The WWE has Randy Orton murder The Fiend/Bray Wyatt, by burning him alive on PPV, spends the next couple months building up for when he comes back to life to get his revenge, only to have him lose the revenge match, because Alexa turned on him without any real explanation, and hasn't even been mentioned on TV in about two months, while Alexa is on TV every week, doing a watered down version of the same gimmick, and even, seemingly, removing him from the story during a video package explaining the history of this version of Alexa on Raw this last Monday.  My question is, why did they even bring him back to life if they were going to just totally ignore him like this?

That’s a great question.  I wish I had a great answer.  It’s what they do is probably the best I can come up with.

How is WWE going to handle some characters like The Fiend when the shows go live in front of fans?  It seems his whole act wouldn’t work in front of a live crowd.

They certainly were able to do a lot of things at The Thunderdome that they can’t (or at least shouldn’t) do in front of a live crowd.  Frankly, I am happy about that because I am not a big fan of the cinematic stuff.  My guess is if/when they bring him back, the presentation will be like it was back when they ran in front of crowds.

What is Joel Gertner up to these days?

He does signings and conventions.  I believe he also sells real estate but don’t hold me that.

The first episode of Dynamite on TNT drew 1.4 million viewers, if I’m not mistaken.  After about a year and a half, that number waned to an average of 800,000.  I know the pandemic was a factor, and I know AEW is being heavily compensated for the move, but would Turner have wanted to move AEW for the hockey deal if AEW’s TV audience GREW instead of SHRANK, even if they only gained half as many viewers as they lost?

If AEW was drawing 1.4 million viewers every Wednesday night, I think that they would have kept their regular slot and only been moved during the playoffs.  That is a strong number and they wouldn’t want to mess with it.  Hopefully, they can establish themselves on TBS and not have to worry about getting moved around in the future.

My question is regarding AEW's move from TNT to TBS. Do you feel the network change is a step back for AEW? I understand they will still have specials on TNT, but being taken off WarnerMedia's premier network and moved to their secondary network doesn't seem like a step forward to me.

I think in a perfect world, they would stayed on TNT.  Once the network got hockey rights, they made it pretty clear that they value real sports over wrestling.  Tony Khan did what he could to get concessions but it’s hard not to see going from TNT to TBS as a step backward for AEW.
