebellion PPV will be Moose defending his Impact Championship against Josh Alexander.

Alexander's departure from the company was all storyline to build to this evening's angle.  He will challenge Moose in Poughkeepsie, NY, finally getting his title rematch.   Moose stole the title from Alexander at Bound For Glory 2021 using his Call Your Shot Gauntlet win to challenge an exhausted Alexander moments after he won the title from AEW's Christian Cage.   Since then the story has been Alexander has been obsessed with getting the belt back while management, in the form of Scott D'Amore, has been trying to protect Alexander from himself, leading to Alexander being "sent home."

All sides had tried to play it up as Alexander having left the company but he was consistently mentioned on Impact TV.

Alexander was snuck into Paristown Hall in Louisville, KY tonight just ten minutes before the angle after hiding all day to not spoil the surprise.

After The Sacrifice PPV went off the air, Alexander cut a promo for the live house, saying that he never really intended to go elsewhere, thanked the fans and stated he would be on tomorrow's TV taping in Louisville.  We are seeking spoiler reports from the taping.
