By Adam Cardoza on 2021-11-26 03:25:00

Beyond Wrestling “Uncharted Territory: Season 3, Episode 8”

Happy Thanksgiving, y’all! I’m stuffed to the gills (what a weird saying. Am I a fish?) on turkey and other holiday meal standards but dammit, I’m here in Worcester for Uncharted Territory. Between a few returns, debuts and a hotly anticipated title rematch, tonight’s card is aiming to keep the tryptophan coma well in check! Paul Crockett & Sidney Bakabella are at the commentary booth. Rich Palladino is your announcer. Let’s get to our spotlight match!

Spotlight Match: Nolo Kitano vs Love, Doug

Everyone loves Doug. Kitano is unimpressed and goes right at him. Doug wiggles free and blows some kisses before hitting a dropkick. Kitano tries to fly out of a monkey flip but gets rolled up for two. Springboard back elbow from Doug and a big slam for two. Kitano with a drop toe hold to the bottom rope and a slingshot moonsault to the back for two. Cool spot. Kitano with a couple of stiff kicks to the back, a backbreaker and spinning knee to the face for two! Kitano beating Doug up with body strikes and kicks until Doug catches him in a hug and hits an overhead belly to belly. Kitano bounced off his head with a bulldog for two! Doug with a knee and big boot for two! Kitano fights out of a headlock driver and sets up a butterfly for a driver of his own. Doug slips it and flips it into a pin. Kitano looks to kick out at 2.9999 but his shoulder stays to the mat for three! Good match!

Winner: Love, Doug

And we’re live on IWTV! cue Bro Hy—wait what…This is suicidal tendencies? I suppose we won’t hear be hearing that OTHER song much until Day 91. Wink wink nudge nudge throw it up. <points>

Match 1: “The Trend” Matt Taven vs “The Prize” Alec Price

Welcome back to Beyond, Matt Taven! You have a stiff test in Beyond’s king s***bag, Alec Price….but Becca isn’t here with him tonight. Price is FIRED UP and Taven gives a nod of respect to this ball of energy. I would like to point out that Alec Price has his d*** strings way out, likely a wink and middle finger at injured rival Chris Dickinson. Price is all energy but Taven is experience and skill, easily handling Price in the early minutes. Price resorts to hair pulling and a cheap shot but an angered Matt Taven beats him back. F5 hot shot over the top, Taven with a springboard kick and running baseball slide. Price dodges a dive, gets a head of steam and YEETS HIMSELF OVER THE TOP AT TAVEN. Price with a chop block back in the ring and takes control. Big flying ddt for two. Double stomp…kick out! The crowd is not letting up on Price and Taven uses the head game to hit a big sitout bomb for two. Price dodges a headlock driver, hits a pair of running knees and a flying leg lariat! Kick out! Taven dodges the back head kick and hits a flatliner into a head & arm choke. Price tries to switch it into a pin. He gets the ropes and batters Taven. Price reversed in the corner, Taven with a leg lariat to the back of head. A backbreaker and big ddt! Lionsault! Price kicks out! Half and half suplex from Price! He sets up a got h piledriver but bombs Taven for two! Price and Taven trade reversals but Price hits a tree of woe double stomp! Taven still able to  muscle Price. Price comes flying into a bomb. PK into a headlock driver! Taven to the top…he’s taking too long…Price dodges the frog splash and hits the back head kick for the clean three. This was fantastic. Price just proved he can back up his mouth against a veteran without cheap tactics or interference. Hell of an opener.

Winner: Alec Price

Match 2: Shook Crew (Bryce Donovan & Bobby Orlando) vs Mane Event (Jay Lyon & Midas Black)

Shook Crew is also running without backup tonight….Well, there’s always Bobby Junior. The Lyon can’t hold back and attacks the delicious looking Bobby Junior at the bell. Orlando tries to save his goat but Lyon makes him eat a leg lariat instead. Donovan doesn’t fall victim to Midas’ hat trick…..until he does. Double team slam on Donovan for two. Lyon tries a handspring but gets dropkicked on the ropes! Shook Crew tries beating down Lyon but he escapes early to get the tag to a fired up Midas Black. He tries the Lion ring trick but Shook Crew keep throwing the steak back to distract Lyon. Like before, Shook Crew thinks they anticipated this trick and Mane Event finds a way to hit it regardless. Donovan stuns Black and Shook Crew swarms with quick tags and tandem offense. They keep Lyon off the apron and Midas has to keep fighting. Midas drops the Shook Crew as Lyon gets back up to the tag rope. Tag! Lyon hits a spinning uranage/ legdrop combo to Shook Crew! Donovan with a gut kick…double ddt for two! Lyon eats a pile of kicks, slams and cutters but Midas breaks up the pin to save the match. Donovan dropkicked off the apron! 619 from Midas! Lyonsault! Frog splash! Orlando kicks out! Orlando dodges a pop up X factor. Donovan flies in with a clothesline! Both teams trading chops as they get to their feet. Mane a event dodges whips into a double dropkick. Midas grabs Bobby Junior and hits a seated senton with it onto Orlando! Donovan tries to steal the roll up! Lyon pops him up! X Factor Bomb from Mane Event! One. Two. Three! Great energy and chemistry between both teams here. This was a LOT of fun.

Winners: Mane Event

Match 3: “Weapon X” Matt Makowski vs SLADE (No DQ)

SLADE is full on murder energy against a man we definitely hate now, Matt Makowski. Makowski says he came prepared and is ready for SLADE’s usual NO DQ shenanigans. Is he ready? SLADE grabs a chair and blasts it over Matt’s back. Makowski grabs a football helmet and uses it for defense against another chair to the head. He IS ready! Makowski kicks the chair into SLADE and spears him. Makowski landing a pile of chest kicks and tries to choke SLADE out. Makowski comes running and cannonballs SLADE so hard that the entire entrance curtain collapses. Holy hell this was a great spot. Makowski throwing doors into the ring onto SLADE. Makowski sets up the doors and tries to send SLADE through…but eats a brutal chokeslam. Makowski tries a front choke but gets speared into a door! Makowski kicks out! Trading shots to the feet, SLADE’s getting madder but Makowski crumbles him with a kick to the back of the head. Makowski puts on his gi and proceeds to choke out SLADE with the sleeve…before getting speared into another door! A brief moment of silence before Makowski comes out of the rumble and reapplies the gi choke. SLADE is fighting it but Makowski puts the man from Rikers Island to sleep. I liked this a lot as a deviation in the normal SLADE playbook. Makowski gets a “cheap” win and SLADE still looks like a badass in defeat. I’m still thinking about that cannonball that took out the entrance curtain.

Winner: Matt Makowski

It’s time for Suge vs Trish II. These friends got a little passive aggressive with each other on Twitter this week:

Match 4: “The Intergalactic King of Catch” Suge D vs “The Afropunk” Trish Adora(c) (for the Pan Afrikan World Diaspora Wrestling Championship)

Worcester gives a lot of love to the return of Suge D but they love the champ too. Suge holds back on the handshake because it’s time to get to business and friendship doesn’t matter when the gold is on the line. Suge wraps up Adora early and stretches her back in the knee. Trish works the reversal to the shoulder and almost ends this defense with a quick rollup. Suge grabs an ankle lock, Adora bridges out into a headlock…Suge with the rollup for two! Suge stretching the legs and ankles, Adora fights out and twists up the shoulder some more. Adora trips up Suge with a drop down and grapevines the legs. Suge gets the rope but he’s getting tired of Adora’s swagger. They traded some barbs and go right into a rapid slugfest. Adora with a toss to the outside., Suge catches her baseball slide and belly to bellies her to the wooden floor of the White Eagle. Suge whipped to the apron but he slams her back right into it. “Why did you make me do that?!?” Screams Suge as he is clearly frustrated having to hurt his friend so much in pursuit of this title. Suge with a leg and arm stretch, Adora throwing forearms but Suge blasts her back to the canvas. Snap suplex! Kickout and the champ is MAD. Suge crumbles her again with a slap and hits a thudding chop. Suge pulls her up but she locks on a front choke! Suge runs her to the corner but she dives up into a rear choke! Suge tosses her down again and steals her with kicks and stomps and boot rakes. Adora getting rammed into the buckles, Suge comes running…into a knee! She gets a crucifix on! Suge is dropped! He’s going out! Suge gets the rope! Suge stuns her coming in and applied a body lock and choke of his own. Adora fights it off! Big boot! Cross body! Adora firing up with body splashes and a blockbuster. Back suplex drops Suge on his dome but Adora is too tired to make the pin! They work to their feet, she tries a DDT but Suge holds the rope. Rolling forearm! Backbreaker! Suge tries talking to his fallen friend but she’s throwing punches. Suge with a lariat and two count! Suge transitions to a side choke and arches Adora back into it. Adora with a pin attempt and Suge has to break it! Suge talking to her again “You think I LIKE doing this?” Suge says as the crowd firmly turns against him. Adora fires up and they trade shots of rage. European uppercut to the back of the head! Adora is back up and blasts Suge with knees! She hits her own uppercut and Suge kicks out! Suge with a headbutt and a butterfly powerbomb! Trish kicks out! Suge with a knee to the face and another butterfly powerbomb! Adora is out again! She wraps her legs around Suge’s head….she traps the arms…he’s fading…Suge muscles her up for a buckle bomb! Suge pulls down the knee pad before going back to trading shots. Adora landing chop after chop and screaming. She tries the lariat Tubman, backslide? Kickout! They stay in the back to back…Trish kicks off the ropes, Suge’s shoulders are down and Trish bridges over it for the three! Suge is shocked!

Winner: Trish Adora

A disappointed Suge D tries to take the belt out of frustration but he shoves it back into her chest and shakes the champ’s hand. Still friends? Each defense of the Pan Afrikan World Diaspora Wrestling Championship has been better than the last. I was sure Suge would take it tonight. It was an epic tier performance from both and definitely outpaced their first title clash at GCW For the Culture II. Now I need an intermission and a short recovery nap. No? Ok! More wrestling!

Match 5: “Platinum” Max Caster vs Teddy Goodz (w/ Little Mean Kathleen)

This was EXACTLY the energy I needed to follow the title match. Max focuses on LMK’s childlike stature in his opening rap…and Goodz blasts him with a forearm to open the contest. Max takes control back and drags Teddy out and stomps at the elbow on the apron. Goodz slammed to the apron as Caster is firmly in the driver’s seat. Lots of swagger as Max lays in the beatdown…until he gets distracted by LMK. Caster cuts off the comeback but Goodz headbutts his way to freedom and hits a crossbody off the top! Running back elbows! Caster tries to evade but Goodz hits a back stunner “for Rich Palladino”! (Calling back to Caster’s attack on the announcer last week) Kick out! Max Caster tries to pin with his feet on the ropes but Rich Palladino gets in the mic to call attention to the cheating. “F*** YOU RICH!” “NO, F*** YOU MAX!” Huge pop for this spot. LMK distracts Caster. Goodz comes in with a rough Ryder, iconoclasym, and a cutter. Kickout! LMK gets max’s chain to Goodz but that distracts the ref, Max hits a pop up kick to the nards and lands the mic drop for the pin. Rich sounds so defeated as he announces Caster as the winner. Caster drops an elbow on the back of an unsuspecting LMK as she checks on Goodz. The crowd made sure he knows how they really feel.

Winner: Platinum Max Caster

Match 6: Waves & Curls (Traevon Jordan & Jaelyn Brandyn) vs The Brick City Boyz (JCruz & Victor Chase)

Waves & Curls suffered a huge post match beatdown last week so they can’t be at 100% tonight. Can they keep the run alive? The Brick City Boyz are ready to become the most hated team in Worcester. BCB attacks on the introduction and lays out Brandyn on the outside. His leg looks messed up. Ref’s are checking on him while Jordan fights off both opponents. Jordan distracted by checking on his partner and Cruz hits a huge German as the bell sounds. Traevon is basically in a handicap match right now. Double kick sandwich and Chase gets a two. Chase with a neckbreaker, another two. Cruz in with suplexes and Jordan has to stay resilient. Meanwhile on the outside, the ref is bandaging up Jaelyn’s leg and he’s still not back up. Jordan eating combo after combo but refusing to give the three. Jaelyns back up and being helped to the back….he doesn’t want to go and heads back towards the ring…SLOWLY. Jordan gets a boot up on Chase and hits a big sidewalk slam to Cruz. Powerbombs Chase into his partner! Jaelyn is at the tag rope and Jordan tags out! Jaelyn tries a series of roll up and is definitely a one legged man in an ass-kicking contest. He goes blow for blow with both guys but they kick the leg out! Jaelyn dropped and Cruz almost gets the pin. Jordan intercepts the finish! Chase pulls Jordan off the apron! Jaelyn fights out of the finish and tries a roll up! Chase is out and BCB finally hit a doomsday elbow drop to Jaelyn. Jordan can’t make it back in time…Jaelyn stays down for the three. The crowd HAAAAAATES this team even more now.

Winners: The Brick City Boyz

The crowd won’t let them get a word in on the post match interview so they just leave with smirks on their faces. What a run for Waves & Curls…but all good things must hit the Bricks at some point. I hope Sidney Bakabella brings his Slaughterhouse to the party some week soon…

Match 7: “The Russian Dynamite” Masha Slamovich vs “The Violence Artist” Charli Evans

Been looking forward to this! They try trading power but hit a stalemate.  Evans takes her down into a body scissors and tries to choke her opponent out early. Trading kicks and quick pin attempts. No one really getting the advantage in this mirror match of styles. Trading shoulder blocks, slaps, takes down…Evans finally hits a flurry of kicks and a crossbody for two. Evans hung up on the ropes, drive by kick by Masha and a lariat for two! Masha pulls Charli down by the hair and pulls it back in a modified camel clutch. Masha hitting kicks of her own and a running dropkick. Masha slaps Charli back to life…Evans catches her with a suplex! Faceplant to the second buckle! A pair of boot washes! Evans with a knee to the jaw and a fisherman’s suplex for two. Masha and Wvans trading running uppercuts and knees! Masha reverses into a German…Evans back with her own and they get to trading again! Masha with a hard chop but Evans back with a dragon suplex and running knee. It’s a battle of attrition as they slowly get to their knees to throw forearms. They trade flurries of headbutts! Evans with more chest kicks and Masha wants them all! Masha pops back with a fisherman’s driver for two! Evans with a Gory Special style flatliner! Great spot as Masha gets the rope. A defiant Slamovich throwing chops from her knees as they fight in the apron. She gets out of a fireman’s carry and dropkicks Evans to the floor! Masha comes running with a kick but Charli hits a facebuster to the apron! Saito suplex! Short arm lariat! Masha kicks out! Handspring knees to the head! Masha kicks out! Masha with a half and half suplex! Charli looks out but kicks at 2.9! Charli hits a DVD! Kickout! Charli comes running into a spinning kick! Masha hits a package piledriver and Evans is down for the three! What a war!

Winner: Masha Slamovich

Big “Please Come Back” chant for Evans. I concur! It’s 10:15 and we are WAY into overrun time as we head to the main event!

Main Event: Ryan Galeone vs Mike Bennett

Galeone has a huge test tonight, both being in the main event tonight…and being against the returning Mike Bennett. The crowd is pretty split for these guys. Bennet tries to test his power against Galeone but that’s a terrible idea. Bennet fires off some loud chops but takes one of his own that send him out of the ring. He tries his luck again and meets the same fate. Galeone keeps rocking him but Bennet is popping back up with fire in his eyes. Mike hits a headbutt to the stomach…and runs into a big boot that sends him to the floor again. Galeone throws him into a fan and lays in more chops. Bennet fighting back but he gets thrown into the post. They keep the fighting through the whole crowd. Bennet thrown to the ropes and he rebounds with a forearm that finally staggers the big man. Bennet hits another but the third one? He runs into an apron chokeslam. Galeone wants an apron piledriver but Bennet with an arm twist takedown and runs Galeone into the post. Ryan trying to swat Bennet off but he’s taking a lot of punishment….and then he hits a running dropkick that cuts Bennett in half. Ryan to the top but Bennet takes him down and continues to work the arm. Bennet wants him back up and Galeone complies…and lands into a deep armlock but he’s too big and falls into the ropes. Trading chops and Galeone is waking back up…but his arm is clearly injured. Headbutt to the chin and Bennett falls. Ripcord headlock, flying knee and a sky high powerbomb for two! Galeone tries his gutwrench but his arm gives out. Bennet tries to lock up the arm again but Galeone is out. Bennett absorbs a pop up knee and hits a rolling forearm! Both are down! Bennett to the top…Galeone catches and hits a backbreaker for a near fall. Galeone comes running….into a spear…Bennett with a piledriver! Galeone kicks out! Bennet dropkicks the arm, he locks it up…Galeone flips him out. Galeone turns into a spear and another piledriver! Galeone kicks out at one! Galeone walking through superkicks and elbows! Huge lariat clubs Bennett down. Big boot! Slingshot cannonball off the top! Deadlift release powerbomb from Galeone! That’s the three! Galeone picked up a HUGE W tonight!

Winner: Ryan Galeone

Bennett grabs a mic and sits back. He loves Beyond and brings out his tag partner Matt Taven. They hit the ring with Galeone but assure him this isn’t a beatdown scenario. Bennett says Galeone has all the makings of the next big thing. He offers the Code of Honor….Taven blasts him with the ROH tag belt! It IS a beatdown! Teddy Goodz and LMK are out to break it up. Bennett says he’s known Goodz for 20+ years and they’re friends and of course, that doesn’t stop them from beating Goodz down. LMK in there with nut shots for both and a Dudley dog! Goodz uses LMK as a weapon to destroy Taven and Bennett. Goodz gets Coral to fire up DMX’s Up in Here and we close the night in a dance party with Galeone. This was a great hot close in a series of them for Beyond.

And that’s it for this week’s super sized episode of Uncharted Territory. Beyond has really been in a solid groove these past several episodes with hot starts, finishes and the entire roster bringing their A-game to every match, regardless of card placement. We’re a little over a week away from Fete Forever (which just announced Rickey Shane Page vs SLADE) and I expect the crowd to blow the roof of the old home of Beyond. We still have another episode of Uncharted Territory next week and the card is already shaping up great: Masha vs SLADE. Bayne vs McKenna. Carlos Romo v Rhett Titus. Makowski v Adora. Annnnnnnnnd Alex Price & Becca v BUSSY!!! Until then!
