All Elite Wrestling announced the following:
AEW and Joey Janela learned today that he had exposure to a known COVID-19 positive person at an independent show. For that reason we are pulling him until such time as he is cleared to return consistent with our protocols. pic.twitter.com/V8TJiAhuNF

Janela wrestled AJ Gray, who announced todat that he had tested positive for COVID-19 over the weekend in California for GCW. Gray announced earlier today that he tested positive:
Well, I got some bad news....

Last COVID test just came back.... and I tested positive....
I don’t really have any symptoms at all, but I’m still stuck on a 14 day quarantine, so yeah... this blows.
Gray later stated that he knows the person he caught COVID-19 from and that he tested positive after he worked for GCW. His COVID-19 tests when he wrestled Janela had been negative. PWInsider.com wishes Gray well.
Janela was scheduled to face Kenny Omega on tonight's episode of Dynamite as part of the first round of the AEW World Title Eliminator but was pulled out of caution by the company. Sonny Kiss will replace Janela.
