JUICE ROBINSON INJURED, DETAILS REVEALED FOR NJPW STRONG AND MORE

New Japan Pro Wrestling announced that their new series 'NJPW Strong' will begin with an 8-man 'New Japan Cup USA 2020' tournament, with the winner receiving a IWGP US Heavyweight Championship opportunity.   The series will stream on New Japan World, having been taped in the United States in California under the production team of Championship Wrestling from Hollywood.

The lineups are: 

8/7- First Round 

Karl Fredericks vs. KENTA

Jeff Cobb vs. Tanga Loa 

David Finlay vs. Chase Owens

Brody King vs. Tama Tonga

8/14 - Semi Finals 

8/21 - Finals

New Japan also announced the following:

"Juice Robinson has suffered an injury to his right leg and is currently unable to compete.   As a result of his injury, Robinson will not be competing on forthcoming NJPW STRONG broadcasts, which start August 7 when LEC presents New Japan Cup USA.   We apologize to fans who are looking forward to seeing Robinson wrestle. We appreciate your understanding, and wish Juice the best in his recovery."

NJPW also announced an 8-team tournament to crown the new NEVER Openweight 6-Man Champions, with the tournament taking place at Korakuen Hall from 8/6 to 8/9 featuring:

8/6 - First Round 

SHO, Toru Yano and Kazuchika Okada vs. Jado, Gedo and Yujiro Takahashi

BUSHI, SANADA and Shingo Takagi vs. DOUKI, El Desperado and Minoru Suzuki 

8/7 - First Round  

Hiroshi Tanahashi, Kota Ibushi, and Master Wato vs. Taichi, Zack Sabre Jr. and Yoshinobu Kanemaru 

Tomoaki Honma, Togi Makabe, and Ryusuke Taguchi vs. Hirooki Goto, Tomohiro Ishii and YOSHI-HASHI

8/8 - Semi Finals

8/9 -  Finals
