ROB VAN DAM RETURNING TO ECW ARENA THIS SUNDAY NIGHT

By Mike Johnson on 2021-05-15 13:02:00

WWE Hall of Famer and former ECW Champion Rob Van Dam will be making a special appearance tomorrow Sunday 5/16 at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, the site of some of his greatest in-ring performances.    This will be the first pro-wrestling centric event hosted by the legendary venue since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Arena will be hosting a signing with RVD as well as a live RVD stage show and a WWE Icons: Rob Van Dam documentary watch-along.  Tickets for the event are $65 with additional autographs priced at $20.  Van Dam is planning to bring the original ECW World Television Championship to the event for photo-ops with the fans.

Van Dam commented on his return to Philadelphia during an interview with The Northeast Times:

"I’ve got so many good memories from having so much fun back in the late ’90s there and it’s always cool to visit, feel that energy,” Van Dam said. “The city has a certain energy. I feel it in the people, I look forward to going to Tony Luke’s and even though I wasn’t born here, it’s kind of a home because I walk around everyone knows me they think I lived there. A lot did of ECW wrestlers did, so they didn’t know I was flying in from the other coast, I appreciate that. It’s like an accepting feeling. NYC does it to me as well. In Philly, I’d be walking down the street, a garbage truck will go by and they’ll yell RVD!”

Masks will be required for all in attendance, per current Pennsylvania State rules.
