LATEST ON SONYA DEVILLE STALKING ARREST

By Mike Johnson on 2020-08-18 10:55:00

Phillp A. Thomas II, who was arrested early Sunday morning after stalking WWE star Sonya Deville and breaking into her home, where he was apprehended has been assigned a public defender and involved his fifth amendment right to remain silent yesterday 8/17.

Thomas has been charged with Aggravated Stalking, Armed Burglary of a Dwelling, Attempted Armed Kidnapping, and Criminal Mischief.

PWInsider.com can also confirm that Deville was awarded a temporary injunction against Thomas for stalking her and there is a court date later this month to have that officially put into place permanently.

Thomas will be present this Thursday at a pre-trial detention hearing to determine whether he should be held without bail or if he should be allowed to post bond and be allowed out of incarceration while waiting for his case to go to trial.  He remains currently jailed at Hillsborough County Jail in Florida.

Tampa authorities stated that Thomas had allegedly been planning to kidnap Deville for months.  Around midnight Sunday morning, Thomas parked his car and found the Deville's home, cut a hole in the patio screen and remained there for hours, watching and listening through the home's windows.  He entered the home around 2:43 AM after Deville went to bed, triggering an alarm by entering through a glass sliding door.  Deville saw Thomas and fled the home with another person who was a guest on the property, calling 911.

When authorities arrived, Thomas was still in the home and was found "carrying a knife, plastic zip ties, duct tape, mace and other items and told deputies he was planning to take the homeowner hostage."  Thomas' social media featured many references to her as well as responses to Deville and others who wrote about her.

Last night, Deville commented, writing on Twitter, "Thank you everyone for your love and concern.  A very frightening experience but thankfully everyone is safe.  A special thank you to Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office for their response and assistance."

Thanks to Richard Trionfo for his assistance.
