MOXLEY VS. KENTA, PIRATES AT WRESTLEMANIA, OWENS' SECOND CHANCE TO DIVE OFF THE PIRATE SHIP & MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2021-02-20 10:00:00

How is New Japan going to have KENTA vs. Jon Moxley next week if KENTA was just in the States for AEW?  Wouldn't that mean he'd have to violate quarantine for international travel?  Who do you think will win?

He lives in Los Angeles, so he's Stateside unless he goes to Japan to tour.  So, no travel issues for him appearing here.  My guess is Moxley retains the title.

I saw Tony Khan got a new position in the Jaguars.  Do you think he has to give up AEW time and work?

I don't think so.  It's all in Jacksonville currently and with technology, one can pretty much do their job from anywhere.  He's been juggling different businesses since AEW launched,  so unless there's something about his new position I don't know (and I know zero about the business of football I will admit),  why would this be any different?

WWE changed the Elimination Chamber design years ago.  Do you think they kept the original structure?

I would think if it's anywhere, it's in their warehouse in Connecticut.  If not, it was trashed.

Last year, Kevin Owens talked of wanting to jump off the Pirate Ship at Raymond James Stadium.  Do you think he gets to do it or is it too obvious now?

I think if Owens can get it cleared by creative, it happens, no different from last year.  It's all about whether WWE and the Stadium clear the spot - and whether the spot even makes sense for his match.  If he's in, for example, the Andre the Giant Battle Royal, it doesn't make sense for him to climb the mast and hit a swanton, right?

Do you think WWE brings in John Pierre-LaFite or Paul Burchill to play pirates for Wrestlemania?  Where are they today?

No.  I think if they want pirates, they have an endless supply of NXT talents to use as extras in the Performance Center.   LaFite is still going strong as PCO in Ring of Honor.  Burchill is pretty much retired and working as an EMT the last I heard in Kentucky.
