The Great O-Khan and Will Ospreay, with Bea Priestley vs. Satoshi Kojima and Yota Tsuji. O-Khan pins Tsuji with an Eliminator.
El Phantasmo, Taiji Ishimori, Jado and Gedo vs. Minoru Suzuki, DOUKI, Yoshinobu Kanemaru and El Desperado. Jado comes to the ring looking like he spent time in the weight room. He looked jacked and cut. Phantasmo called him “Big Poppa Pump”. Funny. Suzuki-Gun attacks before the bell. Suzuki tried to remove Gedo’s arm with a Fujiwara armbar. Wild match. Phantasmo pins DOUKI after a loaded super kick.
Kevin Kelly states that Japan is under a state of emergency due to COVID-19, which means the event had to finish within two hours prior to 8 pm (Japan time).
This could affect New Japan event times and card lineups going forward.
Yujiro Takahashi, EVIL, and Dick Togo vs. Kazuchika Okada, Tomohiro Ishii and Hirooki Goto. Goto pins Togo with a GTR.
Kota Ibushi, Hiroshima Tanahashi and Tomoaki Honma vs. Tetsuya Naito, Shingo Takagi and SANADA. Naito pins Honma with Destino. Ibushi and SANADA have words with each other. Kevin Kelly stated that Ibushi said in an interview that he wants one belt to represent the Double Championship, essentially unifying both titles into one. New Japan has not commented, but Ibushi did put the idea out there.
Master Wato and SHO vs. Hiromu Takahashi and BUSHI. Hiromu hit SHO with a Sunset Bomb to the floor at the beginning of the match. Brutal. Wato took a beating while his partner was on the floor. SHO recovered and paired off with Hiromu. Great stuff. Wato pinned BUSHI with a jackknife roll up. Master Wato’s pin was a surprise since BUSHI challenged Wato to a match on February 10. Their rivalry should build over the coming events.
