While an official announcement has not yet been made, World Wrestling Entertainment will hold the 2020 Summerslam PPV from the Performance Center on Sunday 8/23.

WWE was slated to hold four events - Friday Night Smackdown, NXT Takeover: Boston, Summerslam 2020 and Monday Night Raw from Friday 8/21 through Monday 8/24 at Boston's TDGarden Arena originally, but the COVID-19 pandemic will prevent those plans.

Boston Mayor Marty Walsh announced in May that the city would not allow any large gatherings in the city through the end of the summer.

Summerslam is considered WWE's second biggest event of the year.  This would mark the first time it is not held inside an arena or stadium.
