EVOLVE 144 REPORT: LUMIS VERSUS BRIGGS, MANSOOR VERSUS FOX, AND MORE

Welcome to PWInsider.com’s live coverage of Evolve 144 from the Orlando Live Events Center in Fern Park, Florida.

Match Number One:  Joe Gacy (with Eddie Kingston and Donovan) versus Denzel Dejournette

Denzel goes for the leg but Gacy avoids him.  Denzel goes for the leg again and misses.  Gacy with a kick to the leg.  Gacy with another kick to the leg.  Denzel gets the leg but Gacy gets to the ropes.  Denzel with a take down and gator rolls.  Denzel backs Gacy into the corner and gives a clean break.  Gacy with a forearm and side head lock and shoulder tackle.  Denzel with an arm drag into an arm bar.  Gacy with a chop but Denzel with a shoulder tackle and a belly-to-belly suplex for a near fall.   

Denzel tries to suplex Gacy back into the ring but Gacy stops him and Gacy with a kick and forearm to the back.  Gacy with knees and he gets a near fall.  Gacy runs his forearm across the bridge of the nose.  Gacy with elbows in the corner.  Gacy with a chop and Denzel goes down.  Denzel with punches in the corner but Gacy with a forearms to Denzel and the referee warns Gacy.  Gacy with an Irish whip and he runs into an elbow.  Denzel with a kick to Gacy and then he hits a flying clothesline and an overhead belly-to-bely suplex and a second one.  The straps come down and he hits a splash into the corner.  Denzel with another suplex and he gets a near fall.  

Denzel gets Joe on his shoulders but Joe with elbows and a sleeper.  Gacy with an uppercut and he gets Denzel up for a moment but Denzel gets to his feet.  That does not last long after Gacy connects with a running boot to the chest.  Gacy with a forearm and clothesline for the three count.

Winner:  Joe Gacy

After the match, Eddie Kingston gets on the mic and he says he is not happy.  The new year has not been good for the Unwanted.  The new policy is win or you are out.  Eddie mentions his No Holds Barred Match.  Eddie says he is a fighter.  He will gouge you, he will bite you, and he will punch you in the face.  Try your submission stuff but I will fight you with my hands.

Match Number Two:  Stephen Wolf versus Brendan Vink

Wolf with a waist lock and Vink sends him to teh mat.  Vink blocks Wolf's attempt to go for the leg.  Wolf with a side head lock.  Wolf goes for an arm drag but Vink blocks it.  Wolf goes for a head scissors take down but Vink blocks it and Vink misses a splash into the corner.  Wolf with a running splash into the corner.  Wolf goes for a sunset flip but Vink stays on his feet.  Vink picks up Wolf and Wolf with a drop kick.  Vink with a power slam followed by forearms.  

Vink hip tosses Wolf across the ring and then kicks him in the chest.  Vink sends Wolf to the floor.  Wolf gets back into the ring and Vink with punches in the corner.  Vink with a back elbow and he gets a near fall.  Vink sends Wolf into the corner and punches him in the midsection and chops him.  Vink with a kick and he chokes Wolf in the ropes.  Wolf with shoulders but they have little effect on Vink.  Vink with a knee.  Wolf with kicks and elbows to Vink followed by a rolling elbow.  Vink with an Irish whip but he misses a splash and Wolf with a kick.

Wolf with a jumping side kick and he goes for a quebrada but Vink catches Wolf.  Wolf with a tornado DDT.  Wolf with a springboard drop kick to knock Vink off the apron.  Wolf with a flip dive onto Vink.  Wolf with a springboard cross body for a near fall.  Wolf with an enzuigiri from the apron and he goes up top. Vink stops Wolf and Vink with a super choke slam.  Vink gets Wolf up but Wolf counters with a sunset flip.  Wolf with a super kick and knee.  Wolf with a shooting star press.  Wolf misses a shooting star press and Vink with a boot for the three count.

Winner:  Brendan Vink

Match Number Three:  Anthony Greene (with Brandi Lauren) versus Rick Bugez (with Avery Taylor)

Brandi says she doesn't mind that Avery is out with Rick but she laid her out last night in Ybor.  Greene tells Brandi to look at the way that Bugez looks.  Maybe you should work on your lock ups at the Performance Center.  

Rick says he you belong in Evolve.  

Anthony says he though PC stood for Performance Center, not pretty crappy.  Anthony says if he loses, he will never return to Orlando.

Bugez with a side head lock take down.  Greene with a side head lock and Bugez with a belly-to-back suplex.  Bugez with a back elbow and he leaps over Greene and hits an exploder.  Bugez sends Greene into the turnbuckles.  Greene with a clothesline.  Greene with a chop.  Greene with a hard Irish whip.  Greene with a neck breaker for a near fall.  Greene misses a splash into the corner and hits the turnbuckles.  Bugez with a reverse atomic drop.  Bugez with a butterfly suplex.  Bugez with a clothesline.  Bugez with a bulldog and he goes for a splash and Greene gets his knees up.  Bugez with a side slam for a near fall.  

Bugez gets Greene on his shoulders and Brandi gets on the apron.  Greene with a low blow.  Brandi sends Avery into the turnbuckles.  Briggs comes out and choke slams Greene and Bugez with a splash for the three count.

Winner:  Rick Bugez

Match Number Four:  Avery Taylor versus Brandi Lauren

Taylor with a double leg take down and kicks.  Lauren goes to the floor.  Lauren kicks Taylor.  Brandi with a forearm and Taylor with a suicide dive onto Greene.  Brandi with a drop kick through the ropes.  Brandi sends Taylor into the apron.  Lauren with a back elbow and she gets a near fall.  Lauren with a kick to the midsection.  Lauren with a catapult into the ropes and she gets a near fall.  Taylor with a head scissors take down.  Taylor with a rolling elbow.  Taylor with a spear and Greene puts the foot on the ropes.  

Brandi with a rollup for the three count.

Winner:  Brandi Lauren

Match Number Five:  Jaoquin Wilde versus Leon Ruff

Ruff with a side head lock.  Wilde with a take down.  Wilde with a leg take down and he gets a near fall.  Wilde with a knee.  Ruff with a rollup for a near fall.  Ruff goes to the apron and he punches Wilde.  Ruff uses the ropes to avoid Wilde and sends Wilde to the floor.  Ruff with a thrust kick.  Ruff flips into the crowd and Wilde with a dive over the guardrails.  Wilde sends Ruff to the floor and he punches Ruff.  Wilde with a clothesline.  Wilde with another clothesline.  Wilde misses a clothesline and Ruff with forearms.  Wilde with a clothesline.  

Wilde with a shoulder in the corner.  Wilde with a snap mare.  Wilde with a rear chin lock.  Wilde with a leap frog and back elbow off the turnbuckles.  Ruff wtih a boot and enzuigiri misses.  Ruff with a suplex.  Ruff with a knee and back heel kick.  Ruff with forearms.  Ruff with a jumping neck breaker for a near fall.  Ruff with a waist lock.  Wilde with a super kick.  Wilde leap frogs Ruff and Ruff with a cutter and German suplex for a near fall.  Wilde crotches Ruff on the turnbuckles.  Wilde with a head scissors and a Codebreaker.  Ruff with a clothesline.  Ruff with kicks and Wilde with a kick.  Wilde with a facebuster.  Wilde gets the three count.

Winner:  Jaoquin Wilde

Match Number Six:  Non Title Match: BESTies in the World (Mat Fitchett and Davey Vega) versus The Skulk (Liam Gray and Adrian Alanis)

Alanis and Vega start things off.  They lock up Alanis with a clean break.  They lock up and Alanis with a clean break.  Alanis with a shoulder tackle.  Alanis sends Vega into the turnbuckles and Adrian with a back elbow off the turnbuckles.  Mat tags in and he kicks Alanis in the arm.  Vega trips Alanis and Mat with a kick to the head.  Alanis with a chop.  Vega with a chin lock and forearm.  Alanis with a gutwrench but Vega blocks it.  Mat knocks Gray off the apron.  Vega with an abdominal stretch.  Vega sends Gray to the floor and Alanis with a rollup.  Alanis with a back breaker and Gray tags in and gets a near fall.  

Gray with an elbow and Alanis with a back breaker.  Vega with forearms to Gray and Alanis.  Mat tags in and he drop kicks Alanis.  Mat with a pele kick on the apron.  Mat runs into a boot and he hits a rana.  Vega tags in and they hit a double kick in the corner for a near fall.   Vega wtih a chop.  Mat tags in and kicks Alanis and hits a drop kick.  Alanis with a boot and he tags in Gray.  Gray with a drop kicks and then he sends Fitchett to the apron and hits a leg drop to the back of the head.

Gray with a fisherman's suplex.  Gray with a lungblower for a near fall.  Gray tags in and Vega with a super kick.  Alanis with a drop kick off the turnbuckles.  Alanis with elbows in the corner and he sends Vega to the floor.  Gray with a suicide dive to Vega.  Alanis and Gray with a flatliner for the three count.

Winners:  Adrian Alanis and Liam Gray

Match Number Seven: Noah Clay versus Donovan versus Troy Hollywood versus Bobby Flaco in an Elimination Match

Before the match can start, Curt Stallion makes his way to the ring.  

Curt tells the young bucks that he went to the back and he asked for a favor.  He says he was the breakout star of 2019 and he knows what you are doing.  Curt says he has been added to the match.

Clay goes after Flaco and Hollywood while Donovan punches Stallion.  Clay with a drop kick to Stallion and a running boot for a near fall.  Flaco misses a double jump back drop and Clay with a spinebuster to Hollywood.  Clay misess a boot off the turnbuckles but hits an STO and he gets a near fall.  Clay and Stallion exchange slaps.  Clay super kicks Stallion and Stallion with a reverse DDT for a three count.

Noah Clay eliminated

Flaco with a springboard drop kick to Donovan.  Hollywood misses a kick and hits a German suplex.  Hollywood kicks Donovan and hits a German suplex.  Hollywood with a round kick and German suplex.  Hollywood drop kicks Stallion to the floor.  Hollywood kicks Flaco and then he kicks Donovan.  Hollywood kicks Stallion and then he goes up top and hits an elbow drop for a near fall on Stallion.  Hollywood with a kcik to Stallion but Stallion with a hanging pedigree to eliminate Hollywood.

Troy Hollywood Eliminated

Flaco with a srpingboard drop kick to Stallion and a kick to Donovan.  Flaco with a DDT to Stallion and a DDT to Donovan for a near fall.  Flaco with a cross body onto Stallion and Donovan.  Flaco rolls Donovan into the ring and he hits a double jump cutter for a near fall.  Donovan hip tosses Flaco into the turnbuckles.  Donovan with a brain buster to eliminate Flaco.

Bobby Flaco Eliminated

Eddie Kingston comes to ringside.Stallion punches Donovan and Donovan punches back.  They continue to go back and forth.  Donovan with a suicide dive.  Donovan with a clothesline and he gets a near fall.  Stallion with a neck breaker for a near fall.  Stallion with a forearm.  Stallion with forearms.  Donovan with forearms.  Stallion with a reverse DDT for the three count.

Winner:  Curt Stallion

After the match, Eddie Kingston tells Donovan he is canceled.  He told him to win or go home.  He tells Donovan he is out.  

Match Number Eight:  No Holds Barred Match: Eddie Kingston versus Anthony Guiterrez

Anthony with a kick to the head and legs but Kingston with punches.  Anthony with kicks.  Eddie goes to the floor and he gets a chair and throws it into the ring.  Anthony with a series of kicks and Eddie with kicks.  Anthony with kicks and punches in the corner but Eddie with punches to Anthony that sends him to the mat.  Anthony with a single leg take down and a shooting star press for a near fall.  Kingston with an exploder.  Eddie with a chop and he chokes Anthony.  Eddie sends Anthony to the floor.

Eddie with a forearm to the back.  Eddie with forearms and a chop.  Eddie with more chops that echo through the building.  Eddie hangs Anthony over the apron and slams the back of his head into the apron.  Eddie with a forearm and he returns to the ring.  Eddie with more chops and Anthony with a triangle and Eddie with a power bomb.   Eddie with more chops and a slap.  Eddie kicks Anthony in the head.  Anthony with a slap and kicks but Eddie with punches and head butts.  Eddie chokes Anthony in the corner.  Eddie with palm strikes to the midsection.  Eddie drops Anthony on the apron after Anthony tries for a guillotine.  Anthony with a springboard cross body and he gets a near fall.  

Eddie gets a near fall.  Anthony with slaps to Eddie and Eddie wants him to hit him harder.  Anthony with more kicks to the leg and a back heel kick that staggers Kingston.  Anthony gets Kingston to the mat and Anthony with a triangle and Kingston get to the ropes but there are no rope breaks.  Kingston taps out.

Winner:  Anthony Guiterrez

After the match, Eddie Kingston goes the announce position and says something.  

Match Number Nine:  AR Fox (with Ayla and The Skulk) versus Mansoor

They lock up and Fox with a wrist lock.  Mansoor with a take down.  They lock up and Mansoor with a side head lock.  Fox with an escape and arm bar.  They lock up and Mansoor with a waist lock and Mansoor blocks a kick and Fox with a head scissors but Mansoor goes into the corner and takes Fox down with a head scissors. They kip up at the same time and go to a stalemate.  They shake hands and Mansoor tries to kick Fox but Fox blocks it and flips Mansoor to the mat.  Fox kicks Mansoor from the ropes and Fox with a Tiger Feint Kick to the back.  Mansoor wtih a shoudler and he goes for a slingshot move but Fox gets to the apron and Fox with a slingshot senton.  Fox with a clothesline into the corner and he skins the cat but Mansoor catches Fox and hits a power slam for a near fall.

Mansoor with a neck breaker and he gets a near fall.  Mansoor with an arm bar and Fox gets to the ropes.  Mansoor gets a near fall.  Fox blocks a kick and Mansoor with a chop.  Fox chops back.  They continue the exchange.  Fox kicks Mansoor and Mansoor with a forearm.  Mansoor kicks Fox in the corner.  The referee checks on Fox.  Fox with a punch and kick but Mansoor with a forearm to the back.  Mansoor goes for a suplex but Fox blocks it.  They go back and forth until Mansoor connects with forearms.  Fox with a suplex.  Fox with a thrust kick and Fox with a matrix and enzuigiri.  Fox with a running back elbow and a rolling cutter for a near fall.  

Fox goes for a suplex but Mansoor lands on his feet.  Fox misses a drop kick and Mansoor with a thrust kick and Falcon Arrow for a near fall.   Mansoor goes for a power bomb but Fox blocks it.  Mansoor with forearms to the back.  Mansoor with a Gory Special but Fox with an arm drag and Mansoor with a clothesline.  Mansoor with a Gory Bomb for a near fall.  Fox with a punch and Mansoor slaps Fox.  Fox slaps back.  They continue the exchange and Fox with a boot to the head.  Fox goes up top and goes for a swanton but Mansoor gets his knees up.  Fox with a clothesline into the corner.  Fox puts Mansoor on the turnbuckles.

Fox goes for a superplex but Mansoor blocks it.  Mansoor with forearms and a kick to send Fox to the mat but Fox with Lo Mein Pain but Mansoor rolls to the floor.  Fox goes up top for the coast to coast and hits it, sending Mansoor into the guardrails.  Fox with a plancha.  Fox sends Mansoor back into the ring and Fox misses a 450 splash when Mansoor moves.  They fight on the apron and Mansoor tries for a suplex on the apron.  Fox with forearms and a kick.  Mansoor with a Falcon Arrow on the apron and a twisting reverse suplex for the three count.

Winner:  Mansoor

After the match, Fox stops Mansoor and they have some words and they shake hands and hug.

Match Number Ten:  Evolve Championship Match: Josh Briggs versus Dexter Lumis

They lock up and Dexter backs Briggs into the corner and gives a clean break but Briggs pushes Dexter to the mat.  Briggs with a side head lock and shoulder tackle.  Briggs with a second shoulder tackle and Dexter gets back to his feet.  Dexter goes for the choke but Briggs escapes.  Briggs with a splash and punches.  Briggs with an Irish whip but Dexter slides to the floor.  Briggs kicks Dexter off the apron.  Briggs with a boot to Dexter and then he drops Dexter on the apron.  Briggs sends Dexter back into the ring.  Dexter with a float over and then he walks on his hands and knees at Briggs.  Dexter sends Briggs into the turnbuckles and hits a thrust kick to the back of the head for a near fall.  

Dexter gets another near fall.  Briggs sends Dexter to the floor.  Dexter works on the neck.  Dexter with a back elbow and he gets a near fall.  Briggs backs Dexter into the corner and connects with shoulders but Dexter with a clothesline for a near fall.  Briggs with punches but Dexter goes for the eyes and backs Briggs into the ropes.  Dexter sends Briggs to the floor.  Briggs and Dexter exchange strikes on the floor.  Dexter gets a near fall.  Dexter with a surfboard to Briggs.  Dexter goes to the floor when he misses Briggs.  Briggs with a flying clothesline.  Briggs with a running boot into the corner followed by a back breaker and a butterfly back breaker for a near fall.  Dexter with a power bomb for a near fall.

Dexter wtih a suplex and he follows with a slingshot suplex.  Dexter goes for the choke and Briggs gets to the ropes.  Dexter with forearms and Briggs kicks Dexter away.  Briggs with a boot and a knee lift followed by a choke slam for a near fall.  Briggs grabs Dexter by the throat but Dexter with punches.  Briggs sends Dexter into the turnbuckles.  Dexter with shoulders in the corner.  Briggs with a boot and Dexter with an enzuigiri.  Dexter sets for a superplex and hits it.  Dexter with a choke and Briggs gets to the ropes.  Dexter goes to the apron and Briggs with a punch.  Dexter drops Briggs' throat on the top ope.  Dexter with a kick and he tries to suplex Briggs to the floor but Briggs with a hip toss into a back breaker.  Briggs goes for a choke slam but Dexter escapes and Dexter with a choke slam for a near fall and then he applies a choke.  

Briggs with a boot and sit out power bomb for the three count.
