Pro Wrestling ZERO1

Pro Wrestling ZERO1 held a press conference today to confirm Yuji Hino will leave the company at the end of November and Hino has vacated the Intercontinental Tag Team Championships alongside Quiet Storm.

Hino will wrestle his last match under contract at ZERO1’s show in Shin-Kiba 1st Ring on November 23. He will team with Hide Kubota against KANON and Ren Ayabe.

The winners of the Furinkazan tag team tournament, scheduled to take place next month, will become the new holders of the Intercontinental Tag Team Championships.

El Lindaman and T-Hawk is the only confirmed team so far, although Satsuki Nagao, Shinjiro Otani, SUGI, Takuya Sugawara, Towa Iwasaki, Yasu Kubota and Yoshikazu Yokoyama have all been individually announced.

Hino is the not the first major wrestler to leave ZERO1 this year. Ikuto Hidaka, Kohei Sato and Tatsuhito Takaiwa all left the company over the summer after a bombshell Tokyo Sports article revealed revealed wrestlers and staff have taken an 80 per cent paycut as the company faced major financial struggles throughout the ongoing COVID-19 global pandemic.

At the time of the article’s publishing on July 1, Masato Tanaka and Shinjiro Otani were the only other two wrestlers under contract to ZERO1.
