The lovely Quinn McKay welcomes us to this week's show. Our main event has big time TV Title ranking implications, Eli Isom vs. LSG.
We see the end of Fred Yehi's Gauntlett Pure Rules victory last week, including comments from Yehi, he's in the business of breaking people.
We get ANOTHER incredible promo from Brian Johnson. Seriously, this guy has cash written all over him, as in the next time ROH comes to town, I am buying a ticket to see Johnson. He's come a long way. The epic trilogy with Danhausen concludes tonight. Danhausen gives us a little promo of his own. I shouldn't love this, I really shouldn't. But I do.
Mark Briscoe joins Ian Riccaboni and Caprice Coleman at the announce desk.
Brian Johnson vs. Danhausen
Danhausen has slimmed down to 300lbs. Johnson insists Todd Sinclair remove all Danhausen's toys from the apron. Lockup, Johnson gets the edge here and jaw jacks. Side headlock takedown by Danhausen, Johnson counters with a head scissors. Danhausen counters it into a leglock into a fron facelock. Arm twist by Johnson, he drives the knees into the back and applies a side headlock. Shoulder tackle by Johnson, he blocks a hip toss but Danhausen flips around and is eventually able to get to. Johnson blocks a suplex and nails a stun gun. Spike cutter by Johnson for 2. BTw Biscoe is doing a great job on commentary. He's really analytical. Johnson chokes Danhausen on the middle rope and jerks him back in the ring as we go to commercial.
We're back and Johnson with a clothesline for 2. Johnson trash talks but gets rolled up for a pair of rollups for 2. Snap German by Danhausen. Danhausen with a Northern Lights but Johnson blocks a GTS. Danhausen with a German for 2 and he backdrops Johnson over the top. He follows Johnson out and hits a hurancanrana on the floor. Eye poke by Johnson, Danhausen hits the GoodnightHausen but Johnson's feet take down Sinclair, who can't make the count. Johnson rolls him up with his feet on the ropes but Sinclair sees it. Low blow and a Trust the Process by Johnson and he scores the pin.
WINNER: Brian Johnson
Johnson has the mic and says it's about time he got some mic time. A Meccade of Excellence is upon us. He puts the entire ROH roster on notice. It's Mecca vs. Everybody.
Johnson and Mark Briscoe exchange unpleasantries.
Jonathan Gresham and Jay Lethal will square off on ROH's 500th Episode. That'll be awesome in 2 weeks.
LSG and Eli Isom talk about their upcoming main event match. Both these guys have so much upside, both in the ring and on the mic.
Eli Isom vs LSG
Code of Honor adhered to. Go behind by Isom, reversed by LSG, we have a series of rollups until both men back off. Lockup, we gets some pushing and shoving at the break. Test of strength, neither can get a clear edge, LSG with a headlock takedown, Isom reverses. Arm bar by Isom into a big arm drag takedown. Isom gets a much deeper armbar here. Forearm Smash by LSG, he sends Isom to the apron and nails a dropkick, Isom to the floor.
LSG follows him and clubs him hard on the outside with forearms and chops. LSG works really well for me as a heel. He throws ISom back in and scores a 2 count. Double forearm by LSG for 2. LSG nails a cravate. LSG punches out and hits an uppercut but misses a dropkick. Swinging neckbreaker by LSG for 2 as we go to commercial.
We're back and both men are down as a result of a shoulderblock. Forearm exchanges, in the vein of strong style. Isom with a Northern Lights into a running and a kneelift. Sidewinder suplex by Isom, LSG rolls out. ISom nails a moonsault on the outside. Isom with a trap German for 2. LSG blocks a suplex and sends Isom into the corner. Chops by Isom. Rock a Bye Baby by LSG into a springboard forearm. LSG with a Saintsplosion for 2. Ground and pound by LSG. LSG to the top but Isom meets him there. Headbutt by LSG. He hits a cross body but Isom catches him and drives him to the canvas.
Spear by Isom sends both to the outside. Those chops have opened up Isom's chest. They exchange palm strikes on the outside. LSG gets the better of it and Isom just barely beats the count. We get a fored up forearm exchange. They trade 2's. Eli blocks the Starjammer and hits the Promise (brainbuster) for the pin.
WINNER: Eli Isom
Post match Code of Honor adhered to. We haven't seen the last of this.
