WILL WWE TURN TO RUSSO, WWE’S MOUNT RUSHMORE, THE MIZ AND MORE

With WWE RAW ratings now dropping below 2m viewers, and seemingly beginning to settle at that point, despite what you and I think of him – how much longer of the curve dropping and ratings stabilising below 2m viewers is it until Vince McMahon brings back Vince Russo? As I said, regardless of what we think, this is Vince McMahon, who has done stranger things in the past…

I don’t see any way that happens.  Vince McMahon would cede control to Stephanie and Paul Levesque before he would bring back Russo as a cog in the machine.  There’s no way he would give Russo booking control, nor should he since Russo’s creative peaked over 20 years ago.  Plus, there are a lot of issues that come with bringing him back since he is, well, Vince Russo.  And, with Paul Heyman already on the payroll, it would make more sense to give him a chance first if Vince was going to hand over control.  The problem isn’t the people who are on the creative team, it’s the guy in charge of them.

Would it be OK to send non-wrestling related questions to the Q and A, since there isn't a lot going on right now?

Sure, feel free.  I could probably through one in during a Q and A.

Thinking about my Mt. Rushmore of WWE, I figure that without Hogan in the early Wrestlemania years, Austin to lead the Attitude Era into beating WCW, Cena carrying the company through a long stretch as well as being the incredible Brand ambassador that he is, or Vince himself for running the whole show, WWE probably wouldn’t be here today. Do you think the company could have survived all these years without any of these 4? And is there anyone else you’d say was so vital that the company would’ve folded without?

You have to have Vince, for sure.  You have to have Hogan as well.  I agree with Steve Austin but have to replace Cena with The Rock.  Austin and The Rock were the major drivers of the period that vaulted WWE to where it is today.

What is your take on Dutch Mantell circulating the rumor that the WWE is going to be sold to ESPN and Fox.

I can’t say for sure but it seems like he was trying to spark discussion.  If so, I guess it worked.

What are your thoughts on, and do you know how The Miz feels, about him being in a tag team rather than singles?

I have never spoken to the man but I can tell you most wrestlers would rather be a single than in a tag team, and that goes to almost all who have already achieved success as a single.  I think he would rather be a single than a tag wrestler, I know I would.
