IS THIS THE RIGHT TIME FOR WWE NETWORK TO MIGRATE, TWO PEOPLE THAT SHOULD BE ON A BIG WWE EVENT MANIA WEEK, DARBY ALLIN THE NEXT JOHN CENA AND MORE

Darby Allin gets thrown through glass, and more, on the PPV on Sunday and they showed up without a scratch on Dynamite.  How can AEW not realize that Allin should have at least been banged up?

I have no idea, but I agree with you 100 percent.  It’s no different than when Randy Orton was burned and bloodied on Raw one week, and perfectly fine the next.  It’s lax booking, at best.  What is scary is the pattern I am seeing.  First he no sells a beat down from Brian Cage, now this.  I like Allin a lot and see a ton of potential in him but at his size he should not be booked like the second coming of John Super Cena.  It’s totally unbelievable to me.

Maybe it’s just me, but the timing of this seems a bit off from WWE’s perspective. Stop and think about it: you’re telling your US subscribers that days before your flagship event, you’re closing down, and they’ll have to start over with a new service which doesn’t yet have all the same content and functionality, plus it may well not be supported by your streaming platform of choice. Strikes me as something of an “own goal”. Thoughts?

It depends on how you look at perspective.  By signing a multi-year deal with NBCU, they are going to make more money in rights fees for the Network.  When a company makes a deal like that, they give up some of the control that they used to have.  Peacock wants WrestleMania to start off of their WWE run, so they get it.  I agree, I would have liked to have seen more preparation for the move but money talks and everything else walks.

If WM plans go the way it seems they are going to go, in almost every title match there will be at least one person of color... Lashley, Bianca, Sasha, Roman, Nia Jax and possibly Naomi depending on where that goes, Big E and Apollo depending on who has the title, The Street Prophets, New Day and Hurt Business in the tag division, Asuka, R-Truth or Bad Bunny, and maybe Keith Lee if he challenges for the U.S. title. That's almost, if not every, title. And I don't recall this ever happening on a PPV before. I also think it was organic and the before mentioned just are the great talent right now. Can you think of another time this was the case?

Honestly, I never thought about it so I can’t say one way or the other.  To me, that is the real story here, that it doesn’t stand out to me.  It’s just the way it should be.

I know Dave hates MITB, I do as well and really am not a fan of gimmick PPVs like MITB and HIAC. Do you ever see these no longer happening and instead just using a gimmick match to enhance a storyline or card like they used too?

Ever is a long time but I clearly think Vince McMahon loves the insipid concept so as long as he is around the briefcase probably will be as well.

Do you see any NXT UK championships being defended at WM or even on the WM week Takeover?

First off, Kay Lee Ray and WALTER are two of the most legit, tremendous champions in all of wrestling, bar no one.  They are awesome and they deserve to defend on the biggest week of the year.  If both of them aren’t at least on Takeover, which is a two day event, it’s a travesty.
