WHO GETS A SHOT AT CODY, CAGE AND TAZ, BUCKS AND HARDY TAKE PRIVATE PARTY AND JANELA - ONGOING AEW DYNAMITE REPORT

By Cory Strode on 2020-05-27 20:37:00

It's Wednesday and yup know what that means, no, not New Comic Book Day, it's a new episode of AEW Dynamite from Daly's Plaza in Jacksonville, Florida, and Jim Ross, Excalibur, and Tony Schiavone are our announcers, and it's time to see what happens now that Double or Nothing are in the books!

We started with a video package showing what happened at Double or Nothing, and then we go to the Inner Cicrle.  Jericho says that the Inner Circle will have a pep rally to get over the loss and figure out what to do with their Inner Circle Stadium Stampede shirt they have in a couple of boxes on as table.  However, Santana and Ortiz say thy have a few more shirts than those boxes, open the truck to show they have a truckload of shirts!

We then get a rundown of the card coming up and we go to the arena where Joey Janela and Private Party are coming to the ring, we then see that earlier today, the Elite are waiting.  Matt Hardy demands this be recorded, and Adam Page says he has to go back to the hotel, followed by Kenny Omega.  Matt says it is the first time they are EVER teaming up, and the Young Bucks ask for a different version of Matt.  Matt V2 comes out, and they says they want and older version, and Matt V1 comes out and asked if they are ready to head out and be spot monkeys!

Back in the arena, Matt comes out, followed by the Bucks.

Matt Hardy and the Young Bucks vs Joey Janela and Private Party.

  • Matt and Marquin start the match and Nick tags in before they lock up
  • Matt hits a leg drop on Marquin and Isiah comes in to get double teamed.
  • Janela tags in to get a series of moves by all three on the Young Bucks side
  • Nick and Isiah work for a bit and Nick is tossed out of the ring, and Joey Janela hits a series of moves on Nick outside the ring.
  • Isiah puts Nick in an abdominal stretch.
  • Nick escapes, avoids Silly String and the battle goes outside the ring and it becomes a fight between the Butcher and Blade outside the barricade.
  • They go back into the ring where Nick takes out each member of the other team in a series of quick moves.
  • Hardy is tagged in and works over Isiah
  • Hardy hits a side effect and gets a two count.
  • They battler in the ring, Marquin comes in the ring and Hardy hits a DDT on both, and then when Joey Janela comes in, he gets taken out.  Hardy stacks all thee up and hits a moonsault on all three for a two count on...um...all of them.
  • Matt tags in and works over Isiah until Joey Janela works a way in.  Janella hits a drop kick on both of the Young Bucks and Nick enters the ring
  • Janela gets hung up on the ropes by Hardy and gets a superkick from the Bucks.
  • Private Party hits a stereo Topi on the Buck and it looks like Marquin's knee is hurt
  • Isiah hits a leg sweep on Hardy for a two count.
  • Isiah works over Hardy in the corner until Matt hits a superkick on him
  • The Bucks hit More Bang For Your Buck on Isiah and Matt covers him for the three count.

Your winners, Matt Hardy and the Young Bucks

Matt Hardy helps Marquin to the back and after he is gone, Butcher and the Blade rush the ring and attack the Bucks, laying them out.  A truck pulls up and Dax Hardwood and Cash Wheeler, the team known as FTR show up in a truck and march to the ring. The tease they will attack the Bucks and instead attack Butcher and Blade, taking Blade out with a spike pile driver. Butcher then comes in and gets taken out as well.

They leave the ring and we go to commercial and I catch my breath.

We get back to the announcers discussing FTR coming to AEW and then we get Jon Moxley's music and he's on his way to the ring. We get highlights of the match on Double or Nothing between him and Mr. Brodie Lee as he comes to the ring.

Mox sits down with the announcers and says he feels terrible after the war he's gone through. Now, he has to deal with Brian Cage as Cage and Taz comes to the ring, and we see highlights from the ladder match Cage won. Lee Johnson is in the ring and gets a fist to the face before the bell for signing to work the match.

Brian Cage vs Lee Johnson

Cage starts by attacking Johnson and beats him down in the corners. Cage ends it quickly with a Drill Claw, which is a vertical drop DDT.

Your winner: Brian Cage

Taz starts by saying he respects Mox, and he's paid his dues.  However, and Fyter Fest, he faces Cage, and Taz wants him to bring his best because he is dealing with a machine in Brian Cage.  Taz says Cage will tear his heart out of his chest.  Beat him in you can, survive if he lets you.

It's time for another commercial break!

When we come back, Britt Baker is on her watch to the ramp to let us know how she is doing after her injury last week.  Tony is waiting for her and she has a wheelchair and an easel so that Britt can give more rules of being a role model. Britt gets the mic for her and lets us know that rule #3 is:

Don't hurt the role model.

Britt says she has a broken tibia and it's a conspiracy to take her out.  She shows how everyone in last week's match attacked her. Britt is friends with top TNT executives and demands Reba flip the page.  She shows each person in the match and runs them down one by one. They are ALL part of the conspiracy. Reba flips the page again to a blank page and then quickly flips it back.  She brings over a conspiracy board showing the connections between all of the women who are after her. She claims Ref Aubrey Edwards is at the center of it.

All of them are now put on notice and Britt will be back at All Out and hands the mic back to Tony and leaves. We do do as we go to commercial, one of which is in ad for the AEW toy line.

We come back to Alex Marvez with the Inner Circle.  Jericho tells him to shut his ass and explains the pomp and circumstance coming until he sees Orange Cassidy behind them. He ends the promo and says he'll see Orange leter.

In the ring is Christi James, and next out in the NEW women's champion, Hikaru Shida with highlights from her championship win.

Christi James vs Hikaru Shida

They tie up as the crowd chants Holy Shida.  The go into the ropes and break clean, and James starts mocking Shida.  James takes down Shida with a kick and Shida takes command of the match for a bit until James hits a arm drag after working the ropes.

They each grab a handful of hair and Shida tosses James into the corner and takes over with Irsh Whips.  Shida drapes James on the side of the ring and nails her with a running knee from the outside.  Shida hits a back breaker in the ring and then locks in a modified camel clutch.  Shida gives up the hold and then hits a vertical suplex and a two count on James. When they get up, James hits an insigiri and goes to the top. James hits a flying sunset flip, rolls through and pins Shida for a two count.

James misses a Lionsault, and Shida nails a pair of running knees and pins James for the two count.  Shida then follows up with a falcon arrow and a three count.

Your winner Hikaru Shida

During the commercial, we'll have picture in picture as we get the highlights of the match we just watched. We then see Page and Omega drinking in their hotel room.

We come back to the highlights of the TNT Championship finals.

Cody then comes to the ring with Arn Anderson to talk to Tony. Cody asks why Tom Brady is his favorite quarterback, because Brady was not first picked.  And neither was Cody. But it all resolved by the championship he holds in his hand.  His story is not that of someone who got ahead via nepotism.  He explains that his mother taught him what he needed to know about grit.  He will outwork you and if you are critical of him, watch what he will do next.  He will defend his title every week in an open challenge.

Cody says it is his obligation to give the viewers his best and he asks us to follow him. And we follow him to commercial.

We come back to Kip Sabian and Penelope Ford coming to the ring, followed by Jimmy Havok.  Next out is SCU, Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky. The winner of the match gets a world title shot.   Havok and Sabian attack SCU before the bell

Jimmy Havok and Kip Sabian with Penelope Ford vs SCU

As the bell rings, Kaz takes down Sabian and Sky knocks Havok out of the ring.  Kaz tags in Sky.  Sky hits a back breaker and a two count on Sabian. Kaz tags in and hits a leg lariat on Sabian for a two count. Sabian is able to count with a jawbreaker and tag in Havok, and Kaz takes him down with an arm drag.  Kaz drop a knee on Havok's arm and keeps working on it./

Sky tags in and takes over on Havok.  Sky kicks Havok in the back on the head for a one count and then Kaz tags in and goes back to working over the arm.  They run the ropes, and Sky kicks Havok off the rope, Kaz gets a release German suplex and gets a two count. Kaz works over Havok in the corner. Sabian tries to interfere and Kaz knocks him down, rolls through on a waist lock by Havok for a two count.  Sabian is able to kick Kaz in the back and Havok mounts Kaz for a pounding.  Sabian tags in and the double team until Sabian gets a two count on Kaz.  Sabian keeps control into he tags in Havok.  Sabian slingshots Kaz into a eye poke by Havok while the Ref keeps Sky from coming in to help Kaz.  Havok and gets the two count on Kaz.

Havok fishhook's Kaz and tags in Sabian so they can keep working him over. Sabian drops Kaz for a one count.  Sabian bludgeons Kaz down, tags in Havok and we go to commercial.

We come back to Kaz being beat down by Havok.  Sabian is tagged in and Kaz starts his comeback and  is able to tag in Sky who takes out both Sabian and Havok. Sly hits a twisted cutter and puts Sabina into a dragon sleeps, but it's broken up by Havok.  Havok tags ion and Sky gets in a few blows before Havok is able to get a Death Valley Driver, tags in Sabian, for a foot stomp off the top and gets a pin for a two count.

All four men battle for a bit, and it ends with Kaz tagging in to hit an assisted swinging DDT on Havok for a two count.  Kaz brings in Havok off the apron for a cutter and a two count.  Sabian tries to leap on Kaz to break it up, but Kaz moves so that Sabian lands on Havok, and is then tossed out of the ring. Sky tags in and they set up for the SCU later, but Ford holds Kaz's boot forcing him out of the ring.  That allowed Havok to hit a Michonoku Driver with Sabian's help on Sky for the three count

Your winners:  Kip Sabian and Jimmy Havok
