By Cory Strode on 2021-09-25 00:14:00

It's Friday and it's a special 2 hour AEW Rampage coming from the Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City, taped right after Wednesday's Dynamite. Our announcers are Excalibur, Ricky Starks and Taz.

CM Punk vs Powerhouse Hobbs w/Hook

Punk is back to trunks after using tights in his first match at All Out. He starts by kicking Hobbs around the ring, dragging his face across the ropes and going for the GTS early. Hook gets on the apron and Punk charges at him, allowing Hobbs to take control of the match. When Hobbs tosses Punk hard into the corner, the crowd chants for Punk.

Hobbs is able to keep Punk on the mat with strikes and working over Punk on the ropes as they go to picture in picture. Hobbs puts Punk in a bear hug and Punk is able to work his way out and he and Hobbs trade strikes in the middle of the ring. Punks comes out of it with a drop kick, a swinging neck breaker, and then a short arm clothesline. Punk goes to the top and drops Hobbs with a flying elbow drop and a two count.

Punk tries for the GTS, but Hobbs is able to block it and drops Punk for a two count. Hobbs lifts Punk up for a slam and Punk is able to go over into a sleeper. Hobbs gets out with a Belly to Back suplex. Hobbs gets a stampede slam for a two count, and Taz is living and dying with each move. Hobbs goes to the top and Punk follows, and the battle on the top ends with Punk trying for a Rana, but Hobbs holds on. Punk is able to try again and get it the second time and Punk gets a two count.

Punk locks on an arm bar and it switches to a triangle choke. Hobbs is able to lift Punk up and slam him for a two count. They come up and throw hands in the middle of the ring. Punk wins the exchange with a kick Hook gets up on the apron, and when Punk goes for him, he senses Hobbs charging and dodges so that Hobbs runs into Hook. Punk grabs Hobbs and hits the GTS and gets the three count.

Your winner: CM Punk

Great opener and the contrast of Punk's hard strikes and Hobbs' Big Man moves made an entertain match-up.

We get a quick video from Thunder Rosa and why she is ready to fight Jade Cargill and Nyla Rosa, and Cargill and Cargill respond.

The Superkliq (The Young Bucks and Adam Cole) vs Christian Cage and Jurassic Express

Don Callis joins commentary.

We start with Cole and Cage, but Cole tags out before they touch. Matt and Cage work a bit 8until Cage works over Matt in the corner and in the ropes. Cage tags in Jungle Boy and they get some double team moves, and the Bucks try to take over with quick tags, but they have to wait until the fight goes outside the ring and that's where the Bucks and Cole take control. We go to commercial and the match is NOT on the small screen.

We come back to the Bucks still working over JB. JB is able to get the tag to Luchasaurus after a bunch of evading the Bucks. Luchasaurus gets a nice showcase, including choke slamming Cole onto Nick. The Cage is able to come in and get a couple of moves before being cleared out for the Bucks to go back to attacking JB in the ring. JB is able to suplex both Bucks and after a two count, he locks Matt into the Snare Trap. Gallows gets up on the apron, and JB goes to attack leading to Gallows dropping down and then all six men get into the ring for fighting.

Lots of fighting on the ramp, and the Bucks take out Cage with a low blow and JB is tossed off the ramp. In the ring, we get Luchasaurus vs Cole and Cole is able to take him down with kicks. Cole gets the Panama Sunrise, the Bucks follow with the BTE trigger, and Cole ends it with Boom kick to the back of Luchasaurus's head. Cole covers for the three count.

Your Winners: The Superkliq

After the match, Cole and JB are staring at each other in the ring and the Bucks and their entourage celebrate in the ring. This was a Young Bucks match, slower than normal, and a bit shorter, but these teams have worked together a lot, so there wasn't anything new here. Entertaining, lots of choreographed moves and fast paced. It won't change anyone's minds about these guys.

Ethan Page and Scorpio Sky w/Dan Lambert and America's Top Team vs Chris Jericho and Jake Hager

We start with Jericho and Sky in the ring. Sky gets an arm drag, but Jericho answers with chops and a back drop. Jericho then works over Sky in the corner. Hager tags in and they double shoulder tackle Sky and Sky is able to tag in Page. They keep control with a quick tag, but Page is able to get in a kick to drop Jericho and Page spends a LOT of time gloating to the crowd. The fight goes onto the small screen through commercials and Jericho gets to take the beat down.

When we are back on the big screen, Hager is taken out with a leap from Page onto the floor. Page and Sky keep control of Hager with quick tags and keeping him away from his corner. Hager gets a clothesline and both men crawl to the comer, and it's Jericho's time to clean house. Jericho gets a near foll with a Lionsault, and Hager tags in to get a near fall with a Hager bomb. Hager gets the ankle lock, Jericho cuts off Page and puts him in the Walls of Jericho as we end our first hour.

The second hour starts immediately with Lambert on the apron. The holds are broken and Hager is able manhandle Sky, getting a pair of near falls as Jericho goes over the top onto Page. Hager comes off the ropes, and Lambert grabs Hager's leg, tripping Hager and allowing Sky to get the quick rollup and the three count.

Your winners: Scorpio Sky and Ethan Page,

Afterward, Hager is able to grab Lambert and before they can do anything, America's Top Team surround the ring. Lambert escapes and after a standoff, the Top Team MMA guys come into the ring and beat down Hager and Jericho. They take their time with Jericho, subjecting him to a series of attacks.

The segment ends with America's Top Team standing tall.

The Hardy Family Office (Private Party, Butcher and Blade) vs Santana and Ortiz (dressed as the Baseball Furies from the movie The Warriors) and the Lucha Brothers

They start by all eight men going after each other. After the initial fight, the baby faces are in the ring, and they all leap onto the HFO members outside the ring. Everyone is brawling until Butcher is able to power bomb Rey Fenix. Matt Hardy goes to cut the hair of Ortiz.

Orange Cassidy comes from the back and delivers a superman punch to Jack Evans who charges up the ramp toward him. We go to commercial, again, without picture in picture.

When we come back, it's back to in ring work, with each person coming in, hitting a move, rolling out to be replaced by the next person. The final sequence is where Mark Quen takes a fear factor from the Lucha Brothers, a Street Sweeper from Santana and Ortiz and a pin.

Your winners: Santana, Ortiz and the Lucha Brothers.

This match was a pure spot fest, well choreographed, but no story involved. It was fun, fast paced, and had each other guys involved showing off what they can do. As with the Young Bucks match earlier, this was purely for the fans of this style, and won't win anyone over to it.

Backstage, Matt Hardy and Jack Evans is with Tony Schiavone, and Matt says that Penelope Ford will take out Anna Jay. Matt challenges Orange Cassidy to a hair vs hair match with Cassidy against...Jack Evans.

Sammy Guevara and Fuego Del Sol come out with signs, and Miro is right behind them and attacks them from behind. Sammy rains down blows on Miro and Miro shrugs them off and drops him. Del Sol jumps on Miro who grabs Del Sol and tosses him the ground and then tosses him off the stage. Miro then locks Sammy in the Game Over. He lets go of the hold and we go to a pre-tape with Andrade.

Andrade says he will beat Pac again, but this time it will be with honor.

Anna Jay vs Penelope Ford

Both come out alone, but Anna meets Ford on the ramp and brings her down to the ring, violently. Anna then tosses Ford out of the ring and attacks her on the floor Anna tosses Ford corner to corner, hits the Jay kick and then locks in the Queenslayer.

Bunny comes out and Anna lets go of the hold to challenge her, allowing Ford to attack Anna from behind. They go to commercial and again, it's NOT picture in picture. When they come back, Ford and Anna trade shots and Anna is able to lock in a Queenslayer. Ford escapes by backing into the corner. Bunny gets on the apron, and tosses the brass knuckles to Ford while the ref is distracted. Ford nails Anna with the knuckles and covers for the three count.

Your winner: Penelope Ford

Ford and Bunny start a post match beat down and Tay Conti comes out to the make the save. Tay is stopped by Bunny and Ford pops her with the brass knuckles. The Hardy Family Office is at Ringside and stands on the ramp as Orange Cassidy and Kris Statlander come out. They are followed by the Dark Order, the whole group, who run off the Hardy Family Office members.

The Dark Order looks as if they will mend fences, but Evil Uno and Grayson back out without shaking hands.

It's time for the pre-main event interview with Lance Archer, Minoru Suzuki, Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston shouting at each other. Mark Henry says there has been enough talking, and it's time for the main event.

Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston vs Lance Archer and Minoru Suzuki (Unsanctioned Lights Out match)

The lights go out and then come back on, symbolizing that whatever happens, AEW is not liable for.

These four men put together a classic of hold vs hold mat wrestling.

OK, just kidding. This is a brawl and the one I wanted when they had Suzuki show up a few weeks ago. Archer comes out with two fists full of Kendo sticks. As they go to the ring, Archer takes out two of the ringside attendants.

Suzuki and Mox have chairs and swing them at each other. Mox is dropped to the floor and Eddie is able to trade chops with Suzuki. Kingston is able to take down Suzuki and then sets up a table in the corner. They trade blows and Suzuki kicks Kingston through the table. Mox and Archer get in the ring and fight, and they roll to the outside. Archer takes out the ring attendants again and then tosses a third one into them.

Archer gets up on the Apron and choke slams Mox onto the ring attendants. Mox and Suzuki trade chops and when Archer gets in the ring, he has a leather strap and wraps in around Mox's neck and hangs him over the top rope as we go to commercial.

When we get back, Mox's hands are tied behind his back and they are taking the leather strap to Mox. Suzuki keeps up the attack as Archer gets a trash can lid to batter Mox with. Suzuki uses the Kendo stick and Archer and Kingston brawl on the outside for a bit until Eddie is dropped.

As Mox is being taken apart, the crowd starts chanting for Eddie. Mox is able to get in some head butts and Eddie is able to get into the ring and he drops Suzuki and chops Archer in the corner. He follows with an exploder. Suzuki is able to get in a sleeper, and Archer hits Eddie with the Helicoaster.

Suzuki starts putting chairs in the ring and Archer keeps Mox down. They set up the chairs back to back and Archer sets up to hit the Blackout onto the chairs, but we hear Homicide's music.

Yep. Homicide from Ring of Honor.

Archer and Suzuki turn to the ramp to wait for him and Homicide comes in the other side of the ring, takes down Archer with a chair. Homicide gets Mox free. Mox acts like he is still tied up to sucker Suzuki in and he hits a Paradigm shift on the chair. Archer tries to attack and Eddie it able to cut him off and Mox hits Archer with a Paradigm shift. Eddie puts Archer in the trash can and beats it like crazy with the Kendo stick. Eddie then covers Archer for the three count.

Your winners: Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston
