WWE NXT REPORT: WHO FACES COLE NEXT WEEK?, CRUISERWEIGHT TITLE MATCH, PREVIEWING BASZLER/RIPLEY, AND MORE

We start off with a video showing a recap of last week's show.

Adam Cole stops things and says there is a Triple Threat Match tonight to see who faces him next week and that is the stupidest thing. These three men have done nothing to earn a title match.  Cole says he hopes they all beat each other up and just punch a ticket to lose to the champion who is on the best role of his career.

We are at Full Sail University and your announcers are Mauro Ranallo, Nigel McGuinness, and Beth Phoenix.

Match Number One:  Angel Garza versus Lio Rush for the NXT Cruiserweight Championship

Rush attacks Garza before the bell rings and the referee has to keep Rush away from Garza.  

The bell rings and both men with punches and Garza with a rollup and more punches.  Rush with a rollup for a near fall.  Garza with a shoulder tackle through the ropes to the floor.  Rush with a shoulder into the apron and then he sends Garza into the ring steps.  Rush goes to the apron and Garza grabs the ankles and then drops Rush face first onto the apron.  Garza sends Rush into the ring and Garza gets a near fall.  Garza goes for the pants but Rush stops the unveiling.  Rush goes around Garza but Garza knows his pattern.  Rush misses the slingshot cutter when Garza moves and Garza with a kick for a near fall.  Garza puts Rush in the turnbuckles and Garza slaps Rush and hits a super kick.

Garza gets a near fall.  Rush with a shoulder but Garza with forearms.  They exchange forearms and Garza with a slap.  Rush with forearms and knees.  Garza sends Rush over his head and Rush lands throat first on the ropes.  Rush goes to the floor to recover.  Garza with a drop kick through the ropes.  Garza with a running drop kick on the floor.  Garza returns Rush to the ring and gets a near fall.  Garza with a waist lock and Rush with elbows.  Garza with a clothesline.  Garza gets a near fall.  Garza with a seated abdominal stretch.  Garza with chops to Rush after releasing the hold.  

Garza kicks Rush and then he applies a modified bow and arrow.  Rush with a jaw breaker followed by punches.  Garza gets a near fall.  Garza with a full nelson.  Rush with a satellite head scissors to Garza followed by kicks to Garza.  Garza blocks a springboard head scissors and Rush is able to send Garza over the top rope with a rana.  Rush with a double jump moonsault onto Garza.  Rush with a spinning heel kick and Rush gets a near fall.   Rush with punches to Garza and Rush goes for the slingshot cutter but Garza moves and hits his own slingshot cutter for a near fall.

Garza sets for the slingshot reverse suplex but Rush was able to adjust his weight to counter with a lateral press and a near fall.  Rush goes up top but Garza stops Rush by grabbing his boot.  Garza with an enzuigiri.  Garza sets for a move from the turnbuckles but Rush pushes Garza to the mat and Garza lands on his feet.  Garza with a Spanish Fly for a near fall.  Rush and Garza exchange punches.  Rush with a slap and then Garza with a slap.  They go back and forth.  Garza with head butts and Rush with a spinning heel kick.  Garza with a super kick and then both men fall to the mat.  

Garza with a kick to the midsection and he sets for the Wing Clipper but Rush blocks it and Rush with a Wing Clipper of his own.  Rush gets a near fall.  Rush with forearms as Garza grabs the leg.  Rush misses a round kick and Garza gets Rush on his shoulders but Rush with a slingshot cutter for a near fall.  Rush goes up top and hits the frog splash.  Garza tries to go to the floor and Rush tries to keep him in the ring but Rush only removes Garza's pants.  Rush goes up top and sets for a frog splash onto the floor but Garza gets his knees up.

Rush is sent into the ring and Garza with Wing Clipper for a near fall.  Garza with a butterfly guillotine and Rush passes out.

Winner:  Angel Garza (new Champion)

Nigel mentions next week's NXT Women's Title Match.

We take a look at Shayna Baszler.  She says she is the most dominant female in WWE.  She says her dad always said you can tell a lot about a person by what they drive.  She shows her Mustang.  A lot of people want to be a Tesla, but she is about the muscle cars.  She says she is hearing the word momentum tossed around as they talk about Rhea Ripley.  Shayna mentions the flavors of the month.  Ember Moon, Dakota Kai, Nikki Cross, Bianca Belair, Io Shirai, Mia Yim, Candice LeRae.  She beat Becky Lynch and Bayley at Survivor Series.  For Rhea Ripley, it will be the same result.  Tap, Snap, or Nap.

We see Cameron Grimes in the back as we go to commercial.

We are back with comments from Finn Balor.  He tells Regal of all the people, for what he has done for this place, he puts him in a triple threat match.  Why does he have to prove himself?  Keith Lee has been relevant since WarGames.  Balor says he was champion for almost 300 days.  He took care of Ciampa two weeks ago and he will do it tonight.  Ciampa calls his title Goldie.  Finn says he will talk about hte gold he has won and next week his future becomes his past and he will become a two time champion.

We take a look at Angel Garza's post match comments.  Garza talks about how wrestling is his life.  He cares about the fans and their support.  He talks about how his family is important to him.  Angel brings his girlfriend into the ring and he proposes to her.  She says yes.

We see footage of Cameron Grimes attacking KUSHIDA last night at the Performance Center.

Match Number Two:  Cameron Grimes versus Raul Mendoza

Mendoza kicks Grimes in the corner as the bell rings and Mendoza with forearms and a flying shoulder tackle.  Grimes goes to the floor and Mendoza with a springboard twisting dive onto Grimes.  Mendoza goes for a 450 splash but misses.  Grimes with a standing C4 and KUSHIDA makes his way to the ring to distract Grimes.  Mendoza with a West Coast Pop for the three count.

Winner:  Raul Mendoza

After the match, KUSHIDA takes Grimes hat and heads up the ramp.

Cathy Kelley asks Mia Yim about her match wtih Dakota Kai.  Dakota took the biggest night of her career from her at War Games.  This will not be a normal match.  This will be a fight.  She will make sure that Dakota will be leaving in an ambulance.

We have a Travis Banks video package.

We go to commercial.

Match Number Three:  Travis Banks versus Jaxson Ryker (with Steve Cutler and Wesley Blake)

Banks with forearms and kicks to Ryker.  Banks is sent to the floor and he kicks Ryker from the apron.  Banks with a suicide dive but Ryker with a forearm to Banks.  Ryker sends Banks into the turnbuckles.  Ryker with forearms in the corner.  Banks with a chop but Ryker with a punch to the midsection.  Ryker with a slingshot suplex throw.  Ryker has Banks by the throat and Banks with punches and a forearm.  Banks kicks Ryker into the turnbuckles and Banks with a drop kick into the corner followed by a second one.  Banks with a cannonball into the back.  Banks goes to the apron and he misses a double stomp when Ryker moves.

Ryker with a double sledge followed by a running knee to the head.  Banks with a missile drop kick and Slice of Heaven for the three count.

Winner:  Travis Banks

We go to commercial.

Match Number Four:  Dakota Kai versus Mia Yim

Mia drop kicks Kai as the bell rings.  Mia with chops but Dakota with forearms.  Mia with a hair biel and a second one.  Dakota misses an enzuigiri and Mia with a waist lock.  Dakota with an elbow and Mia with a dive at the knee and a drop kick.  Mia gets a near fall.  Dakota with an Irish whip and Mia floats over and applies a tarantula on Dakota.  Mia goes tot he turnbuckles for a missile drop kick.  Dakota kicks Mia away and connects with axe kicks.  Kai goes through the ropes when MIa moves.  Mia sends Dakota into the ring steps and hits a cannonball.

We go to commercial.
