Ring of Honor announced the following:
A huge match for the ROH World Tag Team Title has been signed for 18th Anniversary, as Villain Enterprises’ Marty Scurll and Flip Gordon will challenge for the belts in Las Vegas on March 13.
As of now, the match will pit Scurll and Gordon against current champions Jay Lethal and Jonathan and Gresham. Lethal and Gresham have a title defense against 2 Guys 1 Tag (Silas Young and Josh Woods) at Bound By Honor in Nashville, Tenn., on Feb. 28. Regardless of which team wins that bout, Scurll and Gordon will be in the title match at Anniversary.
Scurll and Gordon are both outstanding singles competitors, but they’ve also had success as a tag team. “The Villain” and “The Mercenary” have defeated teams such as Flamita and Tracy Williams and the tandem of international stars Kyle Fletcher and Lucky Kid.
They’re looking to become the second team representing Villain Enterprises to win the tag team title, joining PCO and Brody King, who held the belts last year.
Lethal and Gresham defeated the Briscoes, the greatest tag team in ROH history, at Final Battle in December to win the belts. In doing so, Lethal, who was recently named ROH Wrestler of the Decade, became a Grand Slam champion.
