WWE LEGENDS NOT PUTTING OVER YOUNGER STARS IN THEIR RETIREMENT MATCHES, DAMIEN SANDOW, NEW JACK AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2020-07-03 10:00:00

Looking back, isn't it kind of lame that Shawn Michaels and Ric Flair didn't lose retirement matches to talents they could "make" by losing to them in their final matches?

It's possible Michaels and Flair losing to others would have elevated someone, but in the case of Flair, he couldn't have had a better sendoff with anyone else. It was the rare case of perfection. Michaels losing to Taker made sense for the storyline and in the end, Michaels was the one who really called the shots there. If it was up to WWE, he'd have been back in the ring within six weeks. You can't criticize Michaels for deciding he was done because he would never touch upon the perfection of the Wrestlemania 25 bout ever again, even if you don't think he should have ever returned to the ring.

I just finished watching Forever Hardcore (for like the 100th time) and I was wondering if you have had any personal interactions with New Jack? Is he really as crazy as he comes off in shoot interviews? Or is it more crazy like a fox? He was talking about trying to basically kill Vic Grimes in their scaffold match. Is that just talk, because I get that some guys give receipts, or is he dangerous?

This is one we seem to get every few weeks and this is the last time I'm going to respond to it.  I've interacted New Jack a ton of times over the years and what you see is what you get. If you show him respect, he shows you respect. If he feels you disrespected him, he's going to make that clear and it's not going to be pretty.

Whatever happend to Damien Sandow?

He's been most recently wrestling for the NWA as Aaron Rex.

I watched the WWE OMG Vol 2. DVD. The WCW "Human Torch" match with Vampiro vs. Sting. That was a stunt man catching fire and falling down right?

Yes, indeed it was.

Do you see Molly Holly going into the WWE Hall of Fame one day?

Absolutely. She was a fine worker and did everything the company ever asked of her. How she isn't a Hall of Famer for them would be beyond me. She was a great talent and is a great representative for them.

Do you ever see WWE reembracing The Fabulous Moolah?

I wouldn't expect that anytime soon, not after fans directly went after a sponsor to voice their displeasure.
