KEITH LEE ON COURSE TO WIN ROYAL RUMBLE 2021

By Kendall Jenkins on 2020-12-18 11:05:00

Royal Rumble 2021 may still be over four months away, but that hasn’t stopped wrestling fans getting pretty excited about this epic clash. This is because it’s widely expected to produce Keith Lee as a winner, although there are expected to be major challenges from the likes of Roman Reigns, and Daniel Bryan could even put in a surprise performance.

The showdown will take place on Friday April 30 at the Tropicana Field in Florida. As the Royal Rumble is one of the major highlights of the WWE calendar, it’s no surprise to find that big efforts are underway to ensure that fans will be able to attended this star-studded event.

It’s too early to say whether the Covid-19 pandemic will have abated by mid-spring, but there are expected to be millions of wrestling fans watching the pay-per-view event. Plus it’s worth noting that many top betting sites are already accepting bets for who could win the 2021 Royal Rumble. Just read this Betstars review from CaptainGambling, and you’ll see why this site could give you a good idea of who’s most likely to claim the Royal Rumble title.

Unsurprisingly it’s Keith Lee who’s at the top of most bookmakers’ lists to win this wrestling showdown. The 36-year old has been in commanding form over the past few years, although it’s going to be interesting to see whether Lee can bounce back from being sent back to the WWE Performance Center. Lee only came on the WWE main roster in late 2019, but he has already captured the attention of many wrestling fans. Much of this comes from his signature moves like the Big Bang Catastrophe and the Grizzly Magnum. But Lee has managed to show a great versatility to his game. This was seen in some incredible fighting that earned him a NXT champion title at the Great American Bash Night in July.

So who’s looking most likely to stop Keith Lee from claiming the Royal Rumble title? There’s no denying that Roman Reigns is looking equally strong this time around. The 35-year has been by far the most interesting character on the wrestling scene for many years. While his bad attitude may capture the headlines, his prowess in the ring knows no limits. It’s been interesting to see how Reigns has rebranded himself from being ‘The Big Dog’ to ‘The Tribal Chief’. One thing’s for sure and that’s that Roman Reigns is going to put on a real show at the Royal Rumble 2021.

It’s hard to look beyond the formidable pairing of Keith Lee and Roman Reigns. But it’s also true that Daniel Bryan could be the ‘dark horse’ of the next Royal Rumble. The wrestling veteran might be advancing in years, but he’s still a major contender. The WWE Champion has an impressive list of stats, and key moves like the LeBell Lock have become part of wrestling folklore. Plus it’s important to remember that Bryan currently holds the record for the longest stint in a Royal Rumble match. So while the 39-year old was once the eternal underdog, it looks like his years of experience could help him put on a surprise performance that the upcoming Royal Rumble.

But we can’t have a preview of the next Royal Rumble without mentioning Adam Cole. The 31-year old will be hoping that this major event will give him chance to make a big comeback after a tricky year. This saw Cole suffering from broken ribs after a tricky encounter with Ridge Holland. All of which sets up the next Royal Rumble as a key fixture on Cole’s path towards Smackdown stardom. Some critics have said that Cole just doesn’t have the mental attitude necessary to make it to the top. But all signs are that Cole is ready to make a big impact for Royal Rumble 2021.

It’s also worth keeping an eye on AJ Styles. The star has been around the wrestling scene for more than two decades now and his in-ring ability is without question. While AJ Styles has been with us for many years, he is still perfectly capable of putting in some high-flying moves. Nowhere was this better seen than when he took on Sheamus on WWE RAW last week. This saw AJ Styles attacking Sheamus with a chair and then injuring his opponent’s leg. All of which sets up the 2021 Royal Rumble for being a fight that AJ Styles is going to give his all at.

You can’t talk about veteran wrestlers at the Royal Rumble without mentioning Edge. The 47-year old is set to make a big comeback at this bout following a nasty torn triceps injury. This came when Edge took on Randy Orton at the ‘Greatest Wrestling Match Ever’ bout last summer. The star even had neck surgery and once looked like he might be set to leave the wrestling scene for good. But current rumours suggest that Edge is ready for WrestleMania 37, which should set him up nicely for the 2021 Royal Rumble.

But the key thing to remember is that there are plenty more exceptional challengers for this  bout. Will 2021 be the year that Keith Owens takes things to the next level? Or will there be a change of fortune for Seth Rollins? Plus don’t forget about Aleister Black, Andrade and Brock Lesnar. All of which means that the next Royal Rumble is set to be one of the most unpredictable fights in many years.
