EDGE ON RUMBLE RETURN, THE ROCK ON MCINTYRE & MORE ROYAL RUMBLE NEWS AND NOTES

To follow up on something discussed on the Royal Rumble post-game show with Mike Epsenhart for PWInsider Elite subscribers, Kevin Dunn was listed as the director of the Royal Rumble PPV last night.  He and Michael Mansury go back and forth on directing major shows, but we are told Dunn was in the primary position last night.  It's been passed around that I reported Dunn was not at the show, but that was never stated or reported.

Dolph Ziggler was not happy about the live production missing him taking Edge's first spear:

I would expect that the company will edit the material and get the spot back in for the VOD verson of the Rumble.

The Rock commented on Drew McIntyre's big win last night:

There were attempts to bring in Melina and Victoria for last night's Rumble at one point.  No word why it didn't happen.  Melina worked the NWA TV tapings in Atlanta over the weekend.

Mauro Ranallo missed Rumble weekend as he was booked for Showtime boxing.

All Elite Wrestling star Sammy Guevara was outside Minute Main Field last night, filming content for his blog, including Guevara standing in and riding a children's tank, playing off of the DX invasion of WCW.

Matt Hardy, who has about five weeks left on his current WWE deal, was not backstage at the Rumble.

There were all sorts of issues last night with fans picking up tickets at Will Call, PWInsider.com has been told.  

The WWE Network has added new carousels dedicated to Edge, Drew McIntyre and Charlotte Flair following the Rumble PPV.
