WWE NXT just revealed that Triple H is offering Pat McAfee a match against Adam Cole at NXT Takeover XXX on 8/22:

Triple H just told @GetUpESPN that he's challenging Pat McAfee to a match against @AdamColePro at #NXTTakeOver: XXX!!!
McAfee had Cole on his radio show several weeks ago, leading to a expletive-filled argument and physical confrontation. The two sides apologized but then McAfee, invited to NXT by Triple H, got into it again with Cole on last night's broadcast:
Following the HHH challenge, Adam Cole took to Twitter to build the match, writing:
Let me make this crystal clear for everyone, especially you @PatMcAfeeShow...Hunter is the one who can make this match happen, but I will be the one kicking your ass at #TakeOverXXX...if you’re as bad as you think you are, accept. I dare you.

So, we'll be seeing McAfee, 33, a former Indianapolis Colts player and NFL All-Pro, stepping into a WWE ring for the first time. McAfee has wrestled once before, competing on a IWA East Coast event in South Charleston, West Virginia in March 2009, defeating Warpig. McAfee has worked for WWE since 2018 as a broadcast personality and has trained in the past with Rip Rogers, so he's not coming into this bout with zero experience or understanding of professional wrestling.
The match will give NXT, on paper, something of a celebrity hook for Takeover, which would be the first time that brand has attempted something of this nature.
