WWE STAR REQUESTS RELEASE FROM COMPANY

By Mike Johnson on 2021-09-24 09:38:00

Several days ago, Mas Luchas reported WWE star Gran Metalik of Lucha House Party requested a WWE release due to "lack of opportunities."

Last night, PWInsider.com independently confirmed that Metalik that the report is correct and the 33 year old has indeed asked for a release.  We are told that of late, both he and Lince Dorado have been seen at multiple TV tapings waiting to speak with WWE management due to unhappiness over how they are currentlybeing used.    There is no word whether Dorado has also requested a release.

Metallik, who worked extensively in Mexico and Japan before signing with WWE, initially debuted in 2016 as part of the Cruiserweight Classic tournament.  He signed with the company later that year with Lucha House Party created in 2018.

AEW's Bryan Danielson has noted in the past that he's wanted to wrestle Metallik, but the opportunity never came about when they were both working for WWE.

WWE did not return a PWInsider.com request for comment.
