We see highlights from the previous episode, including a mysterious hand stealing Biggins Bucks from what appears to be a member of PME’s gear bag.
The siren sounds, and it’s time to cash in your Biggins Bucks. Philly Collins is in his locker room, and can’t find his Biggins Bucks. Obviously, not happy, Collins goes on the prowl looking for the other wrestlers.
The wrestlers are gathering, settling up with Pedro DeLuca, the CFO of AIW. Pedro announces that he expects the wrestlers would need at least 2000 Biggins Bucks to enter the Biggins Cup tournament.
We head to the ring for a match as Absolute Intense Champion Josh Bishop (with Wes Barkley) defends the titles against Colin Delaney. Colin is using his technical wrestling skill and veteran know-how to get an advantage. Josh Bishop attempts a low-blow, but Colin blocks it. Bishop grabs the titles, but Colin ducks and Wes Barkley gets hit. Delaney saves himself from an Awesome Bomb and rolls to the stage. Delaney tries for the step over Ace Crusher, and Bishop hits a big boot. Awesome Bomb from the stage into the ring, and Bishop gets the pinfall.
In the back, Ziggy Haim is talking to Derek Dillinger and gives him her Biggins Bucks, which would give Dillinger 5000 Biggins Bucks, by my math.
Wes Barkley is settling up with Pedro, with 5500 Biggins Bucks. Clearly more than he actually won in matches. So I guess we have an idea of whose hand got into Philly Collins’ gear bag.
Steve Guy tells us the top eight earners will advance to the Biggins Cup tournament. The top four will wrestle tonight to determine their seeds in the tournament. Wes Barkley is in first, Derek Dillinger is in second, and PB Smooth, Tre Lamar, Ethan Wright, and The Duke are currently tied for third. Pedro, the AIW CFO, offers a solution that those four wrestle tonight to break the tie, but Joseline Navarro offers another solution: she splits her Biggins Bucks between her 40 Acres teammates, kicking Ethan Wright and The Duke out of the top four. Since Wright and The Duke are now tied, Pedro suggests they wrestle to determine the fifth and sixth seeds. The Duke doesn’t want to wrestle more than he has to, so he allows Wright to be fifth and he’ll take sixth.
There’s another tie with three competitors for the last two spots, so Pedro announces a play-in round by random draw. Mikey Montgomery will take on Dom Garrini, and Kaplan will take on the winner of the Bankrupt Battle Royal.
We’re in the arena for the Bankrupt Battle Royal. All of the wrestlers who didn’t win enough Biggins Bucks to enter the tournament are eligible. Ziggy Haim is the first to be eliminated. Eliminations happen pretty fast until we’re down to the final four: Philly Collins, Marino Tenaglia, Eric Taylor, and Brian Carson. Taylor eliminated Tenaglia, then Tenaglia got Taylor to shake his hand a la Sid and Hogan at Rumble ’92. Collins (with Tenaglia’s help) eliminated Taylor. Down to Carson and Collins, two guys screwed out of Biggins Bucks throughout the series. They eliminate each other. As the referees confer, Razor Sharpe, who I guess was hiding on the floor, rolls in the ring and is declared the winner and Kaplan’s opponent in the wild card round of the tournament.
Four-way elimination match to determine the top four seeding in the tournament:
Wes Barkley vs. Derek Dillinger (w/ Ziggy Haim) vs. Pretty Boy Smooth vs Tre Lamar. Joseline Navarro is ringside, supporting both her 40 Acres teammates. Barkley throws powder into Pretty Boy Smooth’s eyes. Smooth grabs Lamar, thinking he’s Barkley and hits a chokeslam on his partner. Low blow, and Dillinger and Barkley pin Smooth. So we know Pretty Boy Smooth is the four seed, taking on Ethan Wright. Dillinger and Barkley continue to work together to go after Tre Lamar until Dillinger and Barkley argue about who would get the pin on Lamar. Haim, who is still ringside, has enough of Dillinger and Barkley arguing with each other and attacks Lamar on her own. Joseline returns to the arena to take care of Ziggy. Dillinger hits Barkley with a sunset bomb, but Lamar hits a froggy elbow on Dillinger to eliminate him. Derek Dillinger is now the third seed and will take on The Duke. Josh Bishop finally comes ringside and hits Lamar with a title belt. Barkley hits the Stroke and pins Lamar, giving himself the one seed and Lamar the two seed.
As we end the Go for Broke series, we have our competitors for the Chandler Biggins Memorial Cup Tournament, which will take place at the Odeon in Cleveland on July 30.
Block A:
#4 Pretty Boy Smooth vs #5 Ethan Wright
#1 Wes Barkley vs Kaplan or Razor Sharpe
Block B:
#3 Derek Dillinger vs #6 The Duke
#2 Tre Lamar vs Dom Garrini or Mikey Montgomery
Before that, AIW returns to the Odeon in Cleveland on June 18 for Major Announcement, featuring Swoggle, Matt Cardona, Brian Myers (making his AIW return), and Smart Mark Sterling taking on the quartet of To Infinity and Beyond and the Rip City Shooters.
