Kong, real name Kia Stevens. was likely written out of AEW storylines as Netlix's fourth and final season of GLOW will begin filming next month, meaning Kong will be preparing for her work on that series, where she portrays Tamme Dawson aka The Welfare Queen.
In 2018, Entertainment Weekly named the fourth episode of GLOW season two as the best TV episode of the year. That episode focused strongly on Tamme going to visit her son in college, where he learns about her decision to become a pro wrestler. Stevens delivers an amazing performance in the episode.
Kong had been out of professional wrestling and focusing on acting until the advent of All Elite Wrestling, returning as a surprise on their debut PPV, Double or Nothing.
