Do you think we'll see any AEW stars in the Royal Rumble and if not, why not?

Well, I don't believe for a second WWE wants any AEW talents in the Rumble match, but if I was Tony Khan, I don't want them in there, either.  Why?  It's WWE's story and you don't want your performers being secondary players to someone else's story.  If an AEW star walked out and got a big pop and was then a non-player in the Rumble story or tossed out by someone WWE booked awful on a weekly basis, all you would have accomplished is letting your audience down.

Impact is in a different position and they got some much needed juice out of Mickie James being in the Rumble, but one thing I hated was at the end of the Hard to Kill PPV, which was excellent, the last thing we heard was the announcers talking about James' road to the Royal Rumble being clear.  Therefore, everything else was now secondary to a WWE show.  I don't like that positioning for other companies, the idea of making themselves themselves look smaller - on their OWN SHOW - than what's going on in WWE.   I would not want and I couldn't see Tony Khan doing that with his own show.

Secondly, WarnerMedia is paying AEW for content.  You don't want your talents on something that could be repurposed and shown on USA Network or FOX, but that's just me.  Impact is in a different position financially, in terms of being paid for content and in terms of positioning in the eyes of the fans.  They have zero to lose.  AEW is in a much better position and doesn't need it.

What's the one match you always wanted to see but never had the chance?

Understand, I've seen a LOT of stuff from different eras and countries already, so my pick would be petty unique.  Owen Hart once wrestled Sabu in a dark match at a WWF TV taping in 1993.  Even if it was a five minute, nothing match, I'd really like to see how they were in the ring against each other for myself.  Maybe if WWE ever brings back the Network Gems...

Why doesn't anyone really use the six-sided ring anymore?

It was a fad that played itself out.  Impact using it as a way to differentiate themselves was a nice idea but over time, the talents really, really found they liked working in a traditional ring more.  Impact brought it back the last time it was used regularly because at the time, Dixie Carter believed Jeff Jarrett was going to use it for Global Force Wrestling and wanted to beat him to the punch.

There's been rumors of a WWE PPV in Saudi Arabia in February.  Is that true?

As of today, yes.  The Mat Men Podcast reported the date would be Saturday 2/19 and we are told it's absolutely slated for that weekend.  I say slated because, as anyone with a logical sense of being sees, the COVID-19 pandemic isnt over and with the omicron wave, you never know what could happen internationally, but right now, everyone involved is working towards that weekend being the show.

How does WWE react when you break something like the changes within the NXT Creative system?

It depends on the person I speak to after.  Most know we have a job to do and are doing it.  Some get upset, but it's never the same people and it usually changes based on the story and circumstances.  I never take any of it personally.  They have a job to do and so do we.
