ACTION WRESTLING “Friday Night Fights”

11/13/2020 - Tyrone, GA

Available Now on IWTV.LIVE

The second half of Action Wrestling’s November double header is live on IWTV. The crowd is back, hot off the action of “Friday the 13th” and are getting five more matches to close their night off.  We get a video of Adam Priest on the Bald Monkeys podcast, talking about how his cardio and wrestling skills will hold up against Fred Yehi. He recognizes that he’s been on a bit of a good run lately so maybe Yehi wil have some work to do as well.

Match 1: “The Savageweight” Fred Yehi vs Adam Priest

Heck of way to kick this card off. Yehi is stuffing every takedown attempt Priest throws at him to start. Yehi outgrappling Priest and toying with his opponent. Yehi with a wrist hold and using it to throw Priest around. Priest escapes, fails a few shoulder blocks but slips in a crab that sends Yehi scrambling to the rope. Priest with a chop, Yehi eats it, hits an overhead throw and lays a beating down. Yehi drags him back up by the ear. Priest trying a cravat but Fred powers out several times. Priest finally gets Yehi off his feet with a drop off a cravat he finally locks in. Priest takes control over Yehi’s neck and shoulder but Yehi powers up with a suplex for a near fall. Back body drop, snap mare and a kick to the head for a two count. Priest counters with a snap german, tries for the crab again. Yehi transitions it to a Koji clutch but Priest gets out of there fast. Yehi with another big suplex, traps the arms and rolls into a high angle cradle pin.

Winner: Fred Yehi

Was Priest’s shoulder up? Priest seems to think so. Good match to kick this card off. Priest ate everything Yehi had to offer (and he got a LOT). If this was a test, Priest may not have won but he definitely showed that he can hang with one of the best.

Match 2: “The Little Blue Dragon” Seishin vs Billie Starkz

Seishin is stepping into replace Angelus Layne. Both are making their Action debut tonight. Starkz is getting outworked early, Seishin landing shots and staying a step ahead in the grapples. Starkz comes off the rope with a kick to the head and starts to take control. A Batista. Style stomach stomp. Suplex and a liver kick for two. Fisherman’s buster for two. Seishin hits some stiff shots but Starkz has her own answer for that. Trading forearms and a body kick staggers Seishin. Seishin to the top and a crossbody for two. Starks with a knee and a rolling elbow, german for two. Starkz comes running but eats a flying knee to the mouth. Billie with a spinning kick to the gut and hits a Swanton bomb for the win.

Winner: Billie Starkz

This took a minute to hit its stride but this was a good opportunity for Starkz to slow down and brawl her way to victory against a game Seishin. Starkz is very expressive in the ring and definitely growing as a performer. The next few years are hers to grow into the star every around clearly knows she will be.

Match 3: “The Heathen” Logan Creed vs Orion Bishop

Bishop is a Dr. Death-looking badass tank of a man. Creed is a huge man as well so this is clearly my hoss fight of the night. Huge powerslam from Creed shakes the building. Bishop suplexes Creed into the ring from the apron. Creed throws a bomb that staggers Bishop. Creed wants a tope but Bishop cuts it off and hits a hangman’s ddt to the concrete. Owwwww. Bishop with a buckle bomb and a pounce for two. Creed with a lariat to the back of the head, slam and senton for two. Creed to the top but Bishop superplexes him down. Trading shots and chops, Bishop with a lariat that turns Creed inside out. Creed with a big boot off the apron and a dive hits the mark. Creed trying to lock in the win but Bishop with a Samoan drop and german suplex. Creed pops up and hits a facebuster for the pin.

Winner: Logan Creed

Hot damn. Both guys throwing heavy offense throughout here (as I hoped). Super entertaining watch. Promo of Matt Sells being confused that he has to fight tonight and not drink a flight of beer. Jaden Newman has a punchable face so he says he’s going to have fun.

Match 4: Matt Sells vs “Number One” Jaden Newman

The crowd has a few “#2” signs just to rile up Newman. They are here to see him get punched. Newman demands the ref give Sells a field sobriety test. Sells walks the line successfully and Newman ambushes him from behind. Sells maneuvers into a rocking stretch. Battle to the apron, Newman with an STO to the apron. Newman breaks the count on the outside several times to force the ref to say “1” over and over. Sells is rocked and getting stomped and choked by Newman. Sells with a couple of pin attempts but eats a Newman knee for a two count. Newman with a octopus stretch, falling back to the ropes and forcing his own rope break. Sells recovers and hits some lariats. Neckbreaker into a tease for a palm strike....but Newman sees it coming. Slam to Newman but he reverses the follow up into a spinning neckbreaker. Newman goes for a flying headbutt but Sells with a cutter out of the sky. Sells wraps his knees around Newman’s head and dry humps the mat repeatedly, slamming Newman’s face to the canvas repeatedly until he goes limp.??

Winner: Matt Sells (by Ref Stoppage)

What an amazing and bizarre way to finish a match! Seriously this was good stuff. Newman did his best to annoy the crowd and Sells found a bizarrely brutal way to close things out.

Main Event: Anthony Henry vs “The ACEGAWD’ Arik Royal

Royal is gunning for a shot at AC Mack’s Action Championship. Henry had an absolutely killer match with Kyle Matthews a few hours prior to this. Royal with a corner splash right at the bell, throw and pin attempt for two. Royal knows Henry isn’t 100% and he’s trying to exploit this early. Trading big chops, Royal trying to work over the arm of Anthony Henry. Meanwhile, Suge D has come out from the back and is watching this main event intently from ringside. Back in the ring, Henry is trying to make a comeback but he’s only able to do so much with his arm so beat. Royal with a spinning leg lariat and goes back to the arm. Henry muscles up the large Royal for a saito suplex. Royal comes running but eats a kick and a drop kick from the top. Henry starting to work the arm of Royal. He wants to a cross arm breaker by Royal slams him for a two count, Henry holds on. Royal picks him up again and hits a sit out powerbomb for two and Henry releases the hold. Henry throwing leather but Royal decks him and hits a huge lariat. Henry pulls up and he catches Royal with a brain buster. Royal trying to comeback but Henry catches him running into a deep arm lock. Suge D grabs a mic and says “enough already, could someone just win, please?” Suge keeps talkings as Henry is completely distracted, allowing Royal to hit a running Superman face slam and Henry is down for the count.??

Winner: Arik Royal

Suge acknowledges Royal as the winner but he says he has some business to conduct here so he kind of dismisses him and heads to the apron. Suge addresses Anthony Henry. He says that when Henry didn’t get a contract, he basically left wrestling to do MMA, eat snacks and become a personal trainer. When Suge didn’t get a contract, or lost his NWA spot, or got injured? He went back to the indies and kept on that grind. He’s upset at the “red carpet treatment” Anthony Henry receives because he decided now was time to come back to the indies. Why did Cabana Man Dan get choked out at “Friday the 13th”? Because Dan is okay with Henry having that spot. To Suge, Henry is a faker, waiting for that big payday. Henry gets a mic to say that all Suge does is whine and complain that he’s not getting his fair shot. Suge says he’s sick of waiting for that shot so at Action’s next show (on Dec 11th), he’ll be taking it from Anthony Henry. Henry says that Suge is NOT better than him but if he wants the match, he will give Suge the nightmare he is asking for. Well, this sounds great! Match was going great before Suge injected himself into the proceeding. Arik Royal has certainly earned than shot against AC Mack. ??

And that’s it for “Friday Night Fights”! I always think of these FNF shows as the 3rd act to Action’s monthly doubleheaders. It’s a separate show but definitely draws from what happened a couple hours prior. Yehi/Priest & Creed/Bishop were my matches of the show but the storytelling through the main event event has me pretty hyped for December. Until then!
