CHAVO GUERRERO SR. BOOK RELEASED

By Mike Johnson on 2021-08-23 13:20:00

A new book on Chavo Guerrero Sr. was officially released on 8/17.

Titled, Chavo Guerrero Sr. - Instant Classic, the book was authored by Chavo Guerrero and Kirk Buchner.

Promotional material for the 488 page book notes:

A member of the legendary Guerrero wrestling family, Chavo Guerrero Sr. wrestled all over the world for over thirty-five years. A champion in three countries, Chavo tells the stories of sex, drugs and pro wrestling, and the friends and enemies he made along the way. This is an earnest tale of a man who was proud to be a wrestler, a Mexican-American, but most of all, a Guerrero.

Guerrero had been working on a book at the time of his passing in 2017, so it would appear this release would be made up, in part, of those writings.  Guerrero, 68 at the time of his passing, was the oldest son of lucha libre legend Gori Guerrero.  He had a long, storied career in Mexico and the United States, including a classic feud with Roddy Piper in Los Angeles and a run in All Japan Pro Wrestling where he feuded with Atsushi Onita.  While teaming with brother Hector Guerrero, Chavo worked Mid-South and Championship Wrestling from Florida as well as a top team.

Guerrero may be remembered best by younger fans for his run as Chavo Classic in WWE, where he held the WWE Cruiserweight Championship.
