MLW NYC RETURN UPDATE, MLW-LUCHA UNDERGROUND CONNECTION, LIO RUSH, WHAT TALENTS ARE SLATED FOR PUSHES AND MORE MLW NOTES

By Mike Johnson on 2021-01-07 10:59:00

An official announcement is forthcoming and will be made when a new date is locked in, but the planned MLW return to New York City next month at the Melrose Ballroom is 100% postponed.

MLW Champion Jacob Fatu vs.ACH will headline the 1/20 episode of MLW Fusion TV.

There is talk of new MLW Middleweight Champion Lio Rush defending the title outside of the promotion, specifically internationally.

Gino Medina is earmarked for a big push going forward.

Septimo Dragon has undergone three surgeries since his motorcycle was clipped in Mexico and was moved to a larger hospital to continue treatment.  He's extremely lucky to be alive and there is zero timetable as to a return as this is going to be a long, long process.   PWInsider.com sends him and his family the best.

Eagle-eared readers have written about Salina de la Renta dropping the line last night that she had received a phone call from "Boyle Heights."  Boyle Heights was the home of the El Rey Network's Lucha Underground Temple.  In asking around today, we are told that wasn't a line tossed in for no reason and this was the latest bread crumb dropped in a story that dates back to the Pulp Fusion digital shows where it was claimed De La Renta owed "dangerous" people a lot of money.  So, stay tuned as this is said to be part of a much larger deal that will play out over the course of the year.  With Mil Muertes now aligned with Saline, this is just speculation, but perhaps Dario Cueto is out there somewhere, I guess?

The plan going forward for Injustice is to have the stable feuding with CONTRA-Unit.

Myron Reed will be getting some repackaging going forward and is slated for a larger push going forward.

There was a decision to roll back a planned hard push for last night's Kings of Colosseum broadcast due to everything that was going on in Washington, DC.  The episode is available on YouTube by clicking here and will air this weekend on BeIN Sport.  Myron Reed vs. Lio Rush easily steals the episode.

Scheduled for next week's edition of MLW Fusion:

*MLW Tag Team Champions The Von Erichs vs. Los Parks.

*Salina de la Renta producing the episode.
