MUCH RESPECT FOR HOW AEW PAID TRIBUTE TO JON HUBER

How did Jon Huber’s death hit you?  For me, even though more popular wrestlers have died over the years it hit really hard!  He was just so universally loved and I really connected with the stories of him loving being a dad since I’m one myself.

It made me really sad.  The guy was so young and such a well loved figure.  It was hard to watch the tribute show because it made me so sad.  They guy was universally loved and that came out on Dynamite.  Sudden deaths are hard enough, but when they happen to a young, vital person, it’s just so much harder to process.   As I said before, I have nothing but praise for how Tony Khan and AEW paid tribute to Huber.

I know you’re down on AEW often, but what did you think of the tribute show to Brodie Lee?  I thought it was very well done.

The show was fantastic.  I have nothing but praise for Tony Khan.  As for being down on AEW, it's just that I while I appreciate great in-ring work, I appreciate story telling, logic and characters just as much.  For three months last year, they were my favorite show.  I hope they get back to that.

Like you I haven’t been a huge fan of The Dark Order as a group.  Mainly because they can’t seem to decide whether they’re a serious group or a comedy group.  How do you think AEW should move forward with the faction now that Brodie is gone?

Hmm, that is a hard call.  To me, the group is what you said, kind of just there.  Personally, I would move the workers in it on to other things.  There are a lot of talented guys in the DO.  I would like to see them get a chance to show what they can do.

From what I’ve gathered, the illness that led to John Huber’s death is a bit of a mystery.  According to his wife he was tested multiple times for Covid in an effort to try and figure it out with each test coming back negative.  Do we really not I now exactly what caused the lung issue?

We don’t know because the family hasn’t shared what the cause was.  They are under no obligation to do so in my opinion.  If they want to release it, fine.  If they don’t, that’s fine too.  I am not someone who thinks that the public has a right to every single thing.

If you are Tony Khan would you capitalize on the fact that he was already well liked by the IWC and the connections to Brodie and sign Erick full time after tonight’s appearance?

If I were Khan, I would sign Erick if I had an idea for him in the company.  He is very talented and I think would be an asset to AEW.  I wouldn’t sign him just to curry favor with the IWC though, that’s bad karma to me.
