Beyond Wrestling “Uncharted Territory”

Season 2, Episode 11

12/12/19 Worcester, MA

It’s super cold outside but we’re liiiiiiiiiiiive from the White Eagle! It’s Uncharted Territory and here we are, 3 weeks away from Beyond’s New Years spectacle “Heavy Lies the Crown”. We get the other half of Beyond’s Tournament for Tomorrow preliminary rounds. Also in competition tonight are Action Wrestling champ AC Mack, Fred Yehi, RevPro’s Carlos Romo, Eddie Kingston and the return of Chris Dickinson!

Spotlight Match: Ava Everett vs Davienne

Superkick at the bell and Ava almost gets the three. Davienne presses her into a facebuster and starts slugging her down. Running corner dropkick wraps Everett around the post to the floor. Owwww. Double underhook into a Widow’s Peak. AvaTaker is Back as she sits up angry. Pummels Davienne with a running bulldog and an apron cutter. Apron legdrop to the back and a two count for Everett. Ava wants the chokeslam but eats a ripcord lariat. She rolls Davienne head into the bottom turnbuckle and hits a swinging neckbreaker for the pin.

Winner: Ava Everett

Solidly built match here. Great to see Davienne back in Beyond, maybe the Top Dogs are finding their way homeward bound? Ava put out some great work here, also providing some visual distance from Anthony Greene after his turn last week.

Match 1: Tony Deppen vs Carlos Romo

They announce that Deppen is wearing a Wheeler Yuta’s tights. Hopefully, Yuta has a second pair. Romo comes out on top of a few fast technical scrambles. Deppen is in trouble until he catches Romo with a kick on a dive attempt. Springboard codebreaker for a two count. LOUUUUUD pancake slap for another two. Deppen laying disrespectful slaps on Romo until he gets fired up on. Deppen eats a knee and a tope suicida. Deppen with a mule kick and a running of running uppercuts. Shining wizard and moonsault from Romo for a two. Deppen with a top rope double stomp for two. Corkscrew splash from Romo for a two. “This is awesome!” Says the crowd. Romo with a springboard but Deppen germans him off. Running knee closes this out for Tony Deppen.

Winner: Tony Deppen

And just like that, Worcester goes from “who is this” to “please come back”. Excellent opener. High energy action bell to bell. Worth your time. Deppen is always fun to watch but Romo stepped up tonight for us.

It’s Team Pazuzu time! Chris Dickinson and Pinkie Sanchez are out here to address one Chuck “Cold Steel” O’Neil. He demands Chuck face them. Chuck and Larry Legend are out here to remind everyone that he beat all of Team Pazuzu and broke Danhausen’s arm. Chuck knows Pazuzu likes violence but he has friends that also like violence....Kevin Ku and Dominic Garrini have joined up with “Larry’s Legends” and we have a match!

Match 2: Team Pazuzu (Chris Dickinson & Pinkie Sanchez) vs Violence is Forever (Dominic Garrini & Kevin Ku)

I’m not sad about this matchup AT ALL. Ku and Dickinson lay into each other right from the start but the Dirty Daddy is just a little more aggro right now and Pazuzu is running wild. Garrini tags in but Sanchez is running him over. Dom catches a rana attempt into an uppercut drop as Ku pisses off Dickinson. Sanchez getting double teamed to death. Pinkie fires up and hits a moonsault ddt to Ku and Dickinson tags in to go house. Huge DVD to Garrini but Ku breaks up the pin. Dickinson wipes out Ku and sets up Garrini for the finish. Larry Legend distracts Pinkie and the ref, allowing Chuck to get in the ring and hit a flying knee to Dickinson. Violence is Forever hits an Over/Under and pins the Dirty Daddy.

Winners: Violence is Forever

Good fight action overall but there was some weird disconnects between the teams at times. Ultimately, this was a good story build for Chuck’s new faction and his overall program with Dickinson. The Dirty Daddy has dropped two straight matches in Beyond which hasn’t happened in a WHILE. Are we getting Larry’s Legends vs Pazuzuhausen sometime down the road? I sure hope so.

Match 3: DL Hurst vs “The Air Pod God” Richard Holliday (w/ Cam Zagami) (Tournament for Tomorrow Preliminaries)

Holliday isn’t wearing his AirPods in the ring. That’s probably for the best. Holliday isn’t taking this very seriously and Hurst replies with repeated kicks, strikes and a clothesline. Holliday slows him down by jacking up his knee on the top rope and Hurst is getting stomped out and that knee is getting worked over. Hurst taking a lot of punishment but is kicking out. Holliday gets caught with his feet on the ropes. Hurst fires up but Cam provides distraction. Forearm to the back of the head and a Market Crash gutwrench powerbomb and Hurst is down for the count.

Winner: Richard Holliday

As soon as I saw Cam, I knew how this was going down. I wish Hurst knew that too. Good but quick fight from DL though, crowd is VERY behind him at this point. Would love to see a little story stuff strapped to him soon.

Match 4: Legit Yoots (Leyla Hirsch & Wheeler Yuta) vs AC Mack & Fred Yehi

AC Mack says that Rich Palladino has been doing such a bad job of holding up his belts that he brought the CEO of Action Wrestling to do the job for him. Matt Griffin does indeed hold those belts up on high. Mack goes toe to toe with Yuta but Yehi runs interference on both opponents on AC’s behalf. Hirsch has had ENOUGH and wipes out both guys, setting up Legit Yoots for a pair of dives. Yehi tags in against Hirsch and overpowers, tilt a whirl neck lock to wear her down. She tries fighting out but Yehi is dragging her around and stomping and chopping with a vengeance. Yuta finally tags in with a dropkick to Mack for a two count. Yehi provides interference again and Hirsch steps into the chaos. LY with stereo Germans. Hirsch on Yuta’s shoulders to deliver a superplex to Yehi. Mack going for the pedigree but Yuta kicks him downs. Yehi takes out Hirsch but she’s still able to break up the next pin attempt. Mack goes for the pedigree again but Yuta wraps it into a crossface while Hirsch wraps up Yehi at the ropes. Mack struggles but is forced to tap out.

Winners: Legit Yoots

This was a lot of fun. Mack is a great character heel who back his mouth up and Yehi looked absolutely vicious in there. Yuta and Yehi are in each other’s business at the end so maybe we see that in the future.

It’s time for the Discovery Gauntlet! You gotta win it to stay in it!

Match 5: “The Dimepiece” Aaron Rourke vs Anthony Bowens

Bowens pie faces the upstart Rourke on his way into the ring. Nice setup for some animosity. Crowd is trying to turn Rourke with their “Sparkle City” chants. Rourke is trying to take the cheap way out but Bowens is too sportsmanlike to let him get away with that. Rourke is getting beat up in these opening minutes with chops, clotheslines and a good leapfrog rough rider. Rourke rakes the eyes out of a torture rack and hits a blockbuster. Bowens fights back but Rourke catches him with a backbreaker and Bomb for a near fall. Rourke is shouting in Bowens’ face and eats strikes for it. Superkick and fisherman’s buster from Bowens for a reallllly close two. Rourke escape a whip and hits a meteora for two. Electric chair face buster to the apron and a pair of running kicks and is that it for Rourke’ reign? Kick out! Slugging it out from the bottom to their feet. Bowens gets dropkicked to the post and Rourke hits the Bow Down cradle DDT for the pin.

Winner: Aaron Rourke

Loved this. Great hard hitting fight. Lot of upside to both these guys. I don’t know who Rourke has next week but as for Bowens, maybe he should have a date with DL Hurst in the near future. Rourke reminds everyone that he’s unbeaten here before saying “you’re welcome” to us all.

We have a tag match that isn’t the main event now? There are identical twins in the ring. They offer up an open challenge. Another tag team comprised of identical twins is out. Who is anyone? What is happening? Drew. DREW.

Match 6: The Voros Twins vs The Reigel Twins (Logan & Sterling)

I’m gonna do my best here. The Regals open this up with a lot of stereo moves and a stereo dive. The Voros Twins start to double team the Reigels. Reigels fire back with a codebreaker. Voros with a second rope senton to the back. Reigels fighting back against more double teams and wipe out a Voros on the apron. The other eats a pop up ddt for a near fall. One of the Regiels eats a rising knee and a half Nelson suplex. Stereo dives but the Reigel kicks out. They argue with the ref allowing the Reigels to do some twin magic. One Voros takes a long fall to the floor while the other eats an electric chair blockbuster for the pin.

Winners: The Reigel Twins

Obviously, this action was nearly impossible to call on the fly. Fun action from both teams though maybe a couple minutes too long. A cute visual goof to play on us by Beyond. The crowd was very confused at first but into it by the end.

Match 7: Robo the Punjabi Lion vs Christian Casanova (Tournament for Tomorrow Preliminaries)

Robo is barely through his entrance when Ken Doane hits the ring and annihilates Robo. Bell is ringing and and ref are pulling Doane off Robo. Robo is helped to the back as Doane expresses his anger at not being in the tournament. He calls out former Club Cam member Christian Casanova to settle some business tonight.

Match 7a: Ken Doane (w/ Cam Zagami) vs Christian Casanova (Tournament for Tomorrow Preliminaries)

The crowd is VERY into this fight. Doane has the power but Casanova is smart and stays a step ahead of his volatile opponent. Doane finally catches Casanova at the apron and lays in a beatdown in the ring. Casanova mounts a solid comeback of kicks but Doane catches a springboard attack into a nasty backbreaker for a two. Cam distracting again and Doane hits a solid right but Casanova kicks out. Doane is pumping up but Casanova hits a scissor kick. He goes for a follow up dive, misses but plays dead. Doane goes in for the kill and Casanova rolls him up for three.

Winner: Christian Casanova

And all of sudden, we have another good story coming into this tournament. Doane and Casanova put on a quick but good showcase here. Doane, true to his part in the stable, comes off as the lunkhead in falling for Casanova’s telegraphed trap at the end. Casanova and Holliday have some unfinished business to get through in the next couple of weeks of this tourney.

Main Event: Nerder Death Kill (Nick Gage & Thomas Santell) vs John Silver & Eddie Kingston

Silver is teaming with the man that gave him a huge pep talk at the beginning of Season 2, Eddie Kingston. Tonight, they face arguably the best team in Beyond. Santell starts off by stretching the meat man until he’s nice and tender. Gage tags in to beat that tenderized meat man. Big delay vertical brain buster from Gage. Kingston tags in and we have a King Fight on our hands. It immediately spills to the outside as they punch the crap out of each other. Silver and Santell join the slugfest. Gage sent to the post as Silver and Kingston start to work over the Ovaltine Dream. Kingston is directing traffic, making sure Silver is on board with the double teams and loose rules. Gage finally makes it to the apron but he looks rough. Santell, meanwhile, gets lawndarted into the second turnbuckle and kicked in the head. Gage finally tags in and foot washes Kingston, hitting a second rope elbow drop for a near fall. Silver swarms and hits the spin doctor on Gage but Santell gets in the way of the pin. Santell sluggingnat Kingston but gets poked in the eye. Kingston holds Gage and calls for the clothesline but Gage pushes Kingston in the way of silver’s attack. Silver gets wiped out too and Gage hits the chokebreaker on Kingston for the pin.

Winners: Nerder Death Kill

This was good for the time we had it. It felt a little short as a main event encounter but the show was going late and long by this point anyways. I liked the story telling we got as Kingston slowly got more and more annoyed at Silver, who was actively playing by the rules. Gage and Santell continue to dominate their tag encounters. Who will they face at Heavy Lies the Crown?

Back in the ring, Kingston is FRUSTRATED at Silver. They are in each other’s face as Silver tries to explain himself and begs Kingston to not be a hypocrite and take the loss with respect. Silver wants to toast a beer to Kingston’s birthday. Kingston wipes out Silver, gets a beer and spits it on his fallen body. I’d say this gets settled on New Years.

And that’s it for Episode 11! Lots of good to great action tonight and one really weird thing. I particularly want to call out Deppen/Romo and Rourke/Bowens as the matches to watch but everything was pretty solid all the way through. We have a new stable in Larry’s Legends. A few more matches for New Years seem to be formulating. Two show to go before the big one, where are we headed before then? Until next time!
