What are your thoughts on the recent Chris Jericho-Nick Gage match? For me it was sad to see all the unnecessary head shots, used of LED lights, glass, and pizza cutter. 1990s ECW era went out a long time ago especially with what is now known about CTE and related injuries. Yes , I know Gage is King of the Death match and I’m not against matches where the risk is raised but it all seemed so unnecessary. I’m sure I’m am in the minority but I just don’t see the appeal.
Anyone who knows me knows that I don’t like what is known as “garbage wrestling”. I prefer to watch wrestlers work, rather than take actual physical abuse. But as I said on my hotline yesterday, AEW doesn’t market to me. They should give their fans what they want to see.
During the Jericho vs gage "match" Jericho put Gage through a pane of glass. After it shattered I'm sure I saw audience members brushing themselves down after some shards of glass hit them. Are AEW asking for a lawsuit? Spraying your fans with broken glass is totally stupid.
I noticed that as well. If it was real glass, they are crazy and asking for a lawsuit. Even if it’s gimmicked glass, a fan can still get hit in the eye with it. I hope AEW learns from what happened and makes sure to not do it again.
We've seen many wrestlers get a final match, but it's been a long time since we've seen a true "passing of the torch moment". I was thinking about a good way to send off HHH when he's ready to finally end his career as an active wrestler. With his prominence as the architect of NXT, what would you think about a match between HHH and WALTER? They could set it up with rising tensions between the US and UK versions of NXT, vying for supremacy, with this match being some sort of winner take all. It would take a lot of planning, but done right, this could be another great Wrestlemania send-off for one of the greats of our time. What do you think?
That works for me. WALTER is awesome and would deserve that rub.
If Daniel Bryan does land somewhere else, do you see him keeping the "YES" or should he stray away from it? Considering how much of a huge trope it has become now with crowds?
If I am him, I let the fans do what the fans will do. If they want to chant it, cool. If WWE has it trademarked, he can just smile when they do it.
If CM Punk doesn't appear at AEW's show in Chicago, do you think the fans will riot?
I think they would be pretty angry if Punk doesn’t appear. With that said, if a gun is at my head I would say that Punk will be signed, sealed and delivered by then, if he isn’t already, and I would be very confident I would live to tell the story.
