VON ERICHS PULLED FROM TOMORROW'S MLW EVENT IN DALLAS, UPDATED WITH OFFICIAL MLW ANNOUNCEMENT

By Mike Johnson on 2022-01-20 08:10:00

Marshall and Ross Von Erich announced last night that they have each tested positive for COVID-19 and will not be able to travel from Hawaii to Dallas for tomorrow's MLW TV taping:

The Von Erichs were slated to challenge 5150 for the MLW Tag Team Titles, built around the idea of the first time the family has challenged for gold in decades.

MLW announced the following:

Von Erichs placed on COVID reserve list

A mystery replacement team will be revealed tomorrow live in Dallas

The Von Erichs have been ruled medically unable to perform by the league’s physician Dr. Nelson Sweglar, due to testing positive for COVID as part of MLW’s COVID health and safety protocols.

“The safety and well being of our fans, staff, and competitors is number one,” said MLW CEO Court Bauer. “While we’re all saddened by this news, you gotta do the right thing and that’s placing the Von Erichs on our COVID reserve list. We promise the Von Erichs will be back healthy and ready for action when we return to Dallas March 31st.”

A mystery replacement team will be revealed tomorrow live in Dallas. Who will step up and challenge the double champions 5150? Find out at Gilley’s this Friday night January 21st. Learn more about MLW’s Dallas card, Blood & Thunder.

PWInsider.com is told MLW is working on changes to the card, including a substitution team.  MLW Azteca had already been put to bed before the Von Erich situation took place, so the TV episode will likely not refect the changes to the card.

MLW is slated to run Gilley's in Texas tomorrow in Dallas.
