AEW REVOLUTION ON SALE TODAY, CABANA, WHAT LED TO THE KHAN STUNNER AND MORE AEW NEWS

By Mike Johnson on 2019-12-20 09:12:00

Tickets for the 2/29 All Elite Wrestling Revolution PPV as well as the February 2020 Dynamite tapings in Atlanta and Kansas City go on sale this morning at 10 AM at www.AEWTix.com.

In regard to the Tony Khan stunner on Shawn Spears that closed the Dynamite taping this week, it was not something that was planned out or booked in advance.  The entire thing was improvised and was a Shawn Spears' suggestion on the fly:

Cody called Khan to the ring on the house mic, which was not something Khan knew was coming.  When Khan did come out, Nick Jackson suggested he hit the stunner but Khan declined.  Realizing Spears was setting up for him to do it, anyway, Khan then hit the move, because otherwise everyone would be standing around looking at each other.  Obviously, anytime someone in charge who isn't a wrestler doing something like this is going to open the door to criticism and that was certainly realized.  We are told that Khan is adamant he will not be an on-air character for the company, which is something we have seen a lot of readers believe is coming based on the segment.

Beyond announcing, Colt Cabana was doing some producing at the taping earlier this week, so it was absolutely a tryout in that sense.  We are told that the word is he did great in the role.  It's possibly he's coming back next year but that's not confirmed.

There were about 3,500 in Corpus Christie this week.

The next episode of Dynamite will be 1/1/20 in Jacksonville.  The idea will be that the first episode of the year will always be there traditonally.

There was a recognition backstage that the Dark Order angle that closed Dynamite fell extremely flat, so don't think that went unnoticed by those in charge.

Shawn Spears will be getting a tag team partner for sure, as teased on Dynamite.

Jim Ross appeared on the Sports Media with Richard Deitsch podcast and noted he would be happy to sign a new deal with the company when his current AEW contract expires.

Matt Jackson reflected on 2019 via Twitter:
