NJPW STRONG REPORT: LION'S BREAK CROWN TOURNAMENT MATCHES

We are in Los Angeles, California and your announcers are Shigeki Kiyono, Hiroshi Tanahashi, and Katsuyori Shibata (in Japanese) or Kevin Kelly and Alex Koslov (in English).

Kevin mentions the Lion’s Break Crown and he asks TJP about Clark Connors and if he is a favorite. TJP says he would like to say that Clark is a favorite since he knows this style of wrestling. There are seven other guys who want this thing. Experience plays a factor but when you get in the ring, anyone can win.

Match Number One: Logan Riegel versus The DKC in a First Round Match in the Lion’s Break Crown Tournament

They lock up and DKC with a wrist lock but Riegel escapes. They lock up and DKC with a waist lock take down into an arm bar. They lock up and Riegel with a side head lock take down. DKC with a head scissors and Riegel escapes but DKC with an arm bar. Riegel escapes and they lock up again. DKC with a side head lock take down into a wrist lock.

Riegel with knees to the back but DKC holds on to the double wrist lock. DKC with a belly-to-back suplex for a near fall. DKC with a rear chin lock and arm bar. Riegel with a forearm but DKC with an arm drag into an arm bar. Riegel with a punch to escape the hold. DKC with a kick to the arm. Riegel blocks a kick and hits a series of clotheslines. Riegel with a running European uppercut and a jumping neck breaker for a near fall.

DKC with a kick to the ribs. DKC with a side Russian leg sweep into a cobra stretch. Riegel struggles but he makes it to the ropes to force a break. DKC with kicks. DKC with a back drop but Riegel counters into a rollup for the three count.

Winner: Logan Riegel (advances to face winner of Clark Connors versus Jordan Clearwater)

After the match, Riegel says on to the next. Clark Connors, I don’t give a s*** if you are part of the LA Dojo, I am coming for the Lion’s Break Crown.

Match Number Two: Clark Connors versus Jordan Clearwater in a First Round Match in the Lion’s Break Crown Tournament

Connors with a single leg take down into a waist lock. Clearwater with a wrist lock. Connors with an arm drag take down into a double wrist lock. Connors gets a near fall. Connors with a front face lock but Clearwater with an arm bar. Connors with a side head lock and take down for a near fall. Connors holds on when Clearwater tries to send him off the ropes.

Connors with a shoulder tackle but Clearwater with a hip toss and leg drop for a near fall. Clearwater with a forearm to the back. Clearwater with a chop and Connors chops back and then chops and kicks Clearwater in the corner. Connors with a snap mare and double chop to the back. Connors gets a near fall. Connors with an arm bar. Clearwater with punches. Connors with a POUNCE on Clearwater.

Connors with shoulders in the corner. Connors with a chop and Irish whip but Clearwater floats over and hits a back body drop. Clearwater with a running neck breaker for a near fall. Clearwater with forearms but Connors with a punch. Clearwater with a spinebuster for a near fall. Clearwater gets Connors up for a slam but Connors escapes and hits a power slam for a near fall. Clearwater with an inside cradle for a near fall. Connors with a spear and Boston Crab that forces Clearwater to tap out.

Winner: Clark Connors (advances to face Logan Riegel)

After the match, Connors says he is coming to taking everyone out. Welcome to the Lion’s Den. The Lion is going to break you in half. This is a new Clark Connors. A Clark Connors with confidence.

Match Number Three: Danny Limelight versus Barrett Brown in a First Round Match in the Lion’s Break Crown Tournament

They lock up and Brown with a wrist lock into a hammer lock. Limelight with a head lock take down. Brown with a head scissors and Limelight escapes. Brown with a wrist lock into a hammer lock. Limelight with a wrist lock and Brown with an arm drag. Limelight with an arm drag into an arm bar. Brown backs Limelight into the corner but Limelight with kicks. Brown blocks a kick and he chops Limelight.

Brown with an Irish whip and he runs into boot and Limelight goes for a hesitation DDT but Brown pushes him away. Limelight with a kick to the chest. Limelight with a springboard DDT and twisting plancha onto Brown on the floor. Brown is sent back into the ring. Limelight with a shoulder and he flips back into the ring but Brown with a running boot to the head.

Brown with a kick to the ribs. Brown with a forearm and back elbow to Limelight for a near fall. Brown with a kick to the back and then to the head. Brown gets a near fall. Brown goes for a slam but Limelight escapes and hits a drop kick. Brown with a kick in the corner and he suplexes Limelight into the turnbuckles. Brown gets a near fall. Brown with a chop that sends Limelight into the turnbuckles. Brown with an Irish whip and he misses a splash in the corner. Limelight with a kick and Limelight walks the ropes to avoid Brown and hits a springboard clothesline. Limelight with a clothesline and a half and half suplex.

Limelight with a kick for a near fall. Brown blocks a suplex. Limelight escapes a suplex and applies a dragon sleeper followed by a fisherman’s suplex for a near fall. Limelight goes up top and misses. Brown with a wheelbarrow into a gourdbuster for a near fall. Limelight goes to the apron and Brown grabs him. Brown tries to suplex Limelight back into the ring but Limelight with a block. Limelight with a kick and a springboard tornado DDT for the three count.

Winner: Danny Limelight (advances to face winner of Blake Christian versus Adrian Quest)

Danny Limelight says Brown hits hard. He came from New York to bring the crown home. He is in the lion’s den but he is coming out the winner. Whoever he faces next better be ready.

Match Number Four: Adrian Quest versus Blake Christian in a First Round Match in the Lion’s Break Crown Tournament

They lock up and Christian with a rollup for a near fall. Quest with a crucifix for a near fall. Christian with a victory roll for a near fall. Quest with a head scissors but Christian with a clothesline and kick to the back. Christian with a drop kick to the back of the head for a near fall. Christian misses a splash into the corner and Quest with shoulders.

Christian with an Irish whip but Quest floats over and gets a near fall. Quest kicks Christian in the ribs. Quest with more kicks to the ribs to work on the injury. Quest with a suplex for a near fall. Quest with a kick to the ribs. Quest with forearms to the lower back and ribs. Christian with a chop and Quest chops back. Quest with a knee to the midsection for a near fall.

Christian with a punch and uppercut followed by a leg sweep that sends Quest into the ropes. Christian with a Tiger Feint Kick and Christian comes off the turnbuckles but Quest with a drop kick to counter for a near fall. Quest with a slam and he gets a near fall. Quest with a bow and arrow for a near fall. Quest with a belly-to-back suplex for a near fall. Quest kicks Christian and connects with a forearm. Quest with a tilt-a-whirl back breaker for a near fall. Quest with a forearm and an Irish whip but Christian with a clothesline out of the corner and both men are down.

Christian with forearms but Quest punches Christian in the ribs. Christian with a power slam and quebrada. Christian gets a near fall. Quest with a kick to the ribs and a Code Red for a near fall. Quest goes to the turnbuckles for a Phoenix Splash but Christian moves. Christian with a German suplex and he goes up top. Christian with a twisting splash for the three count.

Winner: Blake Christian (advances to face Danny Limelight)

Blake Christian says his ribs are banged up but he made it through. Adrian found out even with injured ribs, his heart keeps going.
