WWE STATEMENT ON RETURNING TO LIVE TV BROADCASTS

By Mike Johnson on 2020-04-12 00:39:00

As PWInsider.com reported yesterday, WWE changed their plans to pre-tape four to five weeks of TV leading into the 5/10 Money in the Bank PPV.  WWE taped Friday's edition of Smackdown in advance, then canceled plans to tape the 4/17 episode, instead deciding to begin broadcast live episodes of Raw, NXT and Smackdown as of this Monday 4/13.

In a statement to ESPN, WWE stated, “We believe it is now more important than ever to provide people with a diversion from these hard times. We are producing content on a closed set with only essential personnel in attendance following appropriate guidelines while taking additional precautions to ensure the health and wellness of our performers and staff. As a brand that has been woven into the fabric of society, WWE and its Superstars bring families together and deliver a sense of hope, determination and perseverance.”
