NXT UK REPORT: LAST WOMAN STANDING, BEAST IN THE EAST, AND WRESTLEMANIA 2 MATCHES

Your host is Andy Shepherd.

This week, we will have Superstars pick their favorite matches.

We go to Jinny.

She says Last Woman Standing. Two of the most ruthless women in WWE History fight for the NXT Women’s Championship. Both women put everything on the line to come out victorious. While their outfits were questionable, the lengths they went to in order to come out as the champion shows what they would do to win.

 

Match Number One: Asuka versus Nikki Cross for the NXT Women’s Championship in a Last Woman Standing Match (from June 28, 2017 episode of NXT)

The bell rings and Nikki gets up from her seated position.  They lock up and push each other away.  They lock up and push each other away again.  Asuka misses a round kick and they lock up again.  Nikki runs Asuka into the corner and connects with shoulders.  Asuka with forearms and kicks against the ropes.  Asuka with a back heel kick.  Nikki with a cross body and she punches Asuka.  Asuka with a running kick to the temple and she goes for a baseball slide and Nikki pulls out the ring skirt and she connects with punches and forearms and the referee cannot do anything about it.

Nikki looks under the ring and she pulls out some chairs.  

We go to commercial.

We are back and Nikki tries to suplex Asuka onto the chairs but Asuka blocks it.  Asuka tries to suplex Nikki onto the chairs and Nikki blocks it.  Nikki sends Asuka into the ring steps.  The referee starts his count but Nikki picks up Asuka and Asuka Irish whips Nikki into the ring steps and the referee starts his count.  Asuka slams Nikki's head into the ring steps and connects with a forearm to the back.  Asuka sends Nikki back into the ring and Asuka gets a trash can from under the ring.

Asuka throws the trash can into the ring and she throws it away from Nikki.  Asuka hits Nikki with the trash can and then she puts it over Nikki and Asuka kicks the trash can from each side.  Asuka goes to the turnbuckles and hits a missile drop kick.  The referee starts his count on Nikki.  Nikki is back up and Asuka with knees and a kick to the back of the head.  Asuka gets chairs and throws them into the ring.  Nikki and Asuka play tug of war with a chair and Nikki sends Asuka into the guardrails.

Nikki comes off the apron and is met with a knee to the head.  Asuka sends more chairs into the ring and then she kicks Nikki in the leg.  Asuka throws every chair not being used at Full Sail into the ring.  They fight to the apron and Nikki with a shoulder to the midsection.  Asuka with forearms but Nikki with a reverse DDT onto the apron.  Nikki adjusts the chairs in the ring while Asuka gets back to her feet.

Nikki with forearms to the head and back of the head.  Nikki goes to the turnbuckles but Asuka gets to her feet to stop Nikki.  Nikki pushes Asuka off but Asuka with a spinning heel kick and then Asuka press slams Nikki onto the chairs.  Nikki with a belly-to-back suplex onto the chairs.  Both women are down.  Both women get back to their feet.

We go to commercial.

We are back and Asuka kicks Nikki in the chest but Nikki wants more as she laughs and smiles at Asuka.  Asuka has a spinning back fist blocked and Nikki with a neck breaker.  Asuka gets up and she misses a round kick.  Nikki with a head butt to the midsection followed by forearms and then she hits a swinging fisherman's neck breaker and the referee starts his count.  Nikki with a second swinging fisherman's neck breaker and she holds on for another one.  Nikki hits a fourth one and the referee starts his count.

Nikki takes the title belt and she charges at Asuka but Asuka with a round kick and Nikki is down so the referee starts his count.  Nikki is back up and Asuka with a spinning back heel kick and Nikki goes down again as the referee starts his count.  Nikki gets back to her feet and Asuka charges at her and Asuka goes to the apron when Nikki moves.  Asuka tries to suplex Nikki to the floor onto a pile of chairs but Cross holds on and blocks it.  Nikki drops Asuka on the top rope and then Nikki sets for a power bomb onto the chairs and she hits it.

Nikki lays on the apron while the referee makes his count and then Nikki waits on the floor but Asuka gets back to her feet at nine and Nikki is in shock.  Nikki and Asuka fight up the ramp and Asuka tries for a German suplex off the ramp.  Asuka knocks Nikki off the ramp with a forearm and then Asuka with a hip attack off the ramp onto Nikki as the referee starts his count on Nikki.  Nikki is able to get to her feet.

Asuka misses a round kick and a light shatters.  Asuka holds her ankle and the referee starts his count.  Nikki picks up Asuka and he hits a hanging swinging neck breaker and the referee starts his count.  Nikki is up and Asuka gets up at nine but she struggles to stay on her feet.  Asuka with a spinning back fist.  Nikki hits Asuka with a ladder in the midsection.  Nikki sees a table and slams Asuka's head onto it.  Nikki moves the table into a better position and Nikki slams Asuka's head onto the table.

Nikki sets up the ladder and puts Asuka on the table.  Nikki with forearms to keep Asuka on the table.  Nikki climbs the ladder but Asuka grabs the leg and Asuka climbs the ladder as well.  Asuka with a forearm and then she hits a superplex off the ladder through the announce table.

The referee starts his count.  Asuka starts to stir at eight and she gets to her feet at nine as the referee counts Nikki out.

Winner:  Asuka (Retains Championship)

After the match, we see the officials checking on Nikki, and even in defeat she has a smile on her face.

We go to commercial.

We are back with Oliver Carter and Ashton Smith. Oliver says he has a surprise for Ashton and he shows him some new gear. Ashton says he thought they were going to have black gear. Oliver says they are not going to be like everyone else. Oliver says they will look tasty in the ring. Oliver says he has an eye for measurements, but your stuff might be a little baggy. Ashton says he doesn’t want MC Hammer pants in the ring. Ashton says to get rid of them and burn them. Oliver says it is a joke, he got Ashton’s measurements from his wife. Ashton says they need to take the Tag Team Division by storm. Ready and forward.

We go to Nina Samuels.

She mentions how the British Bulldogs became the first British wrestlers to appear at Wrestlemania. They would face the Dream Team for the tag titles and have a chance to be the first British champions.

Match Number Two: The Dream Team versus The British Bulldogs for the WWF Tag Team Championship (from Wrestlemania 2)

Smith and Valentine start things off and Smith with a shoulder tackle. They lock up and Valentine with a forearm and elbow. Smith with punches to Valentine. They lock up and Valentine with a double leg take down but he misses an elbow drop. Smith with an arm wringer. Valentine with a hip toss but he misses a forearm. Dynamite tags in and he connects with forearms and he sends Valentine into the turnbuckles and Valentine falls to the mat. Dynamite gets a near fall.

Dynamite with a shoulder tackle and kicks to Valentine. Dynamite with a suplex and Smit tags in. Smith goes for a suplex but Valentine blocks it. Valentine gets Smith up but Smith gets back to his feet and he hits a suplex on Valentine for a near fall. Valentine goes to the floor to regroup. Valentine gets back into the ring.

They lock up and Valentine with forearms in the corner. Smith with an Irish whip but Valentine with a forearm out of the corner and a head butt to the midsection. Beefcake tags in and he works on the arm. Smith with a press slam to Beefcake. Dynamite tags in and he connects with a clothesline and chop for a near fall. Dynamite with a small package for a near fall.

Smith tags in and he goes for a fisherman’s suplex and gets a near fall. Valentine tags ina nd he comes off the turnbuckles with a chop. Valentine with a suplex for a near fall. Valentine with an elbow to the head and he applies a reverse chin lock. Dynamite tags in and he connects with a forearm but Valentine fires back and they continue the exchange until Dynamite gets the advantage and connects with shoulders in the corner. Dynamite sends Valentine face first into the mat and Dynamite gets a near fall.

Smith tags in and then he tags Dynamite back in. They hit a double shoulder tackle and Dynamite gets a near fall. Beefcake comes in and he punches Dynamite. The referee sends Beefcake back to the apron. Dynamite with a sunset flip for a near fall. Dynamite with a back breaker for a near fall. Dynamite gets another near fall. Valentine with forearms to Dynamite. Valentine sets for a piledriver and he hits one for a near fall.

Valentine gets a near fall but Dynamite is able to get his arm up to break the count. Valentine lands awkwardly on Dynamite’s boots. Dynamite with a press slam to Valentine after Valentine goes up top. All four men get in the ring and Smith presses Dynamite over his head but he puts Dynamite down when Valentine goes to the floor.

Valentine with kicks to Dynamite. Smith tags in and he punches Valentine. Smith gets Valentine up for a running power slam but he can only get a near fall. Smith with a suplex and he gets a near fall. Valentine with an Irish whip that sends Smith shoulder first into the ring post. Valentine stomps on the arm and shoulder. Valentine with a hammer lock and Beefcake tags in and connects with a punch off the turnbuckles.

Beefcake with a hammer lock and then he drops Smith to the mat. Beefcake with a boot to the back. Beefcake sends Smith shoulder first into the turnbuckles. Valentine tags in and he connects with a forearm off the turnbuckles. Valentine gets Smith up for a shoulder breake and he pulls Smith up before the referee can make the three count.

Smith sends Valentine into Dynamite on the turnbuckles and Smith gets the three count.

Winners: The British Bulldogs (new champions)

We go to commercial.

We have a video package for Ridge Holland. He says he is from Yorkshire. He has scratched and clawed his entire life. That made him who he is today. Don’t get it twisted or mistaken when he tips his hat to you because he is not showing you respect. He is here to dominate NXT UK. Don’t bother looking over your shoulder or around the corner if you are one of those so called champions because I am right behind you. No one is stopping Ridge Holland.

Andy Shepherd mentions that Nikki Cross will be on next week’s show with William Regal and Drew McIntyre with their picks.

Aoife Valkyrie says she wants to relive the Beast From the East when Finn Balor faced Kevin Owens for the NXT Championship. She says she loved it when Kevin Owens defeated Sami Zayn for the title. She mentions the disrespect that Kevin showed the fans while Finn returns as a hero. Finn Balor is one of the reasons why she became a wrestler.

Match Number Three: Kevin Owens versus Finn Balor for the NXT Championship (from Beast in the East on July 4, 2015)

Balor did his full fledged demon deal.  The announcers pushed that whoever won would be champion going into Takeover: Brooklyn the night before Summerslam.

They showed Hideo Itami watching from ringside and noted that he was attacked in a parking lot at Full Sail University before an event and that "many believe" Owens was responsible.

TONS of streamers thrown for Finn Balor.  I popped so huge for that.  That may be the first time we've seen that in a WWE ring, so I'd be curious to see if it immigrates over to NXT shows here in the States.  Obviously streamers have been seen here in ECW and Ring of Honor.

They had Japanese presentation of flowers before the match.  Owens threw them into the crowd to show what a prick he is.  I love it.

Balor hit a dropkick at the bell and went for the double stomp.  Owens went to the floor to escape and Balor dove to the floor.  They battled on the floor as the audience chanted "NXT."  They returned to the ring and went back and forth.  Owens was sent to the floor and Balor drilled him with a dropkick to the floor.  This is great stuff early.

Balor nailed a dropkick in the corner as Owens was on the floor sitting in a chair.  Balor brought him back into the ring and lit him up with chops and kicks.  Owens caught him during a high cross bodyblock attempt and slammed him down for a two count.  Owens nailed a series of rights and drilled his foot into Balor's chest.  The crowd chanted, "Let's go Balor."

Balor fought back but was beaten  down.  Owens worked him over but Balor kicked out.  Owens cinched in a chinlock as the crowd rallied Balor.   Balor fought back with a shoulderblock but was beaten down.  Balor was sent into the stairs on the floor.   Owens continued to work over Balor.

Balor rolled through a pinfall attempt and finally nailed Owens with a dropkick.  Balor nailed a top rope forearm smash for a two count.   Owens cut off Balor and mocked John Cena by nailing the Five Knuckle Shuffle.  Owens went for the AA but Balor escaped and drilled him.  The announcers noted Cena would be in the main event later.  Balor worked over Owens but Owens went for the AA.  Balor escaped and nailed the Pele Kick.

Balor nailed an awesome dive over the top to the floor.   He nailed a double stomp and caught him with an inverted DDT for a two count.  Balor missed the double stomp.  Owens suplexed him into the corner and nailed the cannonball.   Owens went for the package piledriver variation and nailed it but Balor kicked up.

Owens told Balor he was "done" but was caught with Sling Bade.  Balor went to the top but Owens recovered and nailed a headbutt to prevent him from coming off the top.  Balor fought him off and nailed the top rope double stomp but Owens kicked out at the last second.

Balor sent Owens into the corner and nailed a series of strikes.  Owens fought back but Balor got the best of the exchange.  Balor placed him on the top rope.  They battled with Balor trying for a superplex.  Owens teased a Fisherman's Buster but Balor escaped.  Owens finally nailed a rolling Samoan Drop off the ropes for a close near fall.  The crowd chanted, "This is awesome."

Owens went for the swanton but Balor put his knees up.  Balor scored a two count.  The crowd chanted, "Let's go Balor."  Balor charged but was caught wth a superkick for a two count.  Owens slapped Balor and began screaming that Balor can't beat him.  Balor slapped him back.  Owens went for the Popup Powerbomb but Balor leapfrogged out of it and nailed a lariat.

Balor worked over Owens and ascended to the top.  He nailed the double stomp and scored the pin.

Winner: Finn Balor (new champion)

We go to credits.
