WWE FILES NEW TRADEMARKS RELATED TO THE REVIVAL

By Mike Johnson on 2020-02-28 23:11:00

WWE filed for trademarks on 2/24 for the following:

*The Mechanics - The original tag team name for Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson in 2014 in WWE NXT before they settled on The Revival team name.  The filing was listed as specifically for "Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely, blogs, in the field of sports entertainment.

*No Flips Just Fists - this phrase had been featured in the past on Revival t-shirts sold by WWE.  The trademark filing was specifically for clothing, noting, "G & S: Clothing, namely, tops, shirts, jackets, sweatshirts, hoodies; outerwear, namely, coats; bottoms, pants, shorts, underwear, dresses, pajamas, lingerie, clothing ties, scarves, gloves, swimwear; Halloween and masquerade costumes; footwear, namely, shoes, sneakers, slippers, flip flops, boots; headwear, namely, hats, caps; wrist bands; bandanas."

The filings were made just days after PWInsider.com reported on 2/22 that The Revival applied to trademark the following terms on 2/18:

*Top Guys

*Say Yeah

*No Flips, Just Fists

All three trademarks were for "G & S: Hats; Hooded sweatshirts; Pants; Shirts" and "G & S: Entertainment in the nature of wrestling contests; Entertainment services, namely, live appearances by a professional wrestling and sports entertainment personality; Entertainment services, namely, personal appearances by a professional wrestling and sports entertainment personality; Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer; Providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; Providing online interviews featuring professional wrestling and sports entertainment personality in the field of professional wrestling and sports entertainment for entertainment purposes."

The Revivals' trademarks would seem to indicate they are planning for a post-WWE future, with WWE filing their trademarks to potentially block them from using The Mechanics team name and the "No Flips Just Fists" phrase if and when they exit World Wrestling Entertainment.
