MAJOR LEAGUE WRESTLING SIGNS WITH ICM FOR REPRESENTATION AS PROMOTION LOOKS TOWARDS TV FUTURE

By Mike Johnson on 2020-01-14 13:34:00

Deadline.com is reporting that Major League Wrestling has signed with ICM Partners, who will represent the promotion and its newly launched MLW Studios, "a multi-platform media studio focusing on original scripted and non-scripted programming."

ICM, a major player in the talent industry, will be helping MLW to navigate new potential television and streaming homes beyond BeIN Sport for the promotion. ICM was created in the mid-1970s and is one of the most powerful players in the Hollywood world.

“As the only free agent in the wrestling space in 2020, MLW is in a unique position in the television landscape,” MLW's Court Bauer told Deadline. “MLW provides an extraordinary entertainment experience, showcasing some of the sport’s most storied and iconic families, embracing the Mexican lucha libre culture and presenting original content in a 360 manner."

As previously noted on PWInsider.com, MLW's Court Bauer had been in Los Angeles for meetings that would be transformative for the promotion going forward.  We are told this is the first official announcement in that direction.  The promotion remains on BeIN Sport but has the right to seek out other potential partners and homes in order to increase its footprint in the market.

MLW just taped TV this past weekend in Dallas and will return to Philadelphia and Chicago in February.
