How come Smackdown is so much better than Raw when it’s produced by the same company?
I think it comes down to FOX wanting a more “sports centric” product why WWE creative can do “their thing” on Monday nights. I wish FOX would buy the rights to Raw.
And, why is Raw so, so bad? It seems like they are trying to get viewers to change the channel.
I think it’s all about the creative process. It needs to be blown up. What they are doing just isn’t resonating. Unfortunately I don’t see any way that happens.
I saw that Peacock subscription rose and they credit WWE for at least part of that. Do you agree?
I do. That was the place in the US to watch WrestleMania and they gave WWE fans a great deal. I don’t know how many of the people who subscribed did so for WWE but they had over a million people paying for The WWE Network. I think it’s far that they got more than that to join Peacock for WWE, due to the lower cost.
I took your advice and started watching NXT UK. It’s great! Why is it that the company that produces Raw can also do a show that good?
I think the easy answer is that Vince McMahon doesn’t have his fingerprints on it. Last I heard, Shawn Michaels and Jeremy Borash were in charge and can do pretty much what they want. I wish they were booking Raw.
I watched the Roddy Piper Biography on A & E. Did Vince McMahon really pretend he was talking to Roddy Piper in Hell? What is wrong with him?
I too thought it was a pretty bizarre thing to do, but that’s Vince for you. And to be fair, I don’t know what their personal relationship was, maybe Roddy would have thought it was funny. I tend to doubt it, but you never know.
