DEBUTS, RETURNS, BOUND FOR GLORY, FUNK TRIBUTE AT PPV & MORE: IMPACT WRESTLING NEWS AND NOTES COMING OUT OF SLAMMIVERSARY

By Mike Johnson on 2020-07-19 11:35:00

The early indications are that Slammiversary was the strongest Impact PPV in terms of online buys in a long time.

Bound for Glory will be Sunday 10/24.

Officially debuting for Impact Wrestling last night was Heath Miller aka the former Heath Slater.  He's again aligned with his old WWE tag team partner Rhino.

Returning last night were The Motor City Machine Guns, Eric Young and EC3.  EC3 returning to Impact TV was the big cliffhanger at the end of Slammiversary.  Last night was the first time Sabin had wrestled since January 2019, when he had his third ACL tear while wrestling for Ring of Honor.  It was the first time the Guns had teamed since May 2018.

Rich Swann, Madison Rayne and Katie Forbes all returned to action last night.  Swann had been out last year since having surgery on his leg.

The Good Brothers, Gallows and Anderson, are babyfaces thus far in Impact.

Impact Wrestling is taping new episodes of Impact on AXS today and tomorrow in Nashville.

Slammiversary was one of the top trending topics on Twitter in the United States overnight.  Hip Hop star Wale commented on the surge of interest in Impact over the weekend online:

Impact in 60 this Tuesday on AXS will focus on Ladder Matches.  The following week will be classic Slammiversary PPV bouts.

Tommy Dreamer commented on his tribute to Terry Funk at last night's PPV:

Thanks to the imcomprable Paul Jordan.
