MOOSE VS. SABIN, EDWARDS ASKED TO DO THE UNTHINKABKLE, LAST STOP BEFORE HOMECOMING & MORE: IMPACT WRESTLING ON AXS TV REPORT

By Mike Johnson on 2021-07-29 22:00:00

Impact Wrestling on AXS TV opened with clips of Jay White's Impact debut.

Backstage, Scott D'Amore was interviewed by Gia Miller.  She asked him why he was behind closed doors all week.  He said it's hard to get work done when people constantly barge in.  Tommy Dreamer showed up and said it's been two weeks since Slammiversary and we still don't have a number one contender for Kenny Omega.  D'Amore blew him off and told Dreamer to handle the situation.

Impact Wrestling Tag Team Champions The Good Brothers vs. Chris Bey & NEVER Openweight Champion Jay White

Anderson and White started out.  Anderson was backed into the corner, where he ate a back elbow to the face and was nailed with several chops.  He whipped Anderson into the opposite corner and took him down with a clothesline.  Bey tagged in but Anderson fought back.  They crisscrossed the ring with Bey nailing a dropkick.  Anderson backed Bey into the Good Brothers' corner, scoring a tag to Gallows.

Gallows began measuring and drilling Bey with big shots to the kidney.  Bey was worked over for some time as the Good Brothers tagged in and out but kept kicking out of pinfall attempts.  Bey finally kicked off Gallows as he charged into the corner and hit a flying bodypress.  Bey was too spent to capitalize and the crowd rallied him to make the hot tag to Anderson.  White kicked off an Anderson charge and nailed DDTs on Anderson and Gallows.  White went for a suplex attempt but when Anderson blocked, White took him to the mat and knocked Gallows off the apron.

Backstage, Fire N' Flayva did a promo.  Kiera was promising they would win their titles back.  Tasha was not happy.  Fallah Bahh showed up and asked Tasha if she would go to Homecoming with him.  Kiera thought she meant her and was all excited.  Tasha instead said that of course you would ask me, I wasn't the one who was pinned.  She accepted and then reminded Bahh this wasn't a dance but a tournament.

Matt Striker and D'Lo Brown previewed Homecoming.

Kaleb with A K vs. Taylor Wilde

They locked up and Kaleb took Wilde down several times, but she fired back with some hard kicks.  Kaleb was taken down in a victory roll for a two count.  He attempted a powerbomb.  She slipped out but was nailed with a clothesline.  Kaleb grabbed her in a side chinlock, trying to wear her down.  Kaleb went to drive her into the ropes but she moved and he crotched himself.

Wilde made a comeback with several clotheslines and a head scissors takedown.  She nailed a clothesline in the corner and drilled several forearms but was shoved away.  She rebounded immediately with shots across the back but was drilled with a superkick for a two count.

Kaleb went to use an object form his fanny pack but the referee took it away.  Wilde knocked him to the floor.  Wilde went for a bodypress off the apron but was caught.  She turned it into a DDT on the floor.  Tenille Dashwood tried to interfere but thought better of it.  Wilde nailed a Poisonrana and a back suplex with a bridge for the pin.

Your winner, Taylor Wilde!

Bey nailed a Torture Race into a DVDR for a two count on Anderson.  Bey charged but was cut off with a kick and double-teamed by the Good Brothers.  They went for the Magic Killer but White broke it up.  They dispatched White and nailed the Magic Killer for the pin on Bey.

Your winners, Impact Wrestling Tag Team Champions The Good Brothers!

Backstage, Chris Bey said he thought his first match in Bullet Club would be successful but he takes responsibility for the loss.  White told him he's not in Bullet Club yet as it's not that easy.  He said he was giving Bey a chance to redeem himself. They walked off.

X-Division Champion Josh Alexander declared he wanted competition.  Scott D'Amore said he was trying to give him a few days off after all he's accomplished.  At Homecoming, it will be Josh vs. Black Taurus.

Gia Miller interviewed Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo and asked her if she was trying to accomplish too much.  She scoffed and said she wouldn't ask that of Kenny Omega.  This is the age of the Virtuosa and to accomplish all that she wants to accomplish, she's been training with Invicta Fighting Championships Atomweight Champion Alesha Zappitella.  Purrazzo said she wants to diversify and will enter the Homecoming tournament.  She wouldn't name her partner.

No Way & Fallah Bahh & FinJuice vs. Ace Austin & Shera & Madman Fulton & Rohit Raju.

Fulton and Shera maintained control early.  Bahh was worked over.  Austin tagged in and was sent into Bahh, propelled by Fulton.  The crowd chanted for Bahh to make a comeback.  Ace started nailing his right hands but they had no effect.  Austin cut him off with a kick but couldn't budge the big man.  Bahh sat down during a sunset flip attempt.

Fallah's partners and the crowd rallied Bahh to make a tag.  Finlay tagged in and worked over Rohit, then hit a bodypress onto all of Rohit's partners, taking them down off the apron.

Shera tagged in and cut off Finlay.  He went for a suplex but Juice saved Finlay and they nailed a double dropkick.  Robinson hit a pescado on Shera to the floor.  Raju cut off Finlay and nailed a gourdbuster.  No Way drilled him with a big right hand but was grabbed by Fulton.  No Way was drilled with a Black Hole Slam.  Bahh went to elevated Fulton but Ace kicked him in the face.  Bahh tried to fight them off. Fulton came off the ropes with a knee strike.  Ace came off with a spinning strike and sent Bahh to the floor.  Austin nailed a Fosberry Flop to the outside, taking everyone out.  Finlay nailed him.  Raju and Finlay battled but Finlay nailed Trash Panda for the pin.

Your winners, No Way & Fallah Bahh & FinJuice vs. Ace Austin & Shera & Madman Fulton & Rohit Raju!

Backstage, Gia Miller tried to get word with Impact Wrestling Champion Kenny Omega.  Don Callis allowed it.  Omega came out and thought he was signing for a fan.  Callis explained that she has a job here because he's the champ.  Omega said everything is great and nothing can wrong at this point.  Tommy Dreamer showed up and said that in two weeks, they are going to have a number one contender's Battle Royal with the winner earning a title shot at Emergence.  Callis asked why he was able to make matches now.  Callis said he was going to put Impact out of business like he did ECW.  Callis blamed Gia Miller.  Omega said he was going to go to the ring and deal with this.

FinJuice were doing a promo when Jay White and Chris Bey attacked them and threw them into some doors and production equipment.  White told the beaten Finlay he was never, ever going to beat him again.

Kenny Omega, Don Callis and The Good Brothers came to the ring.  Everything was going great.  They left Callihan laying in a pool of his own blood at Slammiversary.   The Good Brothers beat White and Bey tonight.  Callis said they want Kenny Omega to compete at Emergence.  Omega is the busiest World Champion of all time and makes Ric Flair look like a slacker.  Omega has been everywhere and done everything and now they think they can bleed every last drop of blood from Omega.  Sami Callihan hacked in.  He came out and said that if he had to keep hearing this, he was going to jump off a cliff.  These guys are supposed to be the best in the world but all he sees are a "bunch of b**ches."  The crowd started chanting that.

Callihan mocked Omega for being worked to death and said he's lucky Sami didn't beat him to death.  Callihan said he's not done with Omega and he's going to win the battle royal in two weeks.  Then, he's going to fight Omega.  Two weeks is too long to wait so he spoke to Scott D'Amore, so next week is Callihan & two partners vs. Omega and The Good Brothers.  Callihan said that he might get them in the parking lot of jump the railing.    They dared Callihan to do it because he was alone but AEW's Elite Hunter Kazarian hit the ring and attacked them, clearing the ring.  The crowd chanted, "Welcome back."

Backstage, Tommy Dreamer welcomed Kazarian back.  He said that they and someone else will face The Elite next week.  He will get them a partner.  Kazarian wanted it to be Dreamer.  Dreamer said they need someone better.  Callihan asked who does he have.   Dreamer whispered the name.  Callihan said that person was never going to go for it.  Dreamer said he'll get it done.

A video showed the return of Su Yung and Kimber Lee, who was now in makeup similar to Yung.

Backstage, Brian Myers said everyone was concerned he didn't have a partner but he called someone who hates Tommy Dreamer as much as he does, Raven.  Raven suggested Beulah McGuillicuty.  He told Sam to give him the number.  It was the old ECW 900 Hotline.  Now that's funny.  Myers wasn't happy and said it his wife fault for giving him any responsiblity.  Myers Facetimed Francine.  She thanked him but wanted to know why she was his second choice.  No one would love to beat the hell out of Dreamer more than her but he asked Tenille and Beulah and probably a lot of others.  Myers realized she was watching the show right now.  She ripped him and hung up on him.  Myers blamed Beale.

Violent by Design vs. Rich Swann & Willie Mack

Mack and Swann started off hot with some nice double team maneuvers.  Swann nailed a dive to the outside.  After a commercial, Deaner took control and worked over Swann, scoring several near falls.  Rhino tagged in and rocked Swann with a tackle.  Rhino worked over Swann in the corner with big right hands.  He argued with the referee.  Rhino whipped Swann into a short arm clothesline.  Swann tried to make a comeback but was powerslammed by Deaner for a close two count.  Swann went and over in the corner but Deaner snatched his leg to prevent him from getting away and making a tag.  Swann finally kicked him off and made the hot tag to Mack.

Mack cleaned house with a series of leaping kicks and strikes.  Mack charged Deaner in the corner but was kicked away.  Mack nailed a moonsault for a two count.  Deaner came back with a rolling neckbreaker for a two count.  He knocked Swann off the apron.  VBD nailed a double elevated neckbreaker for another two count on Swann.  Swann ducked a clothesline and hit a sliding kick on Deaner to the outside.  He had made a blind tag to Swann who nailed a cutter on Rhino for a two count.  Rhino cut him off with a Gore into the buckles and placed him on the top rope.  Mack returning with a stunner on Rhino.  Swann hit a 450 splash off the top for the pin.

Your winners, Rich Swann & Willie Mack!

At Swinger's Palace, Matt Cardona and Chelsea Green wanted to know who had the odds in their favor for the Homecoming tournament.  John E. Bravo said they didn't know all of the teams so Swinger wanted to enter an official team from the casino.  He told Bravo to give them the best odds.  Bravo tried to explain that's not how odds work.  W. Morrisey showed up and told Alisha to tell her husband Eddie that after this weekend, he was never coming home safe and sound to her or their child ever again.

Backstage, Eddie Edwards said no one cares for W. Morrisey and he has he cares for.  He had Morrisey beat at Slammiversary and in the parking lot.  This Saturday, they'll have a hardcore match at Homecoming and Impact Wrestling is Eddie Edwards.  Tommy Dreamer showed up and asked him to face with Kazarian and Callihan next week.  Edwards questioned it.  Dreamer said he had to once wrestle his best friend to get the title back home.  He had to do it.  He is asking Callihan to trust him because the company and the fans need him to do it.  Dreamer said he was sorry and if Callihan does something, Dreamer will be the first person to jump on Sami.  Edwards says he trusts Dreamer with his life, so he will do it.

Moose vs. Chris Sabin

They went right at each other.  Sabin went after Moose's legs early.  Sabin scored a two count with a sunset flip.  Moose went for the uranage but Sabin turned it into a pinning combination, then cinched in a figure four leglock.  Moose pulled himself to the outside to save himself.  Sabin followed by Moose ragdolled him into the side of the steel ring steps.  That looked and sounded nasty.

Sabin was almost counted out.  He returned to the ring, where Moose tried to smother him with a boot to the head.  Moose nailed a big dropkick.  He kneeled on Sabin's face.  Moose nailed a big Beale toss across the ring.  Moose set him up on the apron outside and chopped him hard.  Moose teased another but instead ripped at Sabin's face.  He told Sabin his win was a fluke and pointed in his face.  Sabin bit his finger and fought back.  Moose went to chop him but Sabin moved and Moose hit his hand, hurting it.  Sabin hit a bodypress off the ropes to the floor on Moose.

Moose was tossed back into the ring, where Sabin nailed a running enziguri for a two count.  Sabin kept nailing right hands but Moose dared him to bring it.  Sabin nailed a superkick which finally took Moose down to the mat.  Sabin went to the top but Moose met him there and bit him on the face.  Sabin shoved him  off and nailed a tornado DDT off the top for a near fall.  Sabin went for Cradleshock but Moose raked his eyes.   Moose nailed the spear and scored the pin.

Your winner, Moose!

A dejected Sabin nailed a flying bodypress on Moose after but Moose rolled out.  Sabin nailed a suicide dive and they brawled but were pulled apart.

That's it for this week!
