While promoting Disney's Jungle Cruise, The Rock denied there was anything to a potential WWE return to ETOnline.com.
"There's nothing," Dwayne Johnson said.
This November will be the 25th anniversary of Rock's WWF debut at the 1996 Survivor Series.
It should be pointed out that certainly if the Rock is returning at some point, he and WWE would want it to be as hidden as possible in advance.
Jungle Cruise, based on the iconic Disney ride of the same name, hits theaters and Disney+ on 7/30, finally being released after a COVID-19 pandemic sparked delay.
The film will feature Johnson as the captain of a small riverboat that takes a group of travelers through a jungle filled with dangerous animals and reptiles. Emily Blunt and Jesse Plemons will also star in the film. Johnson had been working with Disney on updating their classic Jungle Cruise ride to coincide with the film, with a newer version of the ride just debuting in California's Disneyland.
Promotional material for the film, which will be released in both theaters and streaming on Disney+, notes, "Inspired by the famous Disneyland theme park ride, Disney’s Jungle Cruise is an adventure-filled, rollicking thrill-ride down the Amazon with wisecracking skipper Frank Wolff and intrepid researcher Dr. Lily Houghton. Lily travels from London, England to the Amazon jungle and enlists Frank’s questionable services to guide her downriver on La Quila—his ramshackle-but-charming boat. Lily is determined to uncover an ancient tree with unparalleled healing abilities—possessing the power to change the future of medicine. Thrust on this epic quest together, the unlikely duo encounters innumerable dangers and supernatural forces, all lurking in the deceptive beauty of the lush rainforest. But as the secrets of the lost tree unfold, the stakes reach even higher for Lily and Frank and their fate—and mankind’s—hangs in the balance
