Copa Libertadores is the main competition in South America, being the equivalent of the UEFA Champions League. On it, the best teams of the continent face each other for the title of best South American club of the season and the chance of going to the FIFA Clubl’s World Cup.
Author Kate Richardson made some predictions of the matches that will have Brazilian teams on them. Let’s take a look,
One of the interesting matches for this 1st leg of the round of 16 is the one between Racing, from Argentina, and Flamengo, from Brazil. The game will take place in Argentina, on next Wednesday, and it is expected to be a lively duel, with the hosts trying to take advantage of playing at home to end with the favoritism of the Brazilians, who are the current champions of the competition.
The Argentines reached this stage after having finished in the second position of group F with 15 points added, the same as the Uruguayan club National that was in first. Flamengo won group A with 15 points out of 18 possible, although they suffered one of the biggest humiliations in the history of the club, with the 5-0 defeat at the Ecuadorian ground of Independiente del Valle!
In a match between two teams that have suffered many goals and whose games have been productive, we believe in an open duel, with a lot of work for the goalkeepers and a great chance to bet on over 2.5 goals.
Another great match and another duel between Brazilians and Argentines. Internacional, from Brazil, will welcome Boca Juniors, from Argentina, next Thursday at Porto Alegre. It is expected to be a great show for the fans and a lot of rivalry as it is common in duels between clubs from these two countries.
Internacional has been doing very well in the Brazilian League, where they have even been the leaders for some days and reached this stage of the competition after finishing in second place in group E, behind their main rival, Gremio. Boca Juniors dominated group H, finishing in first place with 14 points, 7 more than the runners-up, Libertad, from Paraguay.
In a match between two teams with a lot of talent in front of the attack and looking at recent games from one side and the other, we believe in a very open duel, with a lot of chances of goal. Another good duel to bet on the over 2.5 market.
A game that will count with one of the biggest clubs from Argentina facing an underdog. Atletico Paranaense, from Brazil, will welcome the great River Plate, from Argentina, in a match that will happen next Tuesday. It is expected to be an interesting match, but certainly with a favoritismo for the Argentines, even though the match will be played in Brazil.
Atlético Paranaense reached this stage of the competition after finishing in second place in group C with 10 points, behind Jorge Wilstermann, from Bolivia. River Plate dominated group D, finishing in first position with 13 points added and a fantastic offensive record of 21 goals scored in 6 rounds. Argentines have won the Copa Libertadores on 4 occasions, the last in 2015 and 2018.
Despite playing away from home, River Plate is in a good shape and with a very fine-tuned aim, giving reason to believe they will leave this trip with the 3 points! Betting in a victory of the Argentine club is a good option.
Finally, a match that doesn't count with a confrontation between Brazil and Argentina. For the 1st leg of the round of 16, LDU Quito, from Ecuador, will welcome Santos, from Brazil, next Tuesday.
LDU reached this stage after finishing in second place in group D with 12 points, behind River Plate with 13. Normally Ecuadorians take advantage of the home advantage in international competitions, due to the altitude at which they play. Santos finished Group G in the first position, with 16 points, which came with 5 wins and 1 draw.
In a match between two teams with a lot of offensive talent and knowing that the LDU will take a chance to try to achieve a good result, we believe in an open game, with chances of goal next to both goals. Another good opportunity to bet on the over 2.5 market.

With so many great duels and three confrontations between clubs from Brazil and Argentina, this round of 16 of Copa Libertadores will be pretty interesting. Some good chances of betting and making money.
