NWA STAR GOES TO EMERGENCY ROOM FOLLOWING HARD TIMES PPV

By Mike Johnson on 2021-12-05 03:03:00

The Pope Elijah Burke was transported via ambulance to a hospital in Atlanta, GA following the NWA Hard Times 2 PPV after being legitimately hurt being thrown into the ringside steps in the aftermath of Trevor Murdoch and Mike Knox, the PPV's main event.

After the match, Matt Cardona came out as a surprise to confront Murdoch, allowing Knox to low blow the NWA Champion from behind.  They began working over Murdoch, leading to Mick Foley coming out and saying he had a surprise for them.

Burke hit the ringside area and brawled briefly with Cardona and Knox before being thrown into the ring steps, where it appears he goes limp following his bump into them.  Burke is not part of the remainder of the broadcast's angle but is rolled into the ring in the last seconds.

After the PPV went off the air, Burke remained down, leading to several NWA officials including Billy Corgan to come out and check on him.  This continued on after the cameras were turned off and fans exited the venue.

An ambulance was called and Burke was taken to a local hospital.  As of this writing, we are told he is still in the ER and is undergoing X-Rays and additional tests to properly diagnose where things stand.

Obviously, we send our best to Elijah Burke for a quick and painless recovery.
