BULLET CLUB ARRIVES, PCO VS. SABIN, MICKIE'S STATE OF THE KNOCKOUTS ADDRESS, SOMETHING VS. BEY ROCKS & MORE: IMPACT WRESTLING ON AXS TV REPORT

By Mike Johnson on 2022-01-27 22:00:00

Welcome to this week's edition of Impact Wrestling on AXS, emanating from Fort Lauderdale, Florida!

Tom Hannifer is doing commentary with Matthew Rehwoldt.  D'Lo Brown is still out due to the attack by Honor No More.

Chris Bey vs. Jake Something.

Bey attacked with a series of kicks but was caught and sent into the buckles.  He was caught and hit with a big backdrop followed by a hard right hand from Something.  Bey was sent into the ropes but retreated to the floor.  Something followed but was nailed with a kick.  Something caught him going for a move and slammed him  face-first on the apron.  Something was drilled on the floor.  Bey nailed a flip dive from the ring post to the floor.  The crowd chanted for Bey.

Bey returned to the ring and attacked Something when he followed.  Bey drilled him with a series of punches and a big dropkick to the face, sending him into the corner.  Jake made a comeback but was caught with a neckbreaker variation for a two count.  Something came back to nail a big charging splash in the corner but was surprised with a superkick for a two count.  Bey scissored Something's neck on the mat. Bey locked on a sleeper.  Something powered to his feet and dropped backwards in an Electric Chair but Bey held the sleeper on.

Something fought to his feet again and snapped Bey into a belly to back suplex, finally breaking the hold.  The referee counted them down as they fought to their feet.  Something controlled the battle.  Bey caught him with a leaping forearm.  Something hit him with a big one-armed powerbomb but Bey kicked out at the last second.  Something went for a spear in the corner but Bey pulled himself up and drilled himself into the buckles.  Bey hit a doublestomp off the top but the Art of Finesse was countered.  Something nailed the spear in the corner and went for the Void but Bey avoided and drilled him with a kick, then a Poisonrana for another close two count.  This has been great.

Bey kept drilling Something with kicks but Something fired up and nailed a running tackle.  He charged Bey in the corner but was drilled.  Bey came off the top but was caught with The Void for the pin.

Your winner, Jake Something!

The Guerrillas of Destiny hit the ring and attacked Jake.  He was beaten.  Mike Bailey hit the ring for the save but Jay White attacked him.  The G.O.D. said they were looking for The Good Brothers.  They said Impact was now their house.

Honor No More arrived in the building, making their way through the crowd as security tried to stop them.

After a commercial break, Eddie Edwards, Rhino, Rich Swann, Chris Sabin and Josh Alexander were in the ring challenging them to hit the ring and let them right.  Scott D'Amore (TO ENTRANCE MUSIC?) came out and said everything is about kicking down doors and seeing ROH and Impact.  He said they don't represent ROH since they don't work there anymore and they don't represent what ROH stands for like Jonathan Gresham and Cary Silkin.  They are just the latest piece of sh** group of carnies looking to create mayhem.  Maria Kanellis asked why any of them should play by his rules.  She doesn't want to hear his bullsh**.  They want an opportunity.  He said they don't deserve one after what they have done.  Rhino said they deserve to have their asses kicked.  D'Amore said business is business and they want to do business, they can fight Impact's best at No Surrender.  If they can win, they can stay.  If not, don't let the door hit them on the way out.  Maria agrees.

Chris Sabin said that's fine but they don't want to wait until February.  Scott said they can pick one of their men and fight tonight.  PCO stepped up.  It's Sabin vs. PCO in the main event.

Backstage, Kaleb with A K said it sucks their match against The IInspiration is a non-title match.  Madison Rayne said it's not and his job is to not screw things up tonight so they can scout the IInspiration for when the Influence gets to challenge for the titles.  She walked out.  Kaleb wondered, "But what if the match was for the titles..."

Elsehwere, Scott D'Amore was placing Honor No More in a back room so the rest of the locker room doesn't get to them.  They of course complained.  Cary Silkin, making his Impact debut, showed up and Scott hugged him.  Vincent asked Cary if he brought his last check.  Silkin asked the group what was going on with them.  Maria began knocking him and ROH.  He asked them how they could forget everything ROH created over the last 20 years, all the titles and great matches and getting to run Madison Square Garden.  Taven said he gave ROH ten years of his life and for what?  To end up at the back of the unemployment line.  He said fans online blame him for what happened to ROH because he headlined MSG.  If Honor is dead, he's glad he killed it.  Silkin told him, he didn't kill it.  He never had honor.  D'Amore had Cary leave so he didn't have to deal with the Honor No More crew.

Impact Wrestling Knockouts Tag Team Champions The IInspiration vs. Madison Rayne & Kaleb with A K

Kaleb and Cassie Lee started out and went back and forth.  Jesse McKay tagged in and went for a sunset flip but he pulled her up.  The IInspiration doubleteamed him but Rayne attacked.  Kaleb nailed a superkick.

When they returned from commercial, Rayne was working over Cassie's arm.  She and Kaleb tagged in and out, working over Cassie.  Kaleb ended up crotching himself in the ropes.  Jessie McKay made the hot tag and cleaned house on Rayne.  Kaleb hit the ring and was kicked low again.  Rayne grabbed Kaleb and accidentally DDT'd him. ,

McKay slammed Rayne down but didn't realize Kaleb made the blind tag into the ring.  McKay slugged him hard.  Lee tagged in and nailed a big kick.   She rolled him up for a two count but was kneed hard in the ribs.  Kaleb went for a move but Lee turned it into a sunset flip powerbomb for the pin.

Your winners, The IInspiration!

Backstage, Jake Something thanked Mike Bailey for the help.  Ace Austin and Madman Fulton showed up and acted like he was going to help but didn't get the chance.  Something didn't buy his claims.  Bailey said if he wanted to help, they can all team against Bullet Club.  Ace stammered to get out of it but Gail Kim heard all of this and made the match for next week.

They aired a vignette on Gisele Shaw coming.  She's going to be a heel.

Backstage, The Good Brothers went to Violence by Design saying they had a problem, the Bullet Club is in the house.  Eric Young said that's not their business, that's The Good Brothers.  Gallows and Anderson said they got business done together.  Gallows said they are coming to kill the Bullet Club and to do that, they need a lethal injection of violence.  Young said violence is their business and business will continue.

Back in the ring, Gail Kim introduced Mickie James for a State of the Knockouts Address.  All the Knockouts were at ringside.  James came to the ring and embraced Kim.

James praised Gail as the leader of the Knockouts.  She said it's been an incredible year and she never thought she'd be standing here a year ago.  They have the strongest Knockouts division they have ever had.  The reinvention of the Knockouts Tag Team Champions and put over The IInspiration as champions.  She praised Jordynne Grace as the Digital Media Champion.  She praised the Ultimate X match at Hard to Kill.    They showed Tasha Steelz glowering at her.  Mickie said Deonna Purrazzo may be the worst human she's ever come across, she's still one of the best she's shared a ring with.  She said Gail, herself and Deonna were the top three Knockouts Champions.

Deonna said this is a complete waste of everyone's time.  She doesn't need to hear she's the third-best.  She already knows she's the greatest.  She doesn't need to hear how all these Knockouts are great, because that's a lie.  She's going to see herself out.  She walked out.  James mocked her on the way out.  She said in two days she will make HERSTORY as for the first time a world champion that doesn't "belong to them" will enter the Royal Rumble.  She said if she wins, she's going to put the Knockouts title on the line at Wrestlemania, champion vs. champion.

Chelsea Green entered the ring and said "if" she wins but she's Mickie James, so of course she's going to win.  Green said that when Mickie wins, she wants a title shot.  Tasha Steelz said no one cares what Green wants as she's beaten Green twice, so she's a non-factor.  She said that she was the one who made history - she's the one who won the Knockouts Tag belts when they were brought back.  She's the one who won the Ultimate X.  She's going to be the one who takes the title from Mickie.  She nailed Mickie.  Green drilled Tasha.  Savannah Evans tossed Green into the corner.  James attacked Steelz.  She and Green cleared the ring.

Gia Miller interviewed Steve Maclin.  He said that he lost under ROH Pure Rules but this is Impact Wrestling.  He doesn't care what the record books state and told her to leave.  Security tried to calm him and he yelled at them.  Jonathan Gresham offered to face him next week.  Maclin said he knows the answer.

They showed footage of Jordynne Grace vs. Kiera Hogan from TERMINUS to retain the Digital Media title.  Grace was asked about Matt Cardona challenging her for a title match.  She knocked him and said he could have.

Brian Myers joined the announcers.

W. Morrisey vs. Nine Members of The Learning Tree

It was VSK, Zicky Dice and a ton of other nondescript wrestlers.   Morrisey wrecked them.  He powerbombed one of them onto Dice and scored the pin.

Your winner, Morrisey!

Myers attacked Morrisey but was quickly overcome.  Morrisey went for a chokeslam but Moose attacked him.  Morrisey fired back but Myers nailed him.  Morrisey grabbed Myers by the throat but Moose struck him with the title belt.  The Learning Tree stomped Morrisey but he overpowered them and sent them flying.  Moose speared Morrisey and stood over the fallen competitor.

The aftermath was super entertaining.

Johnny Swinger vs. Jonah

They showed Swinger disrepect Jonah earlier today and be tossed into a wall.  Decay mocked Swinger.

Back in the ring, Swinger tried to go for a takedown but it didn't work out so well.  He raked Jonah's face.  They showed Dan Lambert watching in the crowd.  Jonah wiped out Swinger with a pair of back senton splashes, then a big splash off the top for the pin.

Your winner, Jonah!

PCO with Honor No More vs. Chris Sabin with Impact Wrestling

They locked up and PCO backed Sabin into the corner with a big right hand.  PCO and Sabin slugged it out.  Sabin charged but was kicked down and beaten across the back.  PCO began working over his arm.  Sabin battled back and nailed a big shoulderblock but when he went to follow up, Honor No More tripped him.  PCO covered him for a two count.  Impact's side tried to help but were ejected from ringside.

After the commercial, PCO dumped Sabin over the top to the floor, then tossed him back into the ring.  PCO nailed a Cactus clothesline over the top to the floor.  He nailed a tope con hilo to the floor. PCO sent him into the ring steps.  PCO nailed a senton off the ropes onto Sabin on the apron.

The mauling continued until PCO missed a moonsault off the top.  Sabin pulled himself up and kicked PCO away, nailing a missile dropkick.  He followed up with a big running boot in the corner.

Sabin ascended to the top for another missile dropkick, sending the former ROH Champion to the floor.  Sabin hit a tope to the floor.  Sabin nailed another missile dropkick for a two count.  PCO made a comeback but missed a Vader Bomb.  Sabin began drilling big shots.

Sabin attempted Cradleshock but Matt Taven got on the apron.  Sabin began taking out Honor No More members on the floor.  Maria got on the apron, distracting the referee and allowing Bennett to shove Sabin off the top.  Sabin was drilled with a full nelson slam into a Bubba Bomb for the pin.

Your winner, PCO!

Impact Wrestling hit the ring to brawl with Honor No More.  Eddie Edwards was going to cane Vincent but stopped.  Josh Alexander grabbed an anklelock but Honor No More pulled him to the floor.

Really good main event to continue the build to the ten man tag at the PPV.  Bey vs. Something was terrific and everything else were spotlight matches to move the stories along or showcase the "star" talent.  The James-Tasha angle was good too.
