WWE NXT UK REPORT: NIVEN VERSUS RAY, THE DRAW IS SET, AND MORE

We begin with the graphic In Memory of Joe Laurinaitis.

We take a look back at last week’s return of NXT UK with brand new programming.

We are at BT Studios in London, England and your announcers are Andy Shepherd and Nigel McGuinness.

We see Sid Scala in the back with the seven participants announced for the Heritage Cup and he wants everyone to behave. Dar has a call and he walks away.

Match Number One: WALTER versus Saxon Huxley in a Non Title Match

Huxley goes for a kick but misses. WALTER with a sleeper and Huxley escapes. Huxley with chops but WALTER with a chop and hip lock take down. WALTER clotheslines Huxley over the top rope to the floor. WALTER knocks Huxley off the apron when Huxley tries to get back into the ring. Huxley attacks the ring steps for his inability to return to the ring and then he picks up the steps and the referee tells him to put them down.

WALTER punches Huxley on the apron and WATER with a forearm across the chest. Huxley with a forearm and boot to the head. Huxley with another boot to the head. Huxley with a slam and he goes up top. Huxley with a clothesline off the turnbuckles and he gets a near fall. Huxley with an elbow drop and one to the back. WALTER rolls to the floor.

Huxley follows to the floor and hits a Thesz Press. Huxley punches WALTER. Huxley breaks the referee’s count but stays on the floor. Huxley misses a boot and gets caught in the guardrails. WALTER with a chop and he goes for a sleeper. Huxley works on the arm and sends WALTER into the ring steps. Huxley breaks the count and stays on the floor but WALTER with a slam and kick to the back. WALTER with another chop and a backdrop driver onto the ringside barrier. WALTER with a power bomb onto the edge of the apron.

The referee checks on Huxley. Huxley gets back into the ring before the ten count. WALTER with chops. Huxley with slaps and a forearm. WALTER with a sleeper and a German suplex. WALTER with a boot to the back. WALTER with a chop and he puts Huxley on the turnbuckles and sets for a butterfly superplex and hits it.

WALTER wants Huxley to get up but that is not a priority for Huxley at this point. WALTER with a chop to the back and a power bomb for the three count.

Winner: WALTER

After the match, WALTER has a message for Ilja Dragunov.

Kay Lee Ray walks in the back as she prepares for her title defense against Piper Niven.

We go to commercial.

We are back and we go to footage of Saxon Huxley walking down the stairs and Jack Starz wishes him better luck next time and Huxley is not in a good mood.

We run through the rules for the Heritage Cup.

Sid Scala is in the ring with the seven announced participants in the NXT UK Heritage Cup. Sid mentions that we will draw the numbers for the brackets for the tournament.

Sid brings out Pete Dunne to assist him.

Pete says the Heritage Cup is for those who paved the way like William Regal, Johnny Saint, and Mark Rocco. Pete says he has made it his mission to show what British Wrestling is all about. It is time for you to do the same.

Joseph Connors’ number is drawn and he will face Dave Mastiff in the first round.

The Wild Card will face Trent Seven in another first round match.

Flash Morgan Webster will face A-Kid in another first round match.

The final first round match will see Alexander Wolfe face Noam Dar.

Dar tries to swing at Wolfe with his bag and Dunne stops him and pulls at his fingers. Dunne sends Dar to the floor.

Sid says the tournament will start next week.

Piper Niven is in the back with Xia Brookside and Dani Luna as Piper gets ready for her chance at the NXT Women’s Championship.

We go to commercial.

Match Number Two: Wild Boar and Primate versus Sam Stoker and Lewis Howley

Stoker and Boar start things off and Boar with a nerve hold into a rear chin lock and side head lock. Boar works on the arm and shoulder. Stoker with a wrist lock but Boar with a hip toss for a near fall. Primate tags in and he comes off the turnbuckles with a double sledge. Primate works on the arm. Stoker with a rake of the eyes and Howley tags in and Primate with a take down and punches. Howley with a knee and he sends Primate into the turnbuckles.

Primate with an Iris whip and hip toss. Howley kicks Primate away and Howley with a side head lock take down but Primate with a head scissors. Howley escapes but Primate with a back elbow. Primate with a slam and he tags in Boar. Primate gets Boar up for a back senton and Boar gets a near fall. Howley with a knee and he trips over Boar. Stoker prevents a German suplex and Boar kicks Stoker. Stoker pulls Boar into the ropes and Howley with a clothesline.

Stoker tags in and he connects with a forearm and hits a backdrop driver for a near fall. Stoker punches Boar and kicks him. Stoker with an arm bar and chin lock. Stoker with a knee and he backs Boar into the turnbuckles. Howley tags in and kicks Boar. Howley with a European uppercut. Howley runs Boar into the corner and Stoker tags back in. Stoker with a running back elbow into the corner.

Boar blocks a kick and hits a sit out power bomb for a near fall. Stoker pulls Boar into his corner and Howley tags in and hits a series of elbow drops for a near fall. Howley with a quarter nelson and chin bar. Howley turns it into an arm bar. Howley with head butts and Howley with a cross body off the turnbuckles for a near fall. Stoker tags in and Stoker with a European uppercut. Boar with a punch and he fights his way out of the corner but Stoker catches Boar and slams him when Boar tries to get to his corner. Howley tags in and he is met with boots when he comes off the turnbuckles. Stoker tags in and Boar goes through the legs and kicks Stoker away to tag in Primate.

Primate with forearms and elbows followed by an exploder on Stoker and a clothesline to Howley followed by Stoker. Primate with a seated splash off the turnbuckles to Stoker followed by a suicide dive onto Howley. Primate goes off the turnbuckles and Boar tags in. They go up top and Primate stops Howley from interfering as Boar hits a diving head butt and he gets a near fall. Primate charges at Howley but Howley side steps him and is sent into the guardrails. Howley distracts the referee as Boar gets a rollup. Boar knocks Howley off the apron and Stoker with a rollup for the three count.

Winners: Sam Stoker and Lewis Howley

After the match, Eddie Dennis shows up on the stage and he has something to say to Lewis Howley and Sam Stoker.

We go to commercial.

We are back and we see footage of The Hunt after their loss and they bump into Mark Andrews and Flash Morgan Webster. Mark says he knows they are down on their luck and things are going to change soon.

Sid Scala and Pete Dunne are talking and he thinks Dar and Wolfe should meet next week. Sid wants to know how to keep this under control and Sid decides to make Pete the guest referee.

We will also see a Triple Threat Match to determine the eighth participant in the Heritage Cup.

Match Number Three: Kay Lee Ray versus Piper Niven for the NXT UK Women’s Championship

They lock up and go to a stalemate. They lock up and Niven pushes Ray into the turnbuckles and the champion goes to the floor to regroup. Ray returns to the ring but she wants Niven to stay back. Ray with a kick to the midsection and she works on the arm and shoulder. Ray with an arm bar into a double wrist lock. Niven tries to slam Ray but Ray adds pressure to the wrist lock to get Niven to stop the attempt. Niven is sent into the turnbuckles and Ray returns to the arm.

Ray returns to the double wrist lock. Niven sends Ray into the turnbuckles when Ray tries to send Niven into the turnbuckles shoulders first. Ray blocks a kick and Niven with a shoulder tackle. Niven with a biel across the ring. Niven with another biel. Ray backs into the corner. Niven gets Ray up for a slam but Ray gets to her feet. Niven with a head butt and Ray goes down. Niven with a chin lock and Ray tries to get out of the hold but Niven holds on. Niven adds a body scissors as Ray tries to get to the ropes.

Ray with a kick to the hamstring and an elbow drop to the leg. Ray with punches to the leg. Ray traps the legs and then she adds a rear chin lock. Ray drops back to add pressure to the legs. Ray with a boot to the knee. Niven with punches and she biels Ray over the top rope to the floor. Niven goes to the floor and tries to Irish whip Ray into the steps but Ray stops and hits a super kick. Ray with a tornado DDT off the apron. Ray returns to the ring and Ray breaks up the count.

Ray slams Niven’s head into the ring steps. Ray misses a running knee against the ring steps and Ray holds her right knee. Ray has trouble getting back to her feet but she won’t let the referee stop the match and he also holds Niven back. Ray falls back to the ground as the referee calls for help from the back. Ray says she is fine. Niven shows her frustration by punching the ringside barrier.

Ray is helped up by referees while Niven is still frustrated by what has happened. Niven walks behind Ray and Niven says she can wait for another match. Ray limps to Niven and slaps her. Ray says Niven is never taking her title. Niven grabs Ray and brings her into the ring. Niven with punches to Ray. Niven with a single leg crab but Ray gets to the ropes to force a break. Ray with a super kick and Niven goes down.

Ray goes up top and hits a swanton onto the knee for a near fall. Ray tries to get some feeling back in her injured leg as she struggles to get back to her feet. Niven with a leg sweep and a back senton for a near fall. Ray with a thrust kick to the knee and Niven with boots to the injured knee. Niven pulls Ray out of the corner but the turnbuckle pad comes off. Niven with a knee bar.

Ray kicks Niven to get out of the hold. Niven goes for a slam but Ray escapes. Ray tries for the Gory Bomb but Niven escapes. Niven hits the Piper Driver but Ray gets her foot on the rope to break the count. Niven goes to the turnbuckles for a Vader Bomb but Ray gets her knees up and the damage might have been greater for the champion.

Ray leans against the exposed turnbuckle and Niven goes for a cannonball but Ray moves and Niven hits the exposed turnbuckle. Ray gets the three count.

Winner: Kay Lee Ray (retains Championship)

After the match, we see Jinny behind the ringside barrier watching the celebration.
